Have you ever wondered how many baby bels you have ever bought?

My DC are currently 14 and 18. Both have been obsessed with baby bels since weaning. The 18 yo saw me cutting one up for the 14yo (just me or do we all do that? And yes I know he's old enough not to need them cutting up but that's another issue, another post) and I asked her.... how many do you think I have bought over the last 18 years. She stared at me and said " well you me and DS eat them so...." and when I told her that I NEVER eat a baby bel she looked at me as though I had two heads.

They are one of the things I get a cold sweat about if I open the fridge and see I have run out.

So how many? Thousands probably. I'd love to know. I should have bought shares. Is it just me? Am I entitled to some free ones by now?

I don't cut them up for the kids. The fun of them is in the unwrapping.

IT IS REAL CHEESE!

I have cut up a baby el a few times for a sandwich and it is very satisfying to cut through in tiny slices but I do enjoy slicing veg and cheese etc as an odd pastime!

surely cutting up a babybel ruins the fun?! The whole reason children like them is because use they can open it themselves and the peeling is satisfying?

and why for a 14 yo 😂

I cut them up AFTER the wax is removed.
Not while it's still on.

No - it's cheese strings all the way with my kids. Who are 14 and 17 now.

What! You dont cut them with the wax on!!!

Lol. Little bits of waxy red streaked cheese.

Also OP you need to start a thread about how many carpets have been ruined over the years by having red wax trodden into them.

I’m not keen myself, prefer a stronger flavour cheese, but they are my dog’s favourite treat. I buy in bags of six and he has average two per week. I’ve had him for around four years. So that means I’ve bought approximately 416 in total.

No carpets ruined here. I was a mean Mum and snacks had to be eaten sitting down with a dish.
I did however get into a world of trouble at school for making a huge ‘candle’ out of the wax and setting fire to it in science with the Bunsen burner. My older kids had the same science teacher who merrily brought it up every parents evening!
