Over inappropriate behaviour towards women. Anyone surprised?

I always thought he was gay

I did too.

Imdunfer · 19/12/2025 19:39

deeahgwitch · 19/12/2025 19:37

I did too.

Professionally camp for career reasons. Just like his real name is plain old Williams.

He's a nasty creepy sleazeball fraud from head to toe.

IAmKerplunk · 19/12/2025 18:57

He was recently on the BBC on The Wheel I think - so he has not been totally ousted, mores the pity

The Bbc platforming a known abuser. Colour me shocked. That whole institute is rotten to the core

Returnedforthefudge · 19/12/2025 19:44

I'd love to think it was a new female CEO but it's definitely more likely to be because of the newspaper making allegations with more to come. They jump quickly these days rather than drag it out (Philip Scofield style). The fact they always knew is of course never relevant

And yes camp persona basically to hide his creepiness. Lots of people thought Jimmy Saville was closeted.

ParmaVioletTea · 19/12/2025 19:44

He’s always given off incel creep vibes to me.

I always wonder if he’s a deeply closeted gay man and alleged sexual harassment as well as his delight in cross dressing are compensations trying to present a heterosexual front.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 19/12/2025 19:46

He had a fling with SIL’s younger cousin and she’d flown to his LA home and found out she wasn’t the only woman in his life when she was there.

Sexually deviant rather than gay. Probably like things not consensual or even generally condoned by most.

justasking111 · 19/12/2025 19:49

He'll turn up in Thailand or somewhere else where human rights are poor.

You're probably right, sadly.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 19/12/2025 19:52

How the hell has it taken this long? His long standing 'friend' and co-writer Matt Lucas dropped him like a stone years ago.

He is a nasty, creepy, weird individual who was hiding in plain sight.

@Bulbsbulbsbulbs the news of the world was owned by Murdoch who also owns Harper Collins - anything that impacted DW’s reputation as the new Roald Dahl was removed and anyone threatening to expose him got the full force of Murdoch’s legal team, who have limitless funds when it comes to protecting money makers.

I was going to ask if the protection of Walliams (if that's what's happened) could really go that far up in the Murdoch empire, to cross over between a newspaper and Harper Collins.

Then I remembered the way News of The World and the rest of the Murdoch media behaved towards police officers investigating the murder of Daniel Morgan and towards the folks investigating NOTW's phone-hacking. IIRC Murdoch's organisation employed PIs to follow and bug them, and it spent months using its newspapers to monster them in an attempt to shut down the investigations.

So actually the suggestion that the Murdoch empire has been protecting Walliams and that it went so far as to quash a NOTW story about him isn't that surprising.

I shall await what comes out in the wash, of course.

Whatswrongherethen · 19/12/2025 19:56

Met him once. Such a creep.

I'm now starting my own personal sweepstake of who will be the next famous (male) creep to finally lose their protection and the silence of those they've abused.

Apart from Huw Edwards - that one took me by surprise

When Prince Harry had pottled off to the USA we saw him on top of a bus talking to a jolly modern ever so funny bloke. Was that David Walliams or am I mixing him up with someone else?

James Corden?

ScreamingBeans · 19/12/2025 18:27

The two things are not mutually exclusive.

There is a huge seam of misogyny in male gay culture, which radical feminists were just beginning to explore when AIDS hit and they dropped everything and stood in solidarity with their gay Brothers and by the time the AIDS crisis had passed, there were other pressing matters to attend to and that very in-depth and wide conversation has never really happened.

But anyway I think he's bisexual. And also a misogynist.

Edited

I thought everyone knew about the misogyny of some gay men

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 19/12/2025 20:05

He should have been dropped because he’s just rehashing Roald Dahl.

SirChenjins · 19/12/2025 20:05

Don't you remember the super injunction. The papers weren't allowed to refer to it. I think Twitter was the only one we saw here and the American press.

I'll check if it's still under wraps.

Returnedforthefudge · 19/12/2025 20:10

SirChenjins · 19/12/2025 20:05

The main actor. I don't watch Downton and he's the only name I know. Does that help?

Oh yes I keep saying to people I really don’t like drag for that reason…the beeb seems to really celebrate it - taking the piss out of women!
