Caroline Flack - she was so let down

Just watched the documentary, it’s so sad. She was treated so awfully by the press and police.

I feel so bad for her mum and friends and family 😢

You could say that about any predator or abuser.

I would say it about anyone. You don't slag of peoples loved one who have died. When someone you love dies especially to something like suicide it is horrific and heart breaking. Having a load of randoms on the Internet who have no clue about the actual truth slagging her of is vile. If someone you know lost there daughter, sister, friend would you walk up to them just to tell them what a horrible person you thought they where or would you show a little bit of decency and respect. They are the victims here. You don't like Caroline thats fine but she isn't the one reading these messages.

I don’t think anyone is saying anything untrue. And if it were my loved one I’d avoid such threads. People should guard themselves if they’ll be upset from what strangers on the internet say.

But why should people have to guard themselves from nasty people hiding behind a screen. Didn't anyone ever teach you if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. What makes you think you can say whatever you want no matter who it hurts just because you feel like it.

But didn’t her mother do a documentary - which is starting a conversation with the public

He was 16 when he participated in the X factor… where they met and where the power imbalance was created.

It would be the same as if a teacher slept with her student a few months after he left school.

He was a child. And you’re defending a 30 odd year old woman grooming him into a sexual relationship.

It sort of reminds me of a 32 year old prince dating a 19 year old girl whom he had
he met some years before. There was a power imbalance there too.

19 isn’t as young as 17 but the age gap is way too big for a start. Legal doesn’t always make it morally right imo.

She did a documentary to try and explain the truth not for people to stick the knife in further.

Why should people have to guard themselves from speaking the truth about abuse just because it might hurt someone’s feelings?

Their feelings aren’t more important than speaking about her awful behaviour.

Her family seem not to give a flying fuck about Lewis’ feelings or those of his family. They’re happy to make documentaries pointing fingers at her friends etc.

In fact, if they’d had more concern about their feelings and hadn’t made this documentary, this thread wouldn’t have even been started.

So what’s take from that is that people didn’t agree with the documentary portrail

it’s still starting a conversation with the public - the public are discussing and saying what they think here on a thread for the public to discuss things

Then speak about abuse but don't slag of someones dead daughter

I do when they were abusive.

Doggielovecharlotte · 22/11/2025 20:34

Often families of suicide want to blame someone one other than themselves or the person and they will do their upmost to write the truth they need (no one is to blame imv)

I haven’t seen any of the coverage but I can tell people on here aren’t buying it

But calling someone a predator and an abuser isn't a discussion

Absolutely i have lost a love one to suicide and I blame the mh services in this country. I've never blamed my loved one for being mentally unwell.

So long as it’s the truth, we have no responsibility to censor our opinion of abusers and predators to save the feelings of their family.

I want people to not write nasty things about people who have died online knowing there is a chance their loved ones will read it.

Yes you are contributing to how things are discussed here

GumFossil · 22/11/2025 20:52

Caroline’s storey was all but forgotten (apart from, obviously, to those who knew her). Her mum has brought it back into focus and discussion through this new documentary. A mistake, imho.

TBF though, CF’s family are keeping it up for discussion by making another TV documentary about it.

You can’t expect to keep putting a story in the public eye and expect that public not to have an opinion on it or only have one which agrees with yours.

Most people have forgotten about CF and it’s not nasty to say she alone is responsible for the choices that led to her taking her own life.

No you're still unhinged @Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim she didn't groom him when he was underage - they happened to be together on the same show. Where are you getting this from? Where have you found evidence of grooming? They dated when he was 17 which is legal and they were mutually attracted to each other - no crime was committed. You can hardly call her a predator - she did nothing wrong. In your opinion is Cheryl Cole a predator because she knew Liam Payne when he was on X factor and dated him later in life? Plenty of people have relationships with age gaps.

I think Cheryl Cole is very questionable - again power dynamics and person without the power very young

I just think because the public have made a narrative she is a national treasure/darling it’s not questioned

but I question it (before reading anyone else’s opinion)

Post of the day.

I am thinking not just of the John Lennon Airport but the Ian Fleming one in Jamaica - that said, not sure Fleming was abusive but in his marriage was no saint.

And also 'that said' - I suppose these 2 men contributed something to popular culture and we can debate all day to what extent that mitigates, and was the full extent of their misdemeanours known when said airports were renamed etc. Flack hosted Love Island which really does seem like a dodgy programme to me.

PS Obliged to out myself as a bloke on this post.

I'm from northern ireland and we have belfast city george best airport

Plenty of people questioned it and commented on it right up until his death.
People were all thought of his young girlfriend but at least she was on the same trajectory as him in terms of life and experience. They looked as if they were going to build a family together.

Maybe their loved ones shouldn't be trying to alter the truth.
