That's hilarious. No one wanted to buy it for Easter when it might have been more appropriate so they've repurposed it as a Christmas crucifix.

🤣

CloseEncountersOfTheTurdKind · 29/11/2025 11:56

This is being sold on my local Facebook for £10!

Good grief. I make better tat than all examples so far, and I wouldn’t dream of offering it for sale! My darling family do sometimes have to put up with it but only if they ask! 🤣 It makes me happy but I know most people wouldn’t give it bin room let alone house room! 🤣

I use the❤️one instead.

We have some delightful crochet Christmas trees which the seller notes are 'Amazing for couples, kids, nice stocking filler!'

Couples? Really?

And they're to suit every decorative choice! Although the pink, cream and salmon one feels... wrong.

These are quite cute but I wouldnt pay £6 for it. I would want paying 6 quid for taking it away 🤣

Mostly the listings are pretty good, decent looking homemade things.
This, however, is in a league of its own.

Edited

Looks like Kevin the carrot spent a little too long on the sun bed

Mothership4two · 29/11/2025 11:49

And another one! Stick reindeers are obviously the in thing this year

judging by poor Rudolph’s facial expression looks like Santa rode more than just the sleigh he was pulling

MincePudding · 29/11/2025 12:26

Wow. Really nasty and bitchy thread.

Some of those stuff is really nice and even the stuff that isn't os clearly made by people trying to earn a few extra quid.

Noone is making you buy it and I think.its really scummy to make and contribute to such a nasty thread.

I'm sure plenty will reply to this telling me to ignore it if i don't like it (as you could have done yourselves about people putting themselves out there) but maybe one or two of you will feel the shame you should about being so nasty just to feel like you're having a cool-girl bitch fest.

Grow the fuck up.

johntorodesfatcheeks · 29/11/2025 12:31

what is this supposed to be? Even the artiste has called it “deco” Nothing is to scale 😆

One word - horrible.

£30? The actual lego wreath is much nicer and by that yardstick amazing value for money.

This is the top prize winner.

makes me think of the wicker man for some reason, is it a festive fertility thing?
does the rider reattach it to their bike on 6th January in keeping with Yuletide tradition?

do they clean in between the tyre treads? Are they oily round the cogs?

Oily round the cogs is a brilliant way of saying a bit dim.

OMG what a great thread. The carrot and the Ebola dog. PMSL.

Here are my first contributions

You need to take your own advice and unclench. It's obviously a light-hearted thread about hilariously awful tat that is so bad it's funny. If it's not your thing/sense of humour then scroll off.

If the posts were on the sellers' pages, then your argument might have some traction, but they aren't, they are on a different site and anonymous (although the sellers selling utter rubbish probably would deserve it). I'm sure the sellers are aware they aren't selling creative masterpieces, but basic items that they haven't spent much time on (with the hope of shaking down a few mugs).

I'd suggest you stop being grinchy

Mothership4two · 29/11/2025 13:32

@HelloDenise

I do fancy one of those cats!

I see the cost of living crisis has hit him too.

Perhaps the government should start measuring inflation based on the price of the 12 days of Christmas monstrosity instead of a shopping basket.

He must rue the day he 'well and truly embedded' the figurines in plaster of Paris. They're probably saleable individually.

So what due diligence did you do to assure yourself that your screenshots won't be seen by the people who made them? Because I'm sure noone on Facebook is also on mumsnet.

Suggest you think back on this thread next time someone mocks your family and remember that you were quite happy to join in when it was someone else's mum, brother, daughter or other family member.

What, are you implying that someone who had in fact made some of this shite and then come across it being tittered about on mumsnet might spiral?

perhaps you’d better share your due diligence policy and enlighten us mean girls in that case
