Just horrendous. There was a big Jewish gathering on the beach. Jewish festival goers targeted by two gunmen. At least ten people dead according to police.

So do you also think Muslim countries shouldn't exist?

Quite, I think it just demonstrates why Israel needs to exist. Jews living before the modern itineration of Israel were harassed and killed in the countries they lived in and now there is a majority Jewish state they are harassed and killed. Some people just hate Jews. Thats the truth of the matter.

Yes, I mean, do they even know what 'globalise the Intifada means? They are calling for 'global uprisings' against the Jews. So some OAP's on a day out cheering people calling calling for global terrorism! Do they think this is just a catchy phrase?

They are uninformed and swallow any catchphrase that sounds nice and is phrased in right-on language, even if the meaning is the opposite. They hear soundbites about suffering and unfairness and liberation and think that all sounds worth fighting for, and don't look any further than that, to the fact that this terrorist government constantly starts wars and violence and pays its citizens to commit murder.

Palestinian cartoons show characters becoming martyrs, and primary school textbooks include instructions on making pipe bombs. These well-meaning ignorant people don't understand this because it's so far from their experience.

What scares me is that some parents from my children's school are involved in helping families from Gaza relocate to the UK. They wear heavily politicised clothing to school (such as the map of Israel covered by the Palestinian flag).

seafoamhair · 15/12/2025 04:39

Police have found a third bomb, news said an hour or so ago.

Quoting this bit : "What scares me is that some parents from my children's school are involved in helping families from Gaza relocate to the UK. They wear heavily politicised clothing to school (such as the map of Israel covered by the Palestinian flag)."

The Jewish Chronicle of sept 2, 2005, reports the UK is taking injured children from Gaza, and : " “We have done the same for all the Chevening scholars and are now in the process of doing so for the next group of students from Gaza who have been awarded fully funded scholarships and places at UK universities so that they can start their studies in autumn this year.”

Are you sure these are refugees from Gaza wearing this politicised clothing, and not somewhere else ?

They were islamic fundamentalists, who were mistakenly let into Australia AND given a firearms licence.

Let in? The son was born here, and the father came here in 1998. People get radicalised online these days.

Father and son in an air bnb, that's not easy to catch.

I've read they pretended they were off on a fishing trip. But they lived in the Bonnyrigg home owned by the mother of the young shooter and wife of the dead shooter.

White Christian Nationalist terrorism.

You can google it.

You can count the attacks by Christians on one hand. The death toll in Australia from attacks by Christians is THREE.
The Christchurch attack was exceptional. In Australia Christians have pretty much killed cops and seem to be motivated by hostility to authority more than religion. (The US doesn't count, it's hard to distinguish the nuts with guns from each other. )

Only Islamic terrorists target random civilians including children, and seem to go out of their way to target people of particular faiths. (Again- Christchurch stands out because it's exceptional). See Bondi, see all the Christmas attacks in Europe.

I'm not anti Muslim (the guy who tackled the shooter was a Muslim!) but Islamic fundamentalism is so obviously the problem here. Not sure why you wouldn't admit that. It's not bigoted, it's facts.

And Christians. I guess you never heard of ETA or the IRA?
Anders Breveik, the Norwegian neo-nazi terrorist who killed 69 people including 33 children, was not a Muslim. Nor was the unibomber.

ETA are motivated by nationalism.
When was the most recent IRA attack?
Brevik wasn't motivated by Christianity and neither was uni bomber and they didn't target people of any faith. They also stand out as unique terrorists because they're unique.... from 10-30 years ago.
Islamic terrorist attacks are too numerous and continuous to count. It's undeniable.

Clearly , he wasn't reviewed properly for his firearms licence to own six huge guns. That needs to be looked at straight away. And what is the point of gun clubs ( the reason he was approved for a firearm licence)? There ain't know wild pigs in Bonnyrigg. Stupidity by whoever approved his firearms licence. I am so so sorry for the people caught up in this terrorist attack. All it will do will make more people racist ; but we are the most successful multi- cultural country in the world.
I live a couple of hours north of my adult DC who checked with each other and then rang me immediately to say they hadn't been to Bondi today. That is so fucked, that they had to do that.
Fuck him and his son and his family. Having a go at our way of life. Murdering people. Please piss off.

InlandTaipan · 15/12/2025 05:25

@Manova14 oh and the Oklahoma bombing - 167 killed, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols - Christians.

Lot of fingers on that one hand of yours.

One case from over thirty years ago says nothing about our current problems.
Islamic fundamentalism is the problem. No other religion.

At least I stick up for Jewish people, unlike some people.

It looked to me like you were defending some god.

And that's the odd thing, it's always people who do that, never the god in question.

Anyway, I am sure you know there are secular and atheist jews as well as believers. So I am not sure why the need to try to prove any god exists.

The terrorists likely did this in the name of their god, which is supposedly the same god as Jews and Christians believe in.

Some of us would just rather people did not kill in the name of any God.

Manova14 · 15/12/2025 05:29

Why are some people so eager to deflect attention from Islamic terrorism? "Nothing to see here", well normal people can see it clearly.

They were Christians. Your claim was that terrorist attacks in Western countries are only perpertrated by Muslims. That only Muslim terrorists target innocent civilians.

I think you'll find that the perpetrators of the current atrocity were motivated by antisemitism.

You know perfectly well I meant terrorism motivated by religion.

I've now said this umpteen times:

Multiple posters said that Judaism was fake and didn't exist. That's a terrible thing to say on a thread about Jewish people being killed for their religion.

It's really not that hard to understand.

I'm puzzled as to why you don't appear to follow the simple logic: Denial of religion on a thread about a religious killing = sticking up for the victims' religion = religion backed up by science bc atheists like proof.

I talked about science, not any god, so I'm unsure why you think I was defining a god.

@marmalade007 Copying you, because it's you who've lost the thread of the conversation, not me.
