A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙 🩵

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Brilliant Post Strawberry BubbleGum !

Yet we still have a significant number of posters on here who believe that this Government are doing a decent job and that communication is the problem..
These, posters with there PHD and Masters Degrees can be summoned up by a quote from one of my Mums old friends ' You Can't educate Pork'...

Another highly 'amusing' item is Bangor University Politics association thinking that banning Reform from discussions is going to make them disappear. In truth though it is absolutely pathetic childish and concerning that people like that are being educated to Degree level. Students with a level of argument skills and political understanding that belongs to Year 9 pupils... We don't like you therefore you can't speak.....

Parsley4321 · 10/02/2026 08:18

@strawberrybubblegum i felt the same pushing my son away from this shit show hunkering down trying to not be too pissed off most of the time. Worrying about £ coming in and hating what this country has become. Importing people who want to harm us it’s totally evil and the grooming gangs hiding in plain sight and so many people not listening to the news and not getting what’s happening because it’s too unpalatable

redange · 10/02/2026 08:21

Sorry, Posters on here with their Masters and PHD Degrees who believe that if communication was improved, the public would become enlightened to the Starmer Administration.

Ha even Streeting knows that isn’t true. Plus they are pushing out comms daily anyway, it probably makes people loathe them more. Give us a break from the Labour nonsense fgs

Just listened to a tech owner and 2024 Labour voter worried about the UK falling behind on AI saying everything will change. Labour plodding on stuff. Meanwhile Rishi Sunak doing tech talks and getting into AI stuff. How sold people were on Labour at the last GE. What fools they were to believe it all.

Upstartled · 10/02/2026 08:43

The MN lot didn't just believe it, they preached it.

redange · 10/02/2026 08:51

Before the election of July 2024 I was telling people that an incoming Labour Government would in just 6 months become the most hated administration in history.

I knew they would be catastrophic for the country despite many people I know, telling me it was time for a 'change'. These, people unaware what was hiding beyond the 'paywall' of the Labour Party. You, just have to look at the quality of all the Labour MP's to understand why we are in the state we are and probably why none will pull the plug. The job of an MP 'should' be of equal standing and requirement to that of being a Director in a Business whether in the Private/Public sector. Can we say honestly any Labour MP with the possible exception of Graham Stringer has the ability to be a diligent Company Director. This, being another reason why we don't see any Cabinet or any Labour MP's resigning the Whip or crossing the floor. This, being what 'decent' and confident in their own abilities people would do. This, being because the majority of Labour MP's know the salary they get as MP's will be their peak earnings. This, is not what being a MP should or traditionally be about, but to represent the constituency because you have skills the majority of constituents do not have.

Starmer most angry about class divide, says Miliband
Sir Keir Starmer is most passionate about the “class divide” in Britain, Ed Miliband has said.
The Energy Secretary told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “I tell you what angers Keir most about this country, it’s class. It’s the class divide.
“One of the things I’ve been talking about this whole period is saying more about that … He exists to change that.”
Mr Miliband added that the Prime Minister was “driven by burning passion about the injustice this country faces”.

Starmer - what a bitter and twisted fuck.

Liker · 10/02/2026 08:57

I had Wes Streeting as no. 1 to step in when Starmer departs - whenever that will be as he's clinging on like a hardened clagnut.

Yet Streeting also cosied up to Mandelson and now he's released their tweets to show what an honest, upright guy he is. Plus to put the boot in said that they had no growth strategy and is showing this tweet to the world.

Rather a snakey move Wes.

Rats in a sack comes to mind!

SpaceRaccoon · 10/02/2026 09:01

Still here but honestly so gobsmacked I'm struck silent.

True, many still are.

DancingFerret · 10/02/2026 09:12

Miliband talking about "after the damage that was done by the Mandelson affair." Past tense, they're intent on sweeping it under the carpet, hoping the public will forget.

The problem they have with that is the Mandelson scandal is huge; only the tip of the iceberg has come to light - and with every headline the connection with Starmer will be remembered.

That completely tracks with Labour's behaviour.

Bitter, destructive fucker. They genuinely don't care that everyone will be worse off, just so long as no one has anything for themselves

I do think it's a drive for control, rather than a drive for justice.

I couldn't agree more. It has occurred to me that being an mp might be on a sort of secondment basis, so people would be paid the same as they were in their previous employment and there would be no financial incentive for them to cling to their jobs. I would also like them to have to prove that they had had a proper job previously (not a parliamentary researcher).

What do you all think of Alasdair Carns? A Marine for 25 years, decorated and highly promoted. I don't imagine he would be keen on U turns, I do hope they don't get a mad rush of blood to the head and make him leader. I suspect he would make Kemi Badenoch's job a lot harder than the current bunch do.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2026 09:24

The tech guy below said people were leaving because creating stuff here is like wading through treacle. He had the option to vote for a tech interested politician but went for Starmer, what a bust no wonder he’s lamenting it.

I’ve heard a few say dead man walking this morning re Starmer Times Radio and maybe R4. I guess we’ll see.

I suspect Starmer would be rather shocked if he spoke to members of the working class, because currently he knows nothing of their lives, concerns or hopes for the future

Labour has a very paternalistic, 'we know better' attitude to the working class. They dont want to listen, they want to lecture and it will come back to bite them on the arse.

I think in many places he’d get the reception similar to the darts or footy chants.

EasternStandard · 10/02/2026 09:56

John Curtice did a good piece on polling saying Starmer and Labour are already incredibly dire, one for our dedicated readers who really care about our views 😬

He thinks Starmer’s not out of the woods yet.

Hence why Reform support is mainly made up of people belonging to the working class! WC people both here and in the US are fed up of patronising left-wing politicians who don't understand what they want and why they're angry. It's how Trump got in and it's why Reform is leading in the polls here.

Upstartled · 10/02/2026 10:30

If John Curtis isn't careful he'll find himself on the far-right naughty bench along with <checks notes> the BBC, Laura Kussenberg and Chris Mason.

I wonder what Ed Miliband thinks of his brother’s $1 million + salary in America.

That's it in a nutshell, isn't it?

As he's repeatedly told us, his father was a toolmaker. I suspect young KS might have been embarrassed by his working class roots and is healing the chip on his shoulder by attacking those he (wrongly) perceives as privileged.

Amateur psychoanalysis apart, because I don't care about the reasons behind his class war, he's proved beyond all doubt he's petty beyond belief and incapable of seeing the wider picture. Lord only know why he was appointed DPP.

Parsley4321 · 10/02/2026 12:12

I am disgusted by that weasel Streeting if you’re friends with a nonce be friends with a nonce but don’t pretend you weren’t because all the press out there now. You were best mates and now you’re not to save your job oh do FOD

justasking111 · 10/02/2026 12:40

Elenud Morgan has finally spoken this morning. She's backed Keir Starmer.
