Yes including two pieces that were commissioned for me from a friend by another friend of two pop culture characters I love. I do have a 3rd that the artist gave me that I haven’t got around to framing yet.

Your lodger's pictures are absolutely brilliant - I'd love to have some of them on my walls!

I will tell him, he could have gone to art school in Warsaw but didnt bother...he doesnt think he has much talent...I have tried to get him to art classes here but no interest.

Yes, from a variety of sources, some old some new, some painted by my DF!

I can't say I look at every picture every day, but every so often I get a partner thrill by looking at one or other picture. I'll never stop loving them.

It’s great isn’t it? pretty sure London, with Bedlam, now imperial war museum.
Unsigned, bought with the one above it for I think, around £100.

Why did I think Bedlam was in Liverpool Street? Maybe different locations over time? I'm sure that where the Andaz Hotel is used to be the first Bedlam or am I just really misremembering a fact I thought I once knew?!

DeanElderberry · 13/01/2026 18:56

The Imperial War Museum was Bedlam.

I have lots of art and also lots of books, which means few visible wall surfaces. That's how I like it.

A Banksy on my garage door & an Aboriginal painting in my covered area outside of my back door. I have dozens of my own artwork in a big fat folder.

girlinabox · 13/01/2026 19:06

Yes, mixture of things done my me, family friends plus a couple of nice originals I've found in charity shops. Never get tired of them as they all have meaning/a story.

MigGirl · 13/01/2026 19:07

Yes several by my husbands Uncle and one by my Dad's wife. I do like them or they wouldn't be on the wall.

Guidanceplease20 · 13/01/2026 19:10

Yes, and its all by me.

I have a friend at art club and I like her work too but its abstract and I am waiting for the right piece to be able to convince my husband that we need one!

We’ve got one original painting that we bought in Greenwich market and several cheap oil paintings that we bought I Hong Kong about 40 years ago. My daughter is a talented artist and we’ve got four or five of her paintings and ink drawings framed. But my favourite things are the pictures which my Mum embroidered many many years ago, and a couple of tapestries, which I framed when she died. She also discovered a talent for painting when she was in her 80s and I’ve framed loads of her pictures which I’ve got on two walls. I really enjoy looking at them and thinking how thrilled she would be to think that I’ve got them on display.

Growlybear83 · 13/01/2026 19:31

Here’ one of my mum’s embroidered bird pictures, her tapestry of Anne Hathaway’s cottage, and my favourite ink drawing by my daughter. I’ve also got a 6’ long framed print of Visscher’s panorama of London which I really love

Those embroidered birds are really lovely.

InterIgnis · 13/01/2026 20:31

Yes, I’ve got a collection of photography and watercolors by local artists from different countries I’ve visited on my walls. I’ve got some prints of famous paintings up too - Proserpine by Rossetti, and Light Of The Harem by Leighton are in my sitting room.

I also collect tiles, fabrics, and local craftworks (metalworks, woodworks, and ceramics) from different places.

We have loads and that’s how I like it. In other ways our home is quite minimal and I’m not keen on cluttered walls. It ranges from from cute little prints bought on holiday, some serious Indian, Zambian and Zimbabwean paintings by excellent artists, one large inherited landscape of a Welsh mining town, some lovely inherited antique porcelain, gifts from friends and artwork by the kids and a commissioned 6 by 8 abstract which takes up most of a wall. My 18th birthday present was a gorgeous watercolour of my home town and I have various original railway advertising posters that my dad collects. My MIL is a professional artist so we have several of her paintings- including a beautiful abstract over our fireplace. Oh, and a very rusty 1950’s Black Cat tobacco enamel advertising sign which hung in my parents’ garage which I adored as a child. Art in a home is a joyful thing 🙂

Blueuggboots · 13/01/2026 20:39

Yes. We have a Doug Hyde print, a Dylan Issak print, and 2 originals painted by a friend.i love them all.

topcat2014 · 13/01/2026 21:46

I've got 2 Beryl Cook limited edition prints at home. My favourite is Elviras cafe

JemOfAWoman · 13/01/2026 21:49

Fortunate to have a very good auction house nearby who have a couple of big art sales a year. So far we have bought a couple of original pieces by Pip McGarry and Simeon Stafford plus some quirky posters that I have in my office.
my DH also had a commission done of him in military dress when he retired after a full military service, it’s huge and not my choice but it’s important to him. I keep telling the grandkids to behave or we’ll leave it to them when we die! 🤭

CountryBumpkin22 · 13/01/2026 22:10

Yes! I love it! Some of it has increased in value, some hasn’t! Some are originals, some are limited edition prints, some are my kids pictures. I have nothing generic or printed, everything is ‘art’. You wouldn’t think it if you knew me, but I love my art collection! Everything else is cheap furniture and mismatched mugs 😂

bluenova · 13/01/2026 22:14

posters are great and FY!has a good selection. We have a mix of posters and art by small artists. My favourite pic is by a living french artist edouard cribier.
