My DD is getting married at the beginning of March. It's a low key do, and I have several suitable dresses in my wardrobe ( no hat required). But actually I have no idea what to wear. It's not winter, its not spring...it might be knee deep in snow. And I'm a bit crap with clothes.

It's your daughter! Can you get something new you feel special in? Know what you mean about the time of year.

Thermals! See what it's like on the day. You can't go wrong wearing a pretty dress with a nice jacket over it. Seasalt have some lovely linen/canvas ones, very boxy. I bought one in emerald green because I just loved the colour, and if need be it could serve as a wedding outfit over a plain dress.

BTW Nobody has invited me to a wedding, I just saw the jacket and had to have it.....!

It's her second time around and a posh frock would look very out of place. She's wearing a burgundy jumpsuit. And its a houseparty several days after the legal bit.

I can go one better, DD1 is on DH number 3 (well she did start young) and I can't recall what I wore for 2 and 3!!

FuzzyPuffling · 16/01/2026 15:15

DD2 said if I got a new frock ( and I sort of covet a Katya Wildman one, but they are very pricey) it could have another outing at her ordination, which is true, but it seems such an extravagance!

@FuzzyPuffling I just peeped. DO IT! Don't let there be clergy in fancier outfits than you ๐Ÿ˜

WhatEverBlowsYourHairBack · 16/01/2026 15:23

Every time an NHS envelope drops through the letter box.. l get my hopes up that it's for one of my three major surgeries I'm waiting for. I've had a lovely phone call from my nurse today.. we have decided to carry on with my morphine patch and to try some physio ..
My daughter and 22 year old Grandson has been to do some cleaning etc for me...im looking for a new lift and recliner chair on line at the moment while scrolling on phone.
I'm trying not to fall asleep.. but I've been known to fall asleep in middle of scrolling lol.
Sending healing thoughts to all who need it.๐ŸŒน

Hello!

May I join? I am 52 and have pernicious anaemia, arthritis, bursitis and fibromylagia. I am just tired all the time, and forgetful.

I have to very severely pace myself each day and have more or less entirely given up work as my health is too unreliable.

Today I am mostly trying to get on top of the ironing and some life admin.

I've already promised DD a fancy clerical stole. We've seen some beauties. No one will outdo her! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hello @SpringingIntoSummerLobelia and welcome. You've certainly got an impressive list of maladies. No wonder you're tired. Pull up a chair...

Hello and welcome ๐Ÿค—

Yes you're definitely one of us...
Budging up on the sickbay sofa and patting the seat for you. Flowers

That's a list and must be exhausting to deal with.

Right I'm done for today. In bed. Telly (phone) on. Not going to move for some hours now and see if I can stop being weepy.

Thank you.

Gosh it's nice to chat with people who get it! I rarely tell people IRL what's going on with me. I did with one of DH's friends just before Christmas and he said 'Fibromyalgia? That's the condition people make up to avoid going to work isn't it?'. **

I was FINALYL diagnosed just a few months ago, and think I have now learned to just be vague. Grin

**He's a twat in a number of ways as I think you can tell.

TeaAndStrumpets · 16/01/2026 15:46

@WhatEverBlowsYourHairBack love your name! A warm welcome.

@SpringingIntoSummerLobelia so glad to have you here!

@BeefAndHorseradishSandwich welcome and hope work is OK.

It's a beautiful day for it @Swanhilde ! I've never heard of weaving brambles before but it's a great idea. Do you do garden ornaments like people do with willow? They always look great.

It was my first attempt and was meant to be a bird feeder! ๐Ÿคฃ But it's the wrong time of year really. Need to wait for spring and the green bendy new growth. I will not be deterred, it was quite fun ๐Ÿ˜Š

And don't worry @MewithME I'd stripped the thorns off before soaking it โœ‚๏ธ

DoAWheelie · 16/01/2026 16:03

Had a busy day yesterday as I had several hospital appointments back to back so I was bouncing around different departments for ages. Pushed myself a bit too hard so I'm resting today in front of the PS5.

I just need to get a blood test (booked for monday) and I've finished this round of investigations and I'm glad it's almost over. Looks like the initial suspicions of it being cardiac related are wrong which I'm happy about.

I've got a very impressive collection of bruises from my blood pressure reading though! I beat my old record of 11 and now have an impressive 16

Yes! I find it a great distraction when I'm in pain
