A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Are there any decent Labour backbenchers that could take over some of the cabinet positions?

No, they are predominantly students whose main role is to pander to their constituents, and block any cuts to the welfare budget.

Actually feel sorry for Starmer given the calibre of clowns he has to work with

I’m not there yet….

He knew the general standard of Labour's MPs when he took the job on. Nothing has changed in the quality, only the number! I have zero sympathy.

Tbf not really as I loathe him most.

This is not just any economic calamity, this is a Rachel Reeves-made one….

The boss of Marks & Spencer has said Rachel Reeves has made his customers “more worried” about rising costs with her pre-budget speech as retailers prepare for the key Christmas trading period.

Stuart Machin said his shoppers were “worried about rising costs and they did get more worried” after the chancellor failed to rule out breaking manifesto pledges not to raise key taxes in her speech on Tuesday.

The M&S chief executive suggested Reeves’s lack of detail in spelling out her plans had left shoppers and businesses unsure about what new costs they could face in the months ahead.

“Shoppers are planning for a good Christmas, but planning for the worst with the budget and hoping for the best,” he said.

You see the real character when someone is under pressure - Lammy showed his true colours didn’t he.

As did Reeves with her self-pitying crying.

Yes exactly. It seemed really odd at the time but makes sense now we know what was happening.
There was an incident with Lammy, his wife and a French taxi driver earlier in the year. The taxi driver has recently had lots to say about his exchange with Lammy! One of the accusations was that Lammy shouted "fucking French" at the driver. Obviously all denied by Lammy of course.

Then the black hole won't be as big?

There's hoping.

I’ve just been reading about that. I thought the whole thing was over. Maybe not.

Fuck knows why we bow to the ICJ, aka the clown court. I hope this Chagos sell-out just stalls and fades away.

That’s one of the things that most pisses me off about Labour (and, sadly, some Tories): they’re too in thrall to stupid UN and other international wanky committees and courts. The belief that we benefit from rules, or should abide by rules, laid down by activist-led international organisations is absurd.

This is not a mutually respected law of the sea, or of aviation or of jurisdiction or of trade. It’s just opportunism assisted by left-wing fools.

He's got his finger on the pulse hasn't he? Shame the govt doesn't and I see what they did with the headline😁

Absolutely.

Starmer cares more about adherence to international law than he does to the rights of UK citizens.

They have to make a decision on the Chinese embassy soon - that should prove interesting, how they attempt to wrestle that pig.

I think it's already a supermassive black hole, sadly, with or without.

Agree.
I would go further and say that many of the new intake MPs were selected specifically because they lack experience and are unlikely to break rank.

Is it so big it could swallow Starmer’s and Reeves’s egos?

I’m not sure that’s compatible with the laws of physics.

Somewhere in that black hole - past the event horizon, is rumoured to be Starmer’s rizz…

The plot for Interstellar 2, perhaps?

Oh my, they are georgeous.
I'm a seamstress myself, I have the doings for a copycat corduroy Boden dress (£150) that will cost me £15.

Love corduroy in the winter.

EmeraldRoulette · 05/11/2025 17:45

@NoWordForFluffy if you're doing sneaky song references, I for one appreciate it 😂

I hopped on the thread last night, but you were all talking about food.

i'm at the point where I don't really know what's going on apart from the escaped prisoner.

I met that accountant that I meet at the weekly networking thing. She told me a lot of people are taking as much out of their pensions as they're allowed to.

She comes up with a new nugget every time I see her! I can definitely see that putting money into the pension is a more sensible option for most people but I've never been a fan of pensions so I've opted for the minimum.

NoWordForFluffy · 05/11/2025 17:59

@EmeraldRoulette, I wondered who'd spot it first! 🎶

CaveMum · 05/11/2025 18:33

Amending my previous post, the missing prisoner - Brahim Kaddour-Cheriff - is not an asylum seeker. He was here on a valid visitor VISA but was flagged as a “probable over-stayer” in 2020.

So long as yourself and @Rexinasaurus continue to post on the other thread, I will continue here.

I will happily not post anymore after that happens. So suggest that you keep your own house in order.

Wow have you heard yourself? If anyone wanted proof that Labour supporters created no-go zones on MNHQ. Here it is.

Legolava · 05/11/2025 18:41

I see in the education sector - the government have made some stellar announcements. They are worse than the last govt by far.

RoyalImpatience · 05/11/2025 18:59

And why aren't business leaders like rose advising the gov

He's already lead one scsthing attack on her
