Over inappropriate behaviour towards women. Anyone surprised?

He was recently on the BBC on The Wheel I think - so he has not been totally ousted, mores the pity

Spookyspaghetti · 19/12/2025 18:57

Good! I feel disgusted every time I see his children’s books

Newsenmum · 19/12/2025 18:58

What has he done? Id always assumed he was gay!

CalzoneOnLegs · 19/12/2025 18:58

@IAmKerplunk the BBC have proved themselves to be totally undiscerning

PollyPlumPeach · 19/12/2025 19:00

TFImBackIn · 19/12/2025 17:05

I'm amazed it was to do with women, tbh, but not surprised it happened at all.

Yeah, that was the only surprising part, not that he was a creep

"A junior colleague is said to have complained about his conduct, leading to other staff members being interviewed. Sources told the newspaper that the investigation led to several junior employees being kept away from the author and one being paid a settlement.Former employees also described how they were advised to work in pairs when meeting with him and told not to visit his home."

Is this actually true?! 😳

That's what I would love to know.

The rumour has been going round for years. If you google "David Walliams sister rumour" there is a lot of online discussion about it.

Mropalsmusic · 19/12/2025 19:02

Simonjt · 19/12/2025 17:03

Ah, lovely news, the fact anyone bought his racist offerings always surprised me.

Exactly. And classist too among other things. It’s about time.

Mropalsmusic · 19/12/2025 19:04

Tigerbalmshark · 19/12/2025 18:28

I have often wondered this myself! I literally do not understand how he has become so famous - he was a glorified panto actor in Little Britain, then somehow his shitty ghostwritten booked ended up everywhere.

I have never met anyone who says their kids like them, so who is actually buying them?

Edited

I’ve met plenty of kids (I work in schools) who like his books!

SpikeGilesSandwich · 19/12/2025 19:09

I’ve never read any of his books so I can’t comment on them but I actively discouraged DC from reading them, simply because he’s such a creep.
He always made me feel uncomfortable, this has to be the least surprising revelation since Savile!

justasking111 · 19/12/2025 19:12

Refused to buy his books. DS was given one and didn't like it thankfully.

He Always gave off icky vibes.

His sister is a private individual not in the public eye, she's just a mum like most of us on here. So I think comments like this are really unfair.

NCearlymitford · 19/12/2025 19:20

How do people know the Guardian has been investigating him?

Timeforanamechangeagain2 · 19/12/2025 19:21

Would be wonderful if this made a bit more space in the market for a greater range of children’s authors.

Well that’s extremely concerning. Makes him sound totally out of control and like
jimmy
saville.

GameOfJones · 19/12/2025 19:23

Not at all surprised, just saddened that it has taken this long. The rumours have been around for years. It must be at least ten years ago I first heard about him inviting teenage BGT contestants to his room. As far as I recall there is video evidence of him pulling that boy's trousers down on stage or there certainly was..... I haven't looked it up for obvious reasons.

His books are disgusting. Some of the content in his children's books is absolutely awful. He's been there in plain sight..... hopefully the big news drops soon.

BrightYellowDaffodil · 19/12/2025 19:23

Extolling his charitable works.
Rumours for years.
Litigious in the face of accusations.

Now, who does that remind me of? 🤔

Returnedforthefudge · 19/12/2025 19:24

Just goes to show that women's spidey senses can always be trusted. I don't know a single woman who doesn't think he's at best odd and worst a sex offender.

Thankfully my DC were either too old or not interested in his books and we watched one on TV I think. But yes agree they were everywhere. No idea if still the case but hope not. He's been a total creep for years. If not always. I've always wondered who finds him funny. But then there's a number of celebrities like him I just don't get.

Hopefully one less. Ever hopeful that one day soon there will be none of his type in the media. But I expect that's unrealistic.

Yes the charitable work often a sign...nothing to see over here.

Odious nails it.

Well done BBC...again 🤦🏻‍♀️

It looks like we have Clares law, Sarahs law and has worked at the BBC.

upinaballoon · 19/12/2025 19:32

When Prince Harry had pottled off to the USA we saw him on top of a bus talking to a jolly modern ever so funny bloke. Was that David Walliams or am I mixing him up with someone else?

Imdunfer · 19/12/2025 19:34

Another bloody male Sleb whose value to an organisation was prized by male senior managers over doing the right thing by their staff.

Change of CEO to a female and well done that woman, she says "sod what he's worth to us, get rid of him! "

Previous guy had paid a young woman off not to complain publically about him, and told the other young women to stay out of Walliam's way. They knew exactly what he was doing.

That will have been filmed yonks ago. He won't be back on that wheel or anywhere else.
