A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Let’s hope you never need a doctor since you hold them in such low regard! I have a doctor DC. My DC and their peers took six years to qualify in the UK never slipped any grades. They are consistently treated like s£&@t by successive UK governments. It is a lot more troubling and complex a picture than “shameless dicks” and any parent of a doctor should know that.

I am also a parent of a doctor, so get off your high horse.
This strike, at this particular time is shameful. My doctor ds also agrees. Do no harm eh? The BMA are a disgrace.

My dad had just had a hospital ointment cancelled for Thursday this week. It was a rescheduled one from September and they’re now saying it will be late January before they can fit him in.

He has a neurological condition that needs careful management but by January it will be 6 months since he last saw someone - he’s supposed to be checked over every 2-3 months 😤

Sorry to hear that @CaveMum
My FIL has an important appointment next week too. No news yet but he's worried sick that it will be cancelled, as are we. He has prostate cancer.

My brother is a doctor. "Shameless dicks" is mild compared to his comments about the heartless strikers.

The junior doctors striking amidst a flu crisis is not going to be a good look for them - surely the ban can see that has PR disaster written all over it…

They are not doing themselves a favour.

Public sympathy is slipping anyway, this will further damage their cause.

I'm surprised they can't see that.

Really? You have previously posted that your DS slipped A level grades three years ago and then took a gap year. RL doctors don't qualify in two years...in any country.

TheNuthatch · 15/12/2025 17:26

I have posted no such thing. He did take a gap year which I have posted about, but the rest is not accurate.

Fauchon might not have raised her (or his) head above the parapet before now, but judging by that last comment, he/she appears to have been lurking and closely following @TheNuthatch's posts.

The pp should start a thread to see how much support there is for a doctor's strike.

Good idea.

Go on, Fauchon, try and see what happens.

It looks like you haven’t got this right. It’s a bit invested.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 15/12/2025 18:10

The amusing thing is that the left supported all the doctors’ strikes under the Tories but now think the doctors are appalling for striking, Labour argues, on public health grounds, which is no greater an argument than it ever was.

It’s all political at the end of the day. And Labour are the rulers now, until the next election. So suck it up it Labour.

Upstartled · 15/12/2025 18:10

Prometheus78 · 15/12/2025 16:40

I think the PP was referring to the timing of the strike action.

Thanks. I was referring to the BMA and the timing. I thought it was pretty obvious but you forget to spell things out for the watchers.

Prometheus78 · 15/12/2025 18:30

@Fauchon

You will not find much support on this thread, if any, for the resident doctor’s strikes.

Secondly, you come across as confrontational, and with an unhealthy interest in a PP.

Wow, stalker much. Have you built some kind of database on people?

Prometheus78 · 15/12/2025 18:34

Sir Keir Starmer has ended a painful political year by admitting that speculation about a leadership coup is “rife” and complaining about how long it takes him to get things done.

The UK prime minister finishes 2025 with his approval ratings at rock bottom, Labour languishing below 20 per cent in the polls and with his own MPs debating whether he can survive in Downing Street until the end of next year.

Starmer was questioned by MPs on Monday on a series of leaks relating to his leadership and was challenged on whether he could confirm where they were coming from. “No, I’m not sure I can,” he said. “It seems to be pretty rife.

No shit, Starmer.
