What’s on your Costco shopping list?

My husband has just signed us up for a Costco card, so we’re heading there this weekend for our first Costco trip as a family (Im very excited!!)

I’m pulling a shopping list of things to look out for and wondered what are your must-buys / favourites so we don’t come home with a kayak and 48 croissants?! 🤣

Current non-negotiables: Skippy peanut butter (husband) and gyozas (my son).

Love a visit to Costco but only go every 2-3 months as we can’t seem to spend less than £400!

Levis and other clothes
Toilet roll (Kirkland triple satin)- lasts about 10 times longer than any other toilet roll
Kitchen roll
Washing powder
Clingfilm, tinfoil and baking paper
Chicken breasts
Halloumi
Tins of tuna and chopped tomatoes
Pesto (3 big jars in a pack)
Franks hot sauce
Caster sugar, icing sugar, vanilla extract and chocolate chips
Frozen chicken tenders, prawns, gyoza and mozzarella sticks
Fresh food to go/heat: chicken tacos, enchiladas, rotisserie chicken and wings
Nespresso pods
Cans of Diet Coke (but only if on offer)
Spray oil
Potato scones
Wine (whatever is on offer)
Christmas wrapping paper (huge double sided rolls that last for years)

Mine will only come if we get him a mango smoothie to have as we go around :)

Mine is still upset many years later that they replaced the red fruit smoothie with mango. Every time he goes (he's an adult now with his own card), he lives in hope. We even visited 2 in the US just in case!

Are you in Scotland? I've never seen potato scones in ours, but we do have sliced sausage!

I wish they’d bring back the large apple pies. They were a staple at our family get-togethers.

Gourmet sauce is amazing

Mumtobabyhavoc · 02/02/2026 21:45

Not that anyone needs this much pistachio spread ($23) or chocolate ($34.99) ... 😋
prices were very good. Coffee was $29.99 and is by Starbucks.

We go every couple of months. We buy (but not necessarily every time)
Toilet Rolls. Kitchen rolls Tissues, Andrex wet wipes.
washing pods and liquid, fabric conditioner, dishwasher tablets, freezer bags, latex gloves. Washing up liquid, Rinse aid, Washing machine and dishwasher cleaner.
Chicken ,breasts, sausages and burgers (during the summer for BBQ's) Berner sausages.
Southern Fried chicken breasts, Chicken hot bite Goujons. Atlantic Cod.
Marmite, Geetas Mango chutney, Branston baked beans. Nescafe Coffee (in huge tins). Heinz Tomato sauce. Kellogs Cornflakes
Duracell batteries, mouth wash, Cares hand wash (the large bottles which we use to refill our own soap dispensers), Chondroitin and glucosamine tablets, Body fish oil capsules.
Coke zero, J20's
Their selection of children's books are always good. I have bought women's fleece jackets from there too.
I try to avoid the pastry's and cakes that is fatal!

I also love looking around at their non foods and occasionally bought stuff.
You do need plenty of storage though. We keep tins and cans in the garage. Kitchen rolls and tissues above the cupboards in the utility room. The toilet rolls are stored in a cupboard on the landing. Meat is put in separate freezer bags and frozen.

I bought some Korean skincare for DD today -not a random buy , I saw it online and searched it up and the price .

DD was impressed , with the price in Costco compared to other sites .
Sometimes there is nothing of interest though .

Went tonight on the way home from work
Petrol
Passata
Bin bags
Rubber gloves
Seabrook crisps
Coffee
Cat food
Pistachio nuts
Mixed nuts
Dettol laundry liquid
Falafel (freeze them in bags of 6)
Beetroot
Sourdough bread - pack of two

Nando's gift cards, worth £100 (5*£20) you pay £84. I also like Kirkland tissues. DH likes their shelled pistachios. Beware the prices, as the bold large ones don't include VAT, thats in smaller print on the label
