What is everyone’s New Years Eve plans?

Just curious how everyone plans to bring in the new year? For me, we will probably go a nice walk tomorrow afternoon, visit some family (I have an Aunt that has a New Year’s Day bday and I need to give her her gift), and then plan to be back home nice and early and have a nice, fancier dinner with DH and 3 DC’s. Will then get youngest DC to bed but let the two eldest stay up late. DH and I will have some drinks and then we’ll go to bed shortly after midnight. 2025 has been a tough year for us. Hoping 2026 is better. What is everyone else planning?

Shopping tomorrow, then laze about in our PJs and have a chinese probably be asleep by 11pm. I’m not big on new years.

Watch Jools annual hootenany and see if we can see the fireworks from our flat, nothing exciting

Lazy day, Fish n chip supper, watch the Hobbit (all sons requests and I am very happy with them all).

I was supposed to be at a party but I’ve had a crappy year and have terrible insomnia at the moment and look/feel exhausted, so I’m not going.
My husband and inlaws are going, adult DC is away with her friends, so I’ll be on my own.
I actually can’t wait lol.(my family are all lovely, it’s me)
I’m going to watch Amandaland, have some snacks and wine, a bath, and go to bed before the bells.
I’ve never really liked NYE, this is the first year I’ve just said nope, I’m not doing it. Feels good.

Good for you, do what makes you happy. One year I set my resolution to learn how to say no, and it was good! I’m sure you don’t look bad, we are all so hard on ourselves. Enjoy your peaceful night.

I am sporting some huge dark circles but really I just want to be at home and do nothing in peace!

Change bedding, have a bath, then sharing chicken wings and Giant Wosits in front of the TV with my dog.

I'm full of cold and feeling lousy so probably not much.

Pub lunch with family. Home, shower, PJs, some wine and TV. DS is out and won't be back until the early hours so I will have an early night, watch TV in bed (rarely do this) and
at midnight watch the fireworks on the hill opposite my house.

My boyfriend is coming over so we’re going have some nice food and non alcoholic wine and relax. It’s the first time since my divorce 11 years ago that I’ve had someone to celebrate NY with so I’m really looking forward to it.

I’ll go into town with my mates about 4pm - drink a few - head to theirs about 8 - drink fizz and wait for 12

Dd1 is out, DD2 is heading back to Bristol tomorrow morning as she’s working tomorrow night (club), DD 3 is having 6 friends over for pizza and drinks.

I’ll be in bed by 12:10!

We are away in Oz and the town we are staying in has various events on. Hiking and snorkelling planned today so I’m hoping 4 DTeens will be at least a bit tired. We will hang out on the beach until early evening, find dinner somewhere and then wander out to see the 9pm fireworks. Some of us might make it to the midnight ones too, depending on whether bed feels more tempting.

DH is going out to a party. I'm settling down with a pizza and the remote control.

Everyman cinema with the kids, food out afterwards, train home, collect partner from mutual friend’s party, stay at party a bit, pick mum up from hers, back home to all watch Hootenanny, drive mum back, bed by 1am ish.

Walking dog ,watching Oz celebrating…my two sons are in Australia’youngest already queuing in Sydney to a park close to opera house.
Meeting friends pm for chat and coffee and then going for supper with neighbours.

Watching the new “Wicked” film with DH in the morning after dropping DD17 at the station. She’s at her GF’s for New Year. I have a very quick doctors appointment in the afternoon then DH & I are going to an out of town shopping centre so I can swap one of my pressies at M & S. Hoping they still have their boxes of milk, dark & white chocolate covered biscuits. Also want to get a few pear & blackberry yogurts. We’re having sirloins, chips & peas for tea ( I have Diane sauce defrosting just for me & will do myself some breaded onion rings). There are Bonne Maman choc mousses if we have room! I’ve bought a bottle of blush Nosecco. The bunnies will come in overnight which is nice for us but not ideal for them. We’ll probably watch a film & the fireworks from London.

Nightshift. I’ll be sleeping during the day (hopefully) I’m working 1900-0700 and sadly expecting to be understaffed and extremely busy. I can’t say I’m looking forward to it i’d much rather be in the house with DP having a drink and watching crap tv!

Going to a Mexican restaurant for dinner with DH and kids and then to a carnival that has fireworks at 9.30 then home to chill. Maybe stay up with DH and have a drink if we can be bothered.

Me too. Currently coughing my guts up . I have had a house full for nearly two weeks and at breaking point. I think I might just stay in bed until they leave now and let OH deal with the guests.

I'll be at work all night from 7pm till 7am making sure Ambulances are sent appropriately to those that need them. Be like a normal shift but extra busy. Hope you all have a lovely/safe Evening l!

Same as I do every year, set off a few fireworks, play boardgames and have a few drinks and eat the traditional new year food of sausages and potato salad. Might struggle to stay awake this year though as I had to get up at half 4 for work. Going to take a nap when I get home then go to sauna to freshen up.

I'm working this morning. DH, DS and I will probably go for a short bike ride and to the pub on the way home.

We're having a fish tray bake and champagne/sparkling grape juice, will play a board game and watch a film.

Must remember the indoor fireworks too.

Nothing. I don't work Wednesdays so I'm taking the Christmas decorations down and then I trip to the supermarket for some bits.
