Just horrendous. There was a big Jewish gathering on the beach. Jewish festival goers targeted by two gunmen. At least ten people dead according to police.

Absolutely dreadful. That civilian who wrestled that gunman undoubtedly saved lives with his actions. Incredible bravery.

BDenergy · 14/12/2025 11:05

alamak · 14/12/2025 11:01

More fascist than the ones spending their sunday afternoons gunning down innocent people at the beach, including children?

Of course not but it still exposes an agenda. This incident is horrific enough without including their lens on it.

If anyone in London would like to show support for the Jewish community here and around the world you will be welcomed at the Menorah lighting in Trafalgar Square tomorrow…

www.london.gov.uk/events/chanukah-square-2025

I'm too far away to attend that, but I hope it gets lots of support ' I hope that it too isn't targeted.

BackToLurk · 14/12/2025 11:05

habin · 14/12/2025 10:32

they were targeting a jewish festival, deliberately.

To be fair to @Whenlifegiveslemons The Guardian for one outlet resisted mentioning a Jewish festival was targeted for as long as they possibly could without appearing unseemly. (I know, the Guardian. Shocked )

BDenergy · 14/12/2025 11:06

MeouwKing · 14/12/2025 11:01

The BBC just showed the video. The bystander is a massive bloke. The gunman runs off. He didn't like it when the tables are turned and the gun was pointed at him.

Fine then show the BBC link and not a link from raise the colours.

Americano75 · 14/12/2025 11:06

Sometimes I hate this planet.

Cherrysoup · 14/12/2025 11:07

The guy just bops up and takes the gun! Hero!

SpottyAardvark · 14/12/2025 11:07

The BBC & the Guardian are not showing the clear facial images of the murderers which other mainstream media outlets have published. Big fucking surprise.

This tells you everything you need to know about their agenda and whose side they are on. Because Jews don’t count.

MeouwKing · 14/12/2025 11:07

If I was a medic, I am not sure if I could treat the injured gunman.

alamak · 14/12/2025 11:08

Buffypaws · 14/12/2025 10:56

I can’t believe it but I also think it was inevitable. i was horrified by scenes (chanting) in Australia 2 years ago

It was "Gas the Jews" just immediately after Oct 7. On the steps of the iconic Sydney Opera House. Terror simps -of which there are plenty in the west- gave permission for the shooting today and many other acts of violence against random western jewish citizens going about their lives. Because attacking synagogues, kindergartens and picnickers means stopping the war many thousands of km away? No, it fucking doesnt. It means many are latching onto the I-P war to feed nascent antisemitism.

I have friends who are going, and just hope and pray there isn't a repetition

As a pp said, one of the worst aspects of this horror is that it comes as no surprise at all
In the meantime, thoughts are with everyone who's suffered

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 14/12/2025 10:52

Come on. You've said several times on this thread that it wasn't being reported that it was an attack on a Jewish event. Now you're saying you hadn't even bothered to look beyond the headlines.

You made a bad error of judgement (let's be charitable). You suggested nobody would know they were Jews unless they were wearing badges to identify them as such. When others reacted with horror, you didn't apologise and ask for your post to be withdrawn, you told them they were all horrible for seeing the obvious connection with the Nazis. Go off and do a namechange and think harder before posting another time.

Well said @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g
No notes.

I agree. And those people all have blood on their hands.

@SpottyAardvark

I’m surprised other outlets have shown the faces tbh. One is dead I think so family won’t know yet & they don’t know how many people were involved.

pforpig · 14/12/2025 11:10

First the US shooting now this. I thought Australia had strong gun control.

I’m close.
But I don’t feel it’s safe to go.
Sad, but it’s just the reality of how I feel.

No, that is a terrible thing to do. Do your job, save the scum's life and then make an example of him. But the man who kicked him while he was on the ground? I would personally buy him many, many beers. Aussie police have arrested him.

They do. But if someone has a strong enough desire they’ll find a way to get one.

Bearing in mind that this is the first shooting in Australia in a long time, whereas shootings in the US are a daily occurrence.

ChristmasMantleStatue · 14/12/2025 11:13

Police just confirmed there was a bomb as well in a car.

Nothingbutstress · 14/12/2025 11:18

My post was very quickly deleted by MN. I was pointing out the bloodshed and violence that occurs usually by certain perpetrators. Any criticism of a particular religion seems to removed very quickly, but it seems fine to criticize any other religion except Islam.

Again, big fucking surprise. 🙄

EsmaCannonball · 14/12/2025 11:19

I guess a large contingent in the west will be happy that the intifada they keep calling for is being globalised. I do genuinely mean that. The last couple of years have really exposed how many people among us have a deep hatred of Jews. Keffiyeh-wearing university students, Gary Lineker, Liam Cunningham, Greta Thunberg, Guy Pearce; they've all expressed views that would have Adolf Eichmann cheering and are completely unembarrassed about it.

Pretty racist, both posts
