Are you a dust every day or dust when you see its dusty person?

I am the latter, am trying to dust every day but with work / animals/ caring responsibilities it just gets left.
Im hoping that a daily 10 mins will save me the twice a week 50 mins to do it all.

I do certain tasks on certain days.

Twice a year without fail.

Twice a year without fail.

Yep.

Once you can write notes to each other in the dust it's probably time to give it a swipe.

TheIncredibleBookEatingManchot · 07/12/2025 10:36

I'm a dust when we have visitors coming if I notice the dust kind of person.

CandyCaneKisses · 07/12/2025 10:37

Twice a year? I dust a few times a week to keep on top of it as it makes cleaning so much faster.

Ifailed · 07/12/2025 10:37

If I take my glasses off, I can't see dust. Hence why I often stumble about my place bumping into furniture.

This is me

Pepperedpickles · 07/12/2025 10:38

Maybe once a week when I can be bothered. Used to be much more into cleaning etc than I am now. Now it just feels like a bit of a waste of time; there’s other things I’d rather be doing.

Dust when I move house. Not in between. It's been 10 years now. If every horizontal surface is cluttered with stuff, there's nowhere for dust to gather. Win!

I already do that when I look in a mirror 🤓

Every couple of months maybe. It's back about 20 minutes after dusting so I fail to see the point of trying to keep on top of it.

uhtredofbattenberg · 07/12/2025 10:41

Definitely when I see it . It's not satisfying to dust or clean if it doesn't bother you first.

FamilyPhoto · 07/12/2025 10:43

Its dust from the log burner plus dog hair so its very noticeable.

Get to fuck! Does ANYONE other than a servant do daily dusting? I'm lucky if I put my dirty knickers in the laundry basket daily.

A friend swears by doing it every day, only takes 10 mins she says, similar sized house.

I just a do a bit clean every Saturday morning and then the rest of the week is just keeping on top of bits.

bizkittt · 07/12/2025 10:55

I don’t remember when I last time I dusted. House untidy/dusty but so what.

user2848502016 · 07/12/2025 10:55

Can I be a dust never person?

(joking but I certainly don’t dust regularly- every day seems insane)

rainbowstardrops · 07/12/2025 10:57

I seem to be the only person in my house (me, DH, 2 x adult DC) that can see the dust, so if you can’t beat them then join them is what I say. DH will dust if I ask him to but he won’t think to do it himself 🙄
I’ll probably run the duster round before we get the Christmas decorations out during the week.

itsthetea · 07/12/2025 10:57

Weekly

FadedRed · 07/12/2025 11:02
  1. before expected visitors
  2. before I put the Christmas decorations up This year 1 has coincided with 2, so yeah! One dust less this year 😂
BauhausOfEliott · 07/12/2025 11:02

I don’t even dust when I notice the dust. I dust when I notice the dust and when people are coming round or I can bring myself to give a shit.
