A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Are they? Didn't Polanski call Starmer a pound shop Enoch Powell?

Are they? Didn't Polanski call Starmer a pound shop Enoch Powell?

Apparently so.
Polanski has said that he couldn't live with himself if he allowed Farage in through the back door. His main priority is keeping Reform out, so he says.

If this happens then it will only serve as a catalyst for a RefCon alliance.

Not ideal, but better than the alternatives.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 16/12/2025 12:14

Yes, and basically back to two party politics.

redange · 16/12/2025 12:25

If Labour voters want someone who advocates for a free for all on Class A Drugs and total freedom to work for potential Terrorists. I 'weep' for the country that there are up to 30% of the electorate who could go for that. There, has to be at least 5% of Labour voters for who Polansky is un- acceptable.

redange · 16/12/2025 12:29

A Polansky and Labour collation would bring so much Economic Growth as well as a structured and Cohesive Society (not) ! How, can we have so many 'idiotic' and misguided people in this country, including Oxford University Students to equate to 30% of a potential Collation.

This week's YouGov

Reform - 28 (+1)
Labour - 18 (-1)
Cons - 17 (-1)
Green - 17 (+2)
Lib Dem - 14 (-)

The Greens now making noises about an informal pact with Labour to keep Reform out.

Labour still 3rd in Scotland.

Proportion of previous Labour voters switching to Reform up to 13% (up from approx 7% in summer).

Who are all these people who would vote green?!

They haven’t got a scooby. We’d be bankrupt within a year.

CambridgeSingers · 16/12/2025 13:07

It’s genuinely troubling - when you add up public sector workers, people on UC etc, it’s easy enough to see why you always end up with 30 percent roughly on either side always voting for right or left and the outcome is determined by the centrist switchers.

redange · 16/12/2025 13:09

I have just done an interesting calculation based on the figures from You Guv assuming if one party stood down from a seat the Conservative/Reform Labour/ Green in each constituency. Conservative/Reform 45%: 406 Seats Labour Green 35%: 168 Lid Dem 13%: 41 seats SNP 9. Obviously, the seat projections are questionable , but it highlights that 45% Share on the Right should be enough to ensure no Labour/Green Coalition.

SpaceRaccoon · 16/12/2025 13:26

The Greens now making noises about an informal pact with Labour to keep Reform out.

That will be a total recipe for social unrest as a big section of society will feel completey disaffected at that point.

This isn't my first stalking incident, it won't be the last. This particular weirdo would make a shit detective, thats for sure.

One of my dc is indeed a doctor. If anyone desperately needs more detailed information about my dc, or my personal life, for some twisted, unhinged reason, they can ask via PM. I won't be discussing it on MN with my latest superfan.

In this case, your deflecting allegations of 'stalking' add up to nothing more than my well-honed BS radar and no more than 30 seconds on AS confirming my hunch. Really not that deep, dramatic or difficult, if one has a basic grasp of arithmetic and even the most cursory knowledge of medicine courses.

Five years is the absolute minimum study duration for non-grad medicine anywhere. So 23 is the absolute minimum qualification age for a doctor, even before taking account of factors like planned or unplanned gap years for second round applications, missing grades or just finding oneself.

Neither my doctor DC nor I agree with the current strikes but saying (or concurring) that striking resident doctors are 'shameless dicks' is just hateful. Any UK medic parent understands the nuance of the current resident doctor situation and that the issues go well beyond pay, irrespective of how the BMA/media choose to frame it.

I'm very happy to leave this thread now but wishing you all the very best with any future delusions, fantastical musings (and dodgy maths).

Meanwhile, I just received a mail shot from the RNLI, seeking donations, with the following heading…

OUR CHARITY IS INDEPENDENT FROM GOVERNMENT AND POWERED BY YOU.

One imagines they must be feeling the pinch?

I’m sure @TheNuthatch knows her dc better than someone searching posts, erroneously summing them up. And agree with @Prometheus78

SpaceRaccoon · 16/12/2025 15:04

It's almost as if people can have more than one child.

hamstersarse · 16/12/2025 15:26

I guess that the thing about the Greens is that lefties also have no political home now after the disaster of this Labour government, and the only alternative they see is this buffoon.

I see it more as a protest vote thing at the moment, and not too concerned as he literally talks utter shite - any indepth interview would expose him as being a lunatic. Yet, where will the lefties go? If the Lib Dems got more sensible with their leader maybe they might add something to the mix, but with that Davey guy, they've no chance

Christ. Wtf is wrong with you? Sorry to burst your bubble, but you know nothing about my family. I really don't care what you think or believe.

Are you seriously expecting me to give personal details about my dc to prove it to some random on the internet? Do you want my dc's full name, address and date of birth? Recent photograph with stethoscope? Step back and check yourself.

I won't be engaging again.

God, we get some boundary-less, deficient weirdos on this thread.

The employment rights bill is such a colossal act of self sabotage - the Lord's have given them an out to walk away from this and use them as the scapegoat - idiot Rayner won't be deterred from ballooning youth unemployment though.

NoWordForFluffy · 16/12/2025 17:05

I hate to correct you, but it's Chas and Dave!

As for Rayner and this Bill? 🙄 She's an idiot.

The brass neck.

Anyone with a modicum of self-awareness, caught out evading tax, would have quietly disappeared into the night.

Unfuckingbelievable.
