Just that. Interested to see if anyone says what I'm thinking...

Stranraer. I wasn’t actually visiting, I was trying to get home and my ferry was delayed. So I had several hours to spare wandering around, trying to find something to eat and something to do. I think it might have been a Sunday, just to make matters worse. I have never been so bored in my life. But, to be fair, I was very stressed, so I can’t imagine anywhere being particularly diverting. No offence to the inhabitants of Stranraer. The town was not there for my entertainment and it served me well on my numerous trips from NI to Scotland back in the 1990s/early 2000’s.

stranraer for me too. We spent an afternoon there, and struggled to find anything to fill the time.

No Milan is a terribly boring city. The cathedral and shopping part near it are really all that is worth visiting

I am a bit đŸ˜®however at the poster who found Rome and Florence boring . I will admit to finding Bologna and Parma a bit boring nowadays but that is because I visit so often, I've done most of the touristy stuff . They are definitely both worth a visit if you have never been. Bologna more so as it is bigger with more to see and both have fantastic food in almost every place you eat at

Just goes to show how we are all different though đŸ˜‚

I think that a lot of cities in Italy have a depressed dreary vibe. Probably to do with the economic difficulties that they are having

Didcot Railway centre.

Did you go on an 'in steam' day, I found it interesting. The catering leaves an awful lot to be desired though!

Catwalking · 25/01/2026 14:14

sharm el sheikh
in fairness I’ve lived in a few countries, so being stuck in hotel(however up-market) on a desert coast miles away from any usual tourist attractions or indigenous folk or wildlife made it more than dull, thank goodness it was only a week stay.
highlight was a camel in middle of nothing, eating a cardboard boxđŸ˜¥

SeriaMau · 25/01/2026 14:15

Dubai.

MinnieCauldwell · 25/01/2026 14:15

Belgium. It always seems to be closed!

Yes I think that is unfortunately definitely more true in recent years I am afraid

JudgeJ · 25/01/2026 14:15

Roswell in New Mexico, the 'exhibition' about the alleged UFO sightings was like Woolworths in the early 1950, all bare wood floors, shelves counters, everything was wood and the contents were not worth the long, straight drive from Albuquerque.
Key West, totally over-rated, lots of tat, though we did find one good place to eat

MargaretThursday · 25/01/2026 14:16

Not sure.

But my tutor at uni told us that soil technicians from Alabama are the most boring people in the world...

Mydogisblackandwhite · 25/01/2026 14:16

Van Gough museum in Amsterdam, ex wanted to go so I agreed. For me very very boring, not into art. Full of people just stood looking at the pictures. They liked it but definitely not for me

Aw, I loved Rotterdam and Brussels. The cube houses, the amazing market building, lots of nice places to eat in Rotterdam. The Grand' Place, doing at your of chocolate shops, the Magritte museum in Brussels, lovely outdoor cafes everywhere.

Mine was L.A. Endless multi-lane highways with thousands of exits, no feeling of a centre, and air pollution so thick that the mountains vanished in it. I love plenty of cities but L.A. felt soulless.

The tank museum in Dorset. Never want to see another tank in my life. There were just too many tanks, I mean I know the clue is in the name, but there were just too many. I really hate tanks now.

This made me chuckle - have made a note not to go there

St Kitts and Guernsey.

Ive never been to St Kitts but I would go back to Guernsey đŸ‡¬đŸ‡¬ in a heartbeat! Also the trips to nearby Herm and Sark, gorgeous

20questions · 25/01/2026 14:17

Tourist attractions- Leaning Tower of Pisa - totally underwhelming.
Jacobite steam train in Scotland- there's only so long you can look at steam and hills đŸ˜€

Householdofcoughers · 25/01/2026 14:17

Germany…just awful

Oopsylazy · 25/01/2026 14:17

Mine was Crewe. Had to go to register our marriage - OMG never again will I (hopefully) have to go there!

Also Pwllheli in North Wales.

Paramaribo2025 · 25/01/2026 14:18

Would you mind elaborating? I am a Winter Woman and absolutely hate heat. I would choose Alaska, Canada, NYC in February etc etc. You'd think Iceland would be high on the list... but for some reason (nothing to do with expense) Iceland just doesn't grab me and I don't know why!

I see the PP has replied but I’ll also elaborate as I have a very different opinion of why Iceland sucks.
In my opinion if scenery is your thing it can be magical but with T&C’s like depending on the weather, season, lighting…
If you like a fancy pool like the blue lagoon… enjoy, they’re there in an abundance! At varying levels of cozy. Hell their swimming pool culture is pretty cool…
But the country is so boring! There’s nothing to do there if you don’t fancy hikes or public bathing. I like the 2nd, hate the 1st.

If hiking is your thing and you like a nature bath. You’ll love it. If you don’t… you probably won’t. If you’re into winter sports you’ll be disappointed, if you’re into summer sports… you’ll also be disappointed. They have great theatres.

I was cursed with having to live there for a while due to work commitments. Hated every minute of it.

Oopsylazy · 25/01/2026 14:18

God yes, and Centre Parcs! Awful place.

NuffSaidSam · 25/01/2026 14:09

How exciting is the rest of your life that Iceland is the most boring place you've ever been đŸ˜±

That was my thought too!

Householdofcoughers · 25/01/2026 14:17

Germany…just awful

The main cities in Germany are definitely somwhere that I would not like to go back to. I would like to see some of the forest areas though

MinnieCauldwell · 25/01/2026 14:19

Every UK Christmas Market I have ever been too, and I have been to a lot....

shuffleofftobuffalo · 25/01/2026 14:19

Burgess Hill. Deathly boring place, the best bit is the series of roundabouts that lead you to the motorway.

Pasta4Dinner · 25/01/2026 14:20

Fort William in the rain.
Centre Parcs
St Lucia was nice, I liked some of it a lot, but yes it’s boring. No one else on our resort seemed to go out anyway.
I think Redcar is like lots of small seaside towns.
