Does anyone still support this Labour government?

PutTheCakeDOWN · 28/12/2025 12:24

I know NO ONE in real life who still sticks up for them (apart from my mother, and she would support Labour even if KS owned up to creating Covid). Apart from that, all quiet on the western front.

I haven’t seen any support on here, or SM for weeks now.

Is it my algorithm bubble, or are people genuinely disappointed with them? I don’t think it can be the algorithms though, as until a few weeks ago there were still words of support popping up.

For full disclosure I think this government is a total shitshow intent on dismantling British culture, and taxing the private sector to death in order to pay for the public sector. With no long term plan once the private sector is squeezed totally dry. I am BEYOND disappointed with them.

But remember everyone….nobody is sneering here or calling anyone stupid 👍🤣

Do you genuinely not think that using the word Liebour in a serious political discussion is a bit of a stupid thing to do?

You get it more on here for non Labour politicians, without these objections.

We’re on Mumsnet not in Westminster (although actually I think the language is more civilised here). So no, I don’t. I haven’t used ‘Liebour’ but I can see it’s a handy way of making your feelings known.

I prefer ‘Keir Starmer the Farmer Harmer’ as he’s known in my circles.

@Legolava you are absolutely right, this policy has caused nothing but harm to children’s educational opportunities. And was absolutely borne of a spiteful, chip-on-the-shoulder ‘if I couldn’t have it then they shouldn’t’ attitude.
She almost all out said that on R4.

Being able to go to private school and drop back a year has completely turned my daughter around. It is sad that Labour have purposefully taken this chance out of so many families’ reach.

Is the alternative Reform taking money from Putin, the Tories who crashed EVERYTHING and fucked interest rates because they couldn't do think of a better PM than Liz Truss, or the magical boob-expanding Zack Polanski?

I'll take Labour thanks. By and large they are doing a decent job while I am very glad to have the adults in charge of international affairs right now.

Sterlingsilver · 31/12/2025 07:23

I voted for them and wish i hadn't, but there wasn't anyone else and my local Labour mp got in by the skin of his teeth over reform and he is better than reform.

But labour were supposed to tax the super rich and close tax loopholes.

Instead they've continuously attacked the poorest and most vulnerable people in society. I'm hugely concerned about the Childrens Wellbeing bill that will give them more rights to scrutiny over ALL of our children and will give useless local authorities more rights to meddle in your life. Nobody elected them for that shit and yet here we are.

Where in their manifesto did they state an intention to tax the super rich? My recollection is they said no tax rises. And how are they attacking the poorest and most vulnerable? They’re lifting the two child benefit cap.

Have a look it probably won’t take you long to find something.

It does show that people skip over to leap on the Labour ones, if they only notice those.

Agree on the use of the word "Liebour" it just sounds ridiculous and makes anyone lose all credibility.
Way to make yourself sound like a bot or someone who jumps on any "cool and witty" 🙄😂 bandwagon saying (see the totes hilaire Free Gear Kier, amongst others lol)

They’re used a fair bit, I think those who are Labour just notice theirs. Going by the I haven’t seen them replies that seems to be the case.

I honestly don't think I've seen one. Liebour you see everywhere, on here or local FB groups etc.
Which one are you thinking of to say they're used a fair bit? You sound like you've seen it a few times.

I find it all silly so I’ll let you and others see it in your own time. If you only look for Labour ones it’s all you’ll see.

BoxesBoxesEverywhere · 31/12/2025 09:13

I don't "look" for anything, they're just easy to see as they're so prevalent 😁
Kind of telling you don't even have one name on the tip of your tongue though

That’s fine. Ik Labour posters will jump on Liebour etc and either use or scroll past others 🙅‍♀️. As you are showing

LlttledrummergirI · 31/12/2025 09:28

To be fair, I haven't noticed a tory/reform alternative and am happy to be corrected. Good form would usually be to evidence your claims otherwise they appear baseless.

I also don't believe that taxing private education was done to spite people. It was done to raise much needed revenue following the 14 years of conservative mismanagement.

But it’s been proven that it hasn’t done that? And never could have done?

It is pure spite, there is no other reason.

Constantly welcoming extremist anti-British extremists.

Doing nothing to stop the channel crossings.

Doing nothing to promote British culture (they are ashamed of it, rather).

Sowing division and creating class wars.

And not least, their all-out war on rural Britain.

I was going to answer your original post as I thought you were genuinely looking for honest conversation. Unfortunately now realise you are a Mail/ Express reader. The ‘points’ you make here show that you are beyond any semblance of rational debate.

What do they call him? It’s very telling that you continually refuse to provide any examples.
