Yes, most of my own work.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 12/01/2026 21:01

Yes our living room is filled with art. I love it all and it definitely hasn’t got old, I love each new piece that we put up

Didntask · 12/01/2026 21:03

Yes, mostly. Nothing fancy, just stuff that I liked the look of. I also have mounted cigarette card collections - I 'inherited' them from my parents and I love them.

Comefromaway · 12/01/2026 21:03

Yes, we bought a beautiful painting a couple of years ago. I surprised myself because it’s abstract and not my usual style but I love it.

I’ve also got a couple of small artwork pieces by local artists that were first sale in a local arts centre.

MaybeItWasMe · 12/01/2026 21:04

Some but I’d love more. Can’t justify spending on it at the moment.

Yes, most of my own work.

Yes, me too. My pictures are on my bedroom and lounge walls. It’s a mini art gallery!

CatsSleepFatandWalkThin · 12/01/2026 21:06

Yes, loads, all over the house.

Chinam · 12/01/2026 21:07

I have some nice prints hanging throughout the house. I’d love some original pieces but I have champagne taste and a beer budget so will have to content myself with what I have.

I buy beautiful old oil paintings in gilt frames from junk shops and Facebook marketplace and I love them. They add a touch of splendour - in our little terraced house!

HighburyHope · 12/01/2026 21:07

Yes, lots. This year I am hoping to commission a portrait of DD (18) as she prepares to leave for university. My parents did the same for each of us at the same age and it is lovely to have those portraits.

FeelingFineNow · 12/01/2026 21:08

Yes loads, some I've had for years and still love. I really don't like bare walls.

Arlanymor · 12/01/2026 21:08

Yes but all done by people I know, which I think is why I love it so much.

Timeforatincture · 12/01/2026 21:09

Loads! Gives me joy every day. Lots by family and friends, other pieces bought at local open studios, and other pieces I've bought when out and about. And gifts. New acquisitions mean that the hanging committee (DH and me) has to meet so things always look fresh when moved about.

I’d love to see some of your work @TheClocksFast and @TeaRoseTallulah if ye feel like sharing.

ThatWasMyLastFatFreeFrush · 12/01/2026 21:10

Yes. Oil paintings by my father. I don't particularly like them but other people think they're good and they were a present.

I've got lots of photos and prints as well.

eclecticwalls · 12/01/2026 21:11

Every wall of every room. 10 from a known “kitchen sink artist”
An eclectic mix, collected over 30 years. A posh friend who knows about such things said they were all hung wrong and sent a posher friend round to redo them. 3 years on I notice them everyday.
last pic is of her mock up before hanging.

I have a variety of limited edition prints of artwork from a local artist, a print of a pen and ink sketch which I've had for about 25 years, plus a linocut print bought a few years back on holiday.
There isn't art in every room, but what I have up, I still very much enjoy looking at.

Cat1504 · 12/01/2026 21:11

Yes in every room…including bathroom and utility

DeedlessIndeed · 12/01/2026 21:13

Yes. Look out for studio sales / auctions for originals which will be far cheaper than from a gallery.

I enjoy that they are completely unique pieces.

topcat2014 · 12/01/2026 21:13

I have around 100 paintings and prints in my gallery. All local artists. Not bad considering I gave up art at age 12

I love the bottom left painting in the first picture!

standingongold · 12/01/2026 21:14

I do, I am an artist myself and I have work from friends as well as some of my own and some I have bought. I still love it all. I have a prized piece which was a gift from a very talented artist I was at art school with and we were a couple while at art school. We stayed friends and he became very successful, the work he gifted to me is now quite valuable. Its hanging here in my studio and I love it but its very bittersweet now as my friend sadly took his own life a few years ago. I sometimes think of taking it down as it makes me sad to see it here everyday but I can't bear to shut it away either.

RollingValleys · 12/01/2026 21:19

Yes, stuff I've either made or collected over 3 decades. It's a mixture of wall-mounted ceramics, textiles, paintings and original prints. The pieces I've bought have all been things I've seen and instantly -and often irrationally- felt that I had to have, whether from a charity shop, gallery, show or maker. And to me, they never grow tired; I really enjoy each piece everyday, whether it's the craft and the skill of the artist, the composition, how it interacts with the space around it.

crazeekat · 12/01/2026 21:20

I have a whole wall of Victoria Coleman cats. They crack me up every single day.

SquigglePigs · 12/01/2026 21:22

Yes, plenty.

Some I don't love as much as I did when we got them but some I still smile at every time I look at them 6+ years later.
