Hmm, I have 2 theories:

  1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
  2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.Wink

Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty BAN his mother from their wedding

Holly Ramsay and fiancé Adam Peaty are caught in a bitter family feud after the Olympian banned his mother from their wedding following her snub at the bride's hen party.

I keep saying it & someone put it much better upthread in that no one would mistake the 60 year old in a crean dress & poss navy jacket or draped navy pashmina for bride….

It was one of FOUR dresses she was told she HAD to have & possibly not for main event. We can’t know but maybe taken out of context being charitable.

Nobody would mistake her for the bride correct.

They would however think she was probably going to be one of those mils however. Wearing cream to your sons wedding sets a tone unless it’s been agreed on and it wasn’t in this case.

I think the interview made her look worse than she already did. Holly would be posting on here in a year max about her mil from hell, maybe she already has in the bride section 😅

It’s very lower class to publicly do so.

Think council estate arguments screaming and shouting inthe streets. That’s what his family is doing but because he and her are famous it’s in the press.

Very much what his and her friends won’t want to be around and nor will her family.

They have isolated themselves by being blabber mouths.

Harry’s blabber is exactly why the public won’t accept him back even if his dad did. You can’t trust him and we all feel that. A brother sister mother or father telling our secrets. It breaks trust. Smash a plate and even if you glue it back together you will see the cracks still. It’s never the same.

I'm coming late to this, so apologies if covering old ground, but I thought this all started when the Ramsays shared the hen party photos on social media.

I've never been to a hen party that included mothers, but if one mother is very obviously not there and one is, it does rather send a message.

Yes, it sends the message that one is the mother of the bride and the other is the mother of the groom and they both have different roles in each of their lives.

Sharing photos of your party on your social media is pretty normal.

Inviting your mil to your hen is not the done thing in my circles. Ones own mother may or may not be invited.

After all it’s the Hens party her guest list. By the sound of it she rightly so wasn’t invited and she likes to run to the press or get her family too.

Just as I might I didn’t but I could have wanted my mum in the room giving birth, doesn’t and wouldn’t mean my mil should automatically be invited to watch as well. Women don’t stop having their own friends and family because they get married.

Not her first time selling stories either. Some how she ended up in the paper due to flags being taken down that she didn’t put up outside or near her home.

It became public when Holly shared her hen party photos, but Adam’s mum had been causing issues long before the hen party.

She was not happy with the engagement party guest list and confronted Holly about why her entire extended family had not been invited.

She brought this up again with Gordon Ramsay at the engagement party (when everyone was trying to enjoy themselves and have a good time).

She was planning on wearing a white outfit to the wedding.

She didn’t show up when Adam had arranged to buy her something else for her to wear.

She wasn’t happy that the couple didn’t want her to hand make the placement cards for the wedding.

And who knows what else.

I can just imagine the incessant complains and comments about the wedding, the venue, the guest list, the cost, and on and on and on.

Vitriolinsanity · 16/11/2025 18:37

I’d rather have VB at my hen (the families have been super-close forever) than my MIL

Adam Peaty seems like a total melt though.

Lampzade · 16/11/2025 18:37

Everyone and their dog is aware that you don’t wear cream or white to a wedding .It is about courtesy and tradition
Having a moan about not being able to wear a cream outfit seems a bit disingenuous .
As regard the 4 outfit changes. This is a ‘celebrity’ wedding and will be attended by glamorous people . The couple may just want to do something nice for his mother so that she doesn’t feel uncomfortable , so they offered to pay for her outfits .
I think that the mother probably feels a bit intimidated by the Ramsays and is simply projecting her own insecurities .
She seems like a pain in the neck just like her son. The apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree

Vitriolinsanity · 16/11/2025 18:40

And if I was going to my son’s wedding where GR was FOTB my only concern was how elastic my waistband was for the epic food. I’ve eaten at GR Hospital Rd twice and it’s other worldly fabulous.

Plus David Beckham will be there!!

The 4 outfits will be spread over a couple of days. I doubt the wedding will be a one day event.

Mother in law from hell.

The cream one poss not for main event but can’t disagree that all reflects badly.

I don’t know if the Hen insta in public domain but if Holly/Adam I’d have kept all my socials tight & quiet so as not to fuel any fire.

LondonGirrrrl · 16/11/2025 18:54

It’s very sad for everyone. However Caroline should apologise, it was wrong to create a big stink about the engagement party and wrong to go through her DIL about it. The wedding and everything about it is wholly the happy couples choice. The aunt and brother wading in was utterly stupid, they should apologise also. I don’t imagine the happy couple are without fault but at least they have some decorum. I just hope they are willing to forgive.

But that plays into how bad it must be between them all if you had to live like that.

Can’t post that as Mil won’t be happy, can’t have a photo with whoever because mil will be sad.

You stop being able to live your life because your on eggs shells. You’ve got to invite someone you don’t want and likely egg shells still during the event or never be able to post something because egg shells.

That all sounds very irritating - but it's not unusual for weddings to cause rows.

The thing that seems different about this wedding is that it has all been done in public, and I think both the Ramsay and Peaty families have chosen to do that.

Why not?

If someone wants to post pictures of their party, of their new car or of their holiday why should they not be able to?

So Holly and her family and friends can never post a photo with Holly or Adam in case his mum gets offended?

Adam’s mum or his aunty could not look. Rather than clearly going looking so they could be offended.

True but putting everything in public domain doesn’t help. Keep it private. At odds with being an Influencer & a brand though.

BettysRoasties · 16/11/2025 19:04

That’s it isn’t it. Celebs and famous people and influencers are expected to post and share parts of their lives. It’s the price they pay for their fame and fortune.

Imagine the outrage if Holly and Adam blocked his family from viewing their stories and photos. Can’t win.

Plenty of people don't share those kinds of things on public instagram accounts.

You’re right of course & it’s today’s world, but over sharing causes problems.

There are those in high places, Billionaire families semi in public eye etc that have social media but it’s tightly locked. They wisely enjoy life anonymously & avoid much possible controversy accordingly.

I suspect part of the problem was that everyone else went looking, and asked why Adam's mum wasn't there with Victoria Beckham, and everyone knows that in the world of the Ramsays and the Beckhams, these things do matter. Thousands of strangers read the runes, trying to work out who has been snubbed by who.

Uricon2 · 16/11/2025 19:20

At the time I went to lots of hen parties (dinner, drinks, dancing, all quite simple) many years ago, no one would have invited their mother, let alone MIL. Possibly sisters.

I think this is about £££ and she's made an utter fool of herself with a possibly irretrievable situation because of this reaction.

Being reported today that the reason why Adam was escorted from the airport by police was because Holly tipped them off that threats had been made. Make of that what you want.

Being reported by who?
A credible source? where?
More likely another wild allegation from the family.
