Particularly with the BBC, my mother was upset when I said I was cancelling my license, but she genuinely thought it was against the law! They've peddled so much misinformation about it. There have been threads where people are adamant that you can't possibly meet all the conditions for not using a license
But actually, if you don't watch sport and you don't watch news, it's very easy.
actually, at one stage there were quite a few websites where you could apparently watch football with a few minutes delay - obviously football is massively split in terms of what's televised and where, and I think a lot of the clubs have their own channels so maybe that's not a thing anymore
I heard that from a group of lads in my old building. I don't watch football - just making an observation. I think the BBC have relied on their reputation for news for a very long time.
All BBC dramas tend to get sold on to other channels anyway. I do actually think they could survive on a subscription model.
@SpaceRaccoon from your comments I'm guessing you too have the experience of living within walking distance of these hotels. I find it quite strange that anger hasn't erupted about this much earlier.
