Hmm, I have 2 theories:

  1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
  2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.Wink

Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty BAN his mother from their wedding

Holly Ramsay and fiancé Adam Peaty are caught in a bitter family feud after the Olympian banned his mother from their wedding following her snub at the bride's hen party.

Oh well she's in the Daily Mail telling her side of the story. Not the actions of a mother who wants to heal the rift.

Exactly. She should be speaking to her son in private in order to resolve it. I don’t really buy the “we’re not good enough” line. Adam sister has taken his side which points to this not being true. Clearly things have gone on previously in the Peaty family and he is well within his right to not be accepting of this.

How is Adam so apparently wealthy? 23k for ring etc…x4 outfits for Mum…

Must admit I wondered that! Endorsements and sponsorship maybe? Payment for being on Strictly?

Adam, who'd generously offered to pay for all the mother-of-the groom trappings - her dress, shoes, nails, hair - said she'd need four dresses for the whole event, yet ruled out her favoured cream outfit, which Caroline wanted to pair with navy accessories.

'He told me "Only a bride wears white," to which I replied, "It's not white, it's cream."

She has returned the dress, but kept another gold two-piece along with a matching fascinator and shoes that cost her £452. 'Do you know how I raised that money?' she asks. l sold some things on Vinted.'

Since then the relationship has gone from bad to worse.

So she was planning on wearing white to the wedding.

She also text Holly to confront her about the guest list for the engagement party.

He's a motivational speaker, runs his own swimming and fitness company, has a deal with Speedo.

She apparently needed 4 for the day so perhaps not as sounds?

Sounds good but does that high net worth have longevity?

Motivational speakers can earn a lot. A lot of ex sports stars do it. He'll also probably do after dinner speeches, special events (meet the Olympians sort of thing).

Fitness will never die either so he's onto something.

Good for him if so & also Holly earns.

Plus Ramsays will look after them too.

After reading the article that states “The family feel like they’ve had little economic support from Adam, I can only imagine what the mother has had to say about the 23k ring.

She also says she confronted Holly about the engagement party guest list as not all of her extended family were invited. She brought it up with Gordon at the actual party too.

She seems overbearing and interfering.

I’ve never cared about white or cream at weddings, Princess of Wales has worn cream to weddings, but I know it’s something many MNers its a no no.

Roverbarks · 14/11/2025 22:49

That DM article, bloody hell.

So even by her version of events which is designed to make her look like the victim, she admits to sending angry messages to Holly about the engagement party rather than discussing it with her own son, and wanting to wear cream to the wedding. And her other son was even arrested for threatening him.

Wonder what else has happened that she’s not shared?!

Why would she think speaking to the DM was a good idea?

The whole “my son is in the clutches of Gordon Ramsay” is a bit much.

Blaming everyone and everything except for herself.

That pushy, controlling & micromanaging nature is likely what helped Adam’s success. Getting up before 4am & being a taxi service at end of day too, with a full time job in between, well, it’s dedicated.

Depends on how much navy was alongside, plus it’s one of FOUR!

She makes herself sound possessive and unable to cope with her son getting married. It’s interesting that the enabling of the brother came up as I thought that might be an issue.

By her own words she appears quite unreasonable - I didn’t care if anyone wore cream/white to my wedding, but I understand other people care so I avoid it as a guest. Equally, it’s not really ok to text someone hosting a party asking for more of the family to be invited. My aunts didn’t come to my engagement party.

She then says: There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive.

Erm has she really not considered that leaking the whole story to the press this way is unforgivable? She doesn’t seem to have much self-insight.

True, although if he acquires/has acquired a taste for the high life & they bankroll, buy the house etc, they’ll very prob be strings attached. NB: Peltz-Beckham. It’s unwise to bite the hand that feeds.

Yes. If my family went to the press and talked about me like that I'd never speak to them again either. Perhaps they could have salvaged the relationship if not for the Instagram posts and now national press!

And nobody wears cream to a wedding. They were probably trying to stop gossip about her by buying her something appropriate.

Not sure she's done herself any favours with the article, it makes her look worse if anything.

Yes, agree, but she hasn’t got her point across very well I felt. If, that is, there are legitimate concerns. It didn’t feel as if Journo was Team Caroline. At all…

Also if you asked me to find FOUR wedding outfits one of them might be cream & navy as not sure wardrobe could run to myriad colours. She’s not going to upstage Holly.

Itworkedout · 14/11/2025 23:17

This seems to have got blown out of proportion massively. I wondered if he had forgotten his background and got carried away dating a millionaires daughter. But it seems his family are willing to throw him under a bus and are sad he isn’t paying them. No one should expect that from their child.

His mother does not come across well at all
She comes across as bitter , controlling and insecure
I have issues with family members who sell / give their stories to the press .
She made a mistake imho .

Or pashmina draping down or even a navy jacket, but look, I agree, cream isn’t great!

If not the one of 4 for main event…better optics. Honestly, although a faux pas, I wouldn’t care very much. All eyes on Holly.
