I’ve tried to rewatch them many times, but I’ve still never been able to finish

for me it’s

Greys Anatomy
Lost

Then there are ones like Stranger Things that I just couldn’t get into even though it has so much hype around it.

I lost a huge chunk of my life to Lost. It was brilliant though, until the end. I gave up on the Jennifer Aniston/Reeve Witherspoon series, Prime Time? Should have loved it but couldn't quite stick with it

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/12/2025 19:29

The Morning Show and yes I also gave up on it

The Sopranos I really really tried couldn’t see what the fuss was about

Gilead · 14/12/2025 19:32

Breaking bad, whole family loved it, I was just meh about it!

I had to give up on Homeland, loved it to begin with but couldn’t follow all the twist and turns. I felt myself drifting away.

I’ve never finished the West Wing, another goodie but I dropped out halfway through and can’t pick it up.

FortyFacedFuckers · 14/12/2025 19:33

Also gave up with Lost. Greys, I watched many many seasons of but eventually gave up

Terrier2046 · 14/12/2025 19:34

Supernatural. Gave up a few episodes into whichever season it was where they rescued a baby which turned out to be an evil entity of some sort, so I’d already wasted a lot of my life on it by that point.

Would kind of like to see how it ends but I also CBA to catch up.

ItLooksLikeAFingernail · 14/12/2025 19:36

I'll be lynched for this but I couldn't get into West Wing at all! Just found the characters loud, annoying gobshites.

Notmyreality · 14/12/2025 19:36

The walking dead. After about the third season it just stagnated and was just endlessly depressing while going nowhere fast.

RampantIvy · 14/12/2025 19:36

Peaky Blinders
Yellowstone

Tammygirl12 · 14/12/2025 19:37

Watched about half of Lost and gave up.

also Killing Eve loved series 1 and then series 2 I stopped enjoying it

snugasabug75 · 14/12/2025 19:39

Yellowstone

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/12/2025 19:40

I watched Greys Anatomy religiously for years but stopped when it got stupid about 5-7 series ago.

Nourishinghandcream · 14/12/2025 19:41

Downton Abbey - watched series one but no more.
Call The Midwife - managed the first two series of this.
Sister Boniface Mysteries - gave up after a few minutes of series one episode one. Shame as we love Father Brown.

VenusStarr · 14/12/2025 19:42

Lost
Homeland
Better call Saul
Peaky Blinders
Dexter, new blood (and any of the newer Dexter series)
Nobody wants this
Firefly lane
Virgin River
Sopranos
Greys anatomy
6 feet under
Sabrina (Netflix newer series)
The old man
Interview with the vampire series
Rabbit hole
Dopesick
Mind hunter (?)
Ripper street

There's loads more, can't remember what they're called. If it doesn't get me early on, I'm afraid I don't commit.

username2373 · 14/12/2025 19:50

Most of them!
They start really good but then they just start being repetitive and/or boring.

The ones I watched till the end and enjoyed were Shogun and Ludwig (but they are only short).
The other one I’m sticking with so far, although watching once in a few months, rather than binging on it, is The Great (Catherine).

I really enjoyed the West Wing but I found the lighting and muffled dialogue really off putting. I could only watch it with subtitles. I did find myself a little bit in love with Jed Bartlett. I think if the Democrats could persuade Martin Sheen to run for office they might be in with a shout.

Soubriquet · 14/12/2025 20:10

The Boys.

It was interesting at first and then it got weird

BertieBotts · 14/12/2025 20:16

Can't even remember what it was called but it was one where a load of people were on a flight that vanished into some kind of wormhole for 4 years and then reappeared. It started out really intriguing and interesting but just got completely stupid by about halfway through series 2 and by series 3 I lost the plot and never bothered finishing it. It was a shame because it was such an interesting premise for a series.

I gave up on Supernatural at about the same time as the PP who mentioned it. It all got a bit silly. It started out good with the let's defeat various supernatural beings, then they got too much into "Let's defeat the most evil demon ever!" "Oh no actually there's an eviller one!" "Turns out we need to fight the actual devil!" "Oh no, actually god is also evil, let's fight his agents" the writers never seemed to leave themselves any leeway for it to make sense so they just had to keep inventing such convoluted shit every new season.

RedRiverShore5 · 14/12/2025 20:21

Greys Anatomy
Sopranos
The Wire

TinselTina · 14/12/2025 20:26

Handmaid's tale

TheeNotoriousPIG · 14/12/2025 20:38

Downton Abbey- I have tried to watch this, and I've seen the first series several times over, but nothing much seems to happen, unfortunately.

The Handmaid's Tale- I read the book very quickly, but after the first few episodes, my attention wanes. I've never been past episode 5!

I haven't really enjoyed the last few series of Call the Midwife, despite loving the earlier ones, so I fear that might be going the same way!

Handmaid's tale

Oh yes! The first series was great, loved it. Went downhill after that. Gave up on the 3rd series.

PegDope · 14/12/2025 21:40

Wednesday. We couldn’t see what was happening it was literally so dark.

Stranger Things. Meh.

Virgin River after season 2.

The latest season of Only Murders in the Building. It’s a shame because the first two were fantastic.
