Hmm, I have 2 theories:

1. She didn't think his mum fit in her shallow aesthetic, based on the photos I've seen of the guests and the do as a whole.
2. His mum doesn't necessarily approve of the partnership- looking at the timeline described in the article, from when they met to when they apparently got together, I wouldn't be surprised if his mum had sided more with the mother of his child.

Before anyone says, if you don't know who they are, read the article. Yes there are more important things to worry about in the world, I can think about more than one thing at a time.
This is purely my opinion, so hopefully I can't be sued.

@BettysRoasties I hope it'll be like the is it white & gold or is it black & blue dress that set the internet alight a few years ago. Maybe Mrs P thinks her dress is one colour but A&H think it's another and that's what's causing all the agro because both sides are convinced they are right 😂.

Holly has always seemed lovely to me. There’s some pretty bitchy comments about her on here. Living off the family name - how exactly? It’s her name too.

To me, posting gripes via one’s sister on Instagram doesn’t scream ‘warm loving relative’.

Sure, that didn’t mean she didn’t make a different choice here, especially there was already bad feeling towards the marriage. It’s hardly unheard of for a guest to convey their disapproval of an event through their choice of outfit.

The only reason we know about this supposed issue is because Adam Peaty’s family decided to publicize it (or their version of it) . As much as the Ramsay PR has a vested interest in making the couple look better, Adam Peaty’s mother and her ‘sources’ have a vested interest in doing the same for themselves. It’s unwise to take either at face value.

I’m still puzzled about why Holly, who seems so lovely, agree, & is gorgeous, young with so much going for her, would want to marry Adam? He seems complex, troubled with baggage. She has the choice of anyone with world at feet.

I only half read the article but what I couldn’t get out of my head is the fact that Adam Peaty professes to being a Christian and often references verses from the bible in his posts on social media.
I know there are two sides to every story, but his actions towards his mother and his family don’t seem very Christian to me.

Some times those who are the most Christian are actually the least.

A bit do as I say and not as I do.

Or perhaps they thought her taste was too plain/low brow and she might feel frumpy (hate that word) stood next to Tana or VB. Maybe their hearts were in the right place and their intentions were good but it all just got misunderstood and snowballed.

When most women get to Mrs Peary's age they've found their look they feel comfortable in. Of course it's possible she may suddenly go left of field at turn up as full bride of Frankenstein but it seems unlikely to me.

Agree, although they do always look very happy. He does seem complex and troubled though, you are right. Tana and Gord seem to like him though.

She doesn't do anything though except post pictures and call it a job. Being an influencer is hardly cerebral. I know many guys who wouldn't be interested, daddy money or not.

Even so, she’s still young so time for evolution & has lots of opportunity & example. It feels an odd choice to me.

She lives off the family name because she doesn’t have a career. I mean not that I know of anyway. I know her younger sister also went on Strictly like Adam and was on CBBC for a while. Isn’t she also training to be a chef like her Dad? Their brother is literally a marine.

She doesn’t seem to do anything except date an Olympian and post shit on social media.

Google says she’s a model and influencer as well as a pod cast co host for mental health and has worked as a documentary producer.

I mean influencers can earn a fortune so it’s a job really.

So what though? She comes from a celebrity family, why wouldn’t she accept the opportunities open to her as a result? Why wouldn’t she live as she wants to when she’s in the position to? It’s not like she needs to prove herself to anyone. She’s not actually done anything wrong.

Loads of people are influencers now, you don’t have to be a ‘Ramsay’ to be one. Her sister is a chef yes but you could argue has also traded on the family name before becoming one, having had a CBBC show as a child, yet somehow that’s OK? Holly also seems to be a model and have a mental health podcast. Good for her. She’s pretty young. Maybe she hasn’t figured out a defined career path yet. Why is this thread about Holly’s life choices anyway?!

The billionaire and music icon Bruce Springsteen's son is a firefighter in New York. I also applaud the Ramsay son who is a Marine.

Too much celebrity and money doesn't make for much achievement of your own at times, it is undeniable.

All the older Ramsey girls have degrees, not sure about Jack but he's a marine (obviously the younger ones don't).

It seems their parents have instilled the need for a good education and a strong work ethic. Gordon himself is a well respected chef, I know people who did their training with him and they can't sing his praises highly enough.

Megan seems to keep herself out of the celeb spotlight, so does Jack. You don't see much of Tilly either.

Holly seems to be fair game for some reason. I'm sure her and Adam would rather like to live a peaceful life.

The press interest in this, and Adam Peaty's family in particular, is off the scale. Someone is feeding them.

Good for them but lots of young people are still finding their feet at her age. I feel sorry for Holly personally, Adam is the celebrity swimmer, yet random criticism is aimed at her.

Oh well she's in the Daily Mail telling her side of the story. Not the actions of a mother who wants to heal the rift.

Oh dear. I’ve just seen that his mum appears to have done a sit down exclusive interview with the Daily Mail. I’m not paying to read it. But combined with the news that Adam’s brother was attested for making threats towards him, it’s not a good look for the Peatys.

Oh dear it's like Harry and Meghan all over again.

Unfortunately mum's been manipulated by the press.

It's gonna all end in tears

Or one that’s not very educated or perhaps too bright being manipulated by the Press.
