Hmm, I have 2 theories:

1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.

Holly's hen do is Holly's hen do, not Adam's, not his mother's. Holly can invite whoever she wants.

Adams mum is the one who took him to all his training, galas, all the 4am starts. There are so few working class people on MN and so little empathy for them, this has been an interesting read. I feel very sorry for her, maybe they are 'rough', maybe she is worried about photos when she is in a £40 dress and the Ramsays are in £5K VB numbers, who knows.

We do know AP was an alcoholic and already has a child from a ONS, he is hardly the picture of perfection is he? If he is good enough for the Ramsays, why isn't the woman who gave birth to him?

Obviously we don't know and she could be a fist fighting toxic nightmare but she's good enough to babysit for his kids wouldn't stopping that be the first priority of a decent man with a lunatic for a mum?

I thought the same - he was happy for her to babysit his son whilst he partied on his stag do, so she can’t be that bad if he trusts her with his DC.

It read to me that his ex has arranged for her to look after George whilst the hen was happening. I think the article said something about Adams mum dropping him home to his ex's house. So she (the ex) seemingly doesn't have an issue with Adam's mum seeing her grandson.

Despite his gold medals I’m not sure he’s overly thankful nor enjoyed it too much in his younger years. Considering he had to take time away from pools due to how the pressure added or was the cause of his mental health issues. Considering at one point he declared he never wanted to see a pool again.

Though his clearly since worked though all this. I wonder if that’s tied up with his feelings towards his mother however being the one taking him to all these training sessions and such.

and sadly too many people do let people who they shouldn’t watch their children. You only have to read threads on here to see the turmoil some adults go though knowing their parent was shit but feeing their child should be given the chance at a relationship because maybe they changed, maybe they won’t be the same.

Someone said online that apparently these were not real police officers, but private (Ramsey's) and that GR has been briefing the press. Obviously no idea if true, but my oh my, what a mess. Really not a good sign for this couple and the whole Ramsey family and AP look bad. His family shouldn't have gone to the press, but this looks like a final straw after many issues they stayed silent on, IMO - probably emotions run high now because it's so close to Christmas and the wedding and lots of upset caused. Very sad. AP and HR won't last, IMO.

Well quite and no MOB gets disinvited from their child’s wedding for being working class so there is clearly much more to this than aunt’s narrative.

There is no final straw I would ever get to with my family where briefing the press was the next step.

Unless you know them you can’t possibly speculate as to whether the relationship will last. The Ramsays are just people.

He doesn't have a child from an ONS, his ex partner got pregnant quickly but they stayed together for a while. There was a whole lot of stories about their break up, not many positive about AP, whereas she seems like a very decent, down to earth woman. She's a qualified painter and artist IIRC.

That is Prince Harry level of security and even he wasn't deemed to be in need of it, so why on earth was Adam Peaty. As you say, he's only a bloody swimmer and if the police had proof that the threat to his life was so grave then why didn't they make any arrests.

I agree for me the second my family decided airing issues in a way they knew they would end up in the paper and then continued to sell stories.

They would be low low contact. I would be keeping my actual nearest and dearest away from them Such as my Children and partner.

Before more stories and secrets and who knows lies are sold.

I bet every single person invited to that wedding would be hugely on edge after this if the mum and aunties were still invited.

Would make for a very uptight non enjoyable wedding. Very very best show behaviour incase stories and photos are sold.

why am I not surprised. It’s all media/publicity bollocks. There’s no such thing as private police, so total exaggeration for sympathy. They would have been private security, who aren’t allowed airside so nobody got escorted off a plane. Maybe out the airport. plus the original media reports said “armed”, again not true if they’re private security.

I’m pretty sure even Gordon Ramsey isn’t stupid enough to actually think Adam’s aunt/mother/brothers are a credible threat to their physical safety so no need.

Wtf are private police? The family hired security guards in other words. Very misleading to make out that it was armed police in the press. I’m swinging more the other way again now.

This just gets messier and messier. What a shame it seems they were once a close family. They need to stop talking to the press and try to repair the family, if it’s not too late.

Some speculation is more grounded than others. Predicting a relationship won’t last when you’ve net met either partner is pointless.

So Adam had fallen out with both his brothers prior to this. Interesting. My gut feeling is when someone falls out with two siblings and then a parent over different things maybe there is a common denominator. 🤷‍♀️
