Yes, I'm bored.
Waiting in the car for DCs to come out of school so decided to clear out my bag and found my coin purse.
I have exactly £12.75 in cash to my name.

About 27p

Statsquestion1 · 04/11/2025 15:38

69,425.07 between 4 of my own accounts excluding the joint account which has 5918.

If you have this in literal cash you’re an idiot 🫣

Ponderingwindow · 04/11/2025 15:53

About 1k in a home safe. I keep 20 in my bag. A cup full of change that I would guess is worth about 30, but I’m not going to count it.

QueefofSheena · 04/11/2025 15:54

About £100 between notes and pound coins. I have around 300 euros that survived the last trip so I’m saving them for the next one

Well it’s cash in accounts but not physical no…imagine it all in my mattress 😂

PegDope · 04/11/2025 15:54

I’ve got about €7 in my purse and €150 emergency cash stashed in my hearing aid cleaning kit 😁

Runnersandtoms · 04/11/2025 15:54

None, I paid in some cash to the bank today including all my loose change. I never use it so would rather it was in the bank. I literally always use card payment (or more often phone). On the odd ocassion somewhat doesn't take cards I'd have to take some cash out but I find it vanishingly rare now. Even market stalls etc take card payments.

Runnersandtoms · 04/11/2025 15:56

I had a handful of leftover euros but spent them in France. The last time I needed cash was on the motorway toll in Sicily, it was 90 cents.

WinterBerry40 · 04/11/2025 15:56

Cash in my purse around £40 but that is unusual . My hair appointment was about 3 weeks ago , she prefers cash and I thought I was having it coloured but I'd only booked a cut & blow dry .
The £40 is what I have left as I've been using it for coffees and the occasional visit to the corner shop for a few bits .

DinoLil · 04/11/2025 15:56

About 32p. I also have £35 given as an early Christmas gift from DM but I'm not counting that. Or should I in the spirit of the thread?

Okay, £35.32.

shivermetimbers77 · 04/11/2025 15:57

I suspect there’s about 75p between the sofa cushions and possibly another 20p lurking at the bottom of my bag

Rexinasaurus · 04/11/2025 15:58

Zero cash. I had a ten pound note the other day as I needed to use a cash machine to activate a new bank card. I tried to get £5 but was minimum £10. I hate carrying cash. I gave it to a student waitress. I’d have loved that when I was a waitress.

MagicalMystical · 04/11/2025 15:58

I’ve got about 50 quid from a refund I got in the pharmacy (long story) and proceeded to forget about because I put it in a really weird place. Just found it the other day when tidying and thought ‘what the fuck am I going to do with this?’

It honestly feels like a PITA these days to have that much in actual cash.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/11/2025 16:00

£1, for the supermarket trolley.
I did have a £20 note until the other day, but used it to pay the window cleaner.

Redrosesposies · 04/11/2025 16:00

£20 in my phone case - only because I booked a Christmas treat for Mum and Auntie and they only have cash; about a tenner in coins in the car and $170 left over from 2019 when we were in Florida with Thomas Cook and they went bust. Should have spent it at the airport but didn't get round to it and we thought we'd be back again the following year😂😂

Eeyorefan · 04/11/2025 16:01

About £70 - can’t be bothered to count the loose change but £50 in notes for paying the window cleaner for the next few months

MD2020and10LambertandButlerPlease · 04/11/2025 16:03

More than usual, probably about £100.

I save coins and fivers up because I know I need cash for all of the school crap in December where they continually mug you to buy things stuck onto other things or raffles for stuff you donated anyway, come January it will be zero again.

ClaredeBear · 04/11/2025 16:03

I think around £100.

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 04/11/2025 16:10

Well, I’m better-off than I was this morning, because I found 22p on the pavement when I was bringing the bin in. So, that’s a grand total of £13.72 at my immediate disposal, plus £20 in a kitchen cupboard for the gardener.

notacooldad · 04/11/2025 16:13

Just over £600.
£500 was birthday money for me and and dh left £100 for me to pick up somethings later on
We have a spare change tub but have no clue how much is in there.

TheRolyPolyBard · 04/11/2025 16:13

Quite a lot, for backup. In recent years we've needed it because:

  • the bank stopped all DH's accounts for two days due to an unusual payment 🙄
  • the cash point ate my card
  • we had a 3 day power cut and only the wee local shop could open, doing cash only. No cash, no food.
  • galas, fairs, buying on FB marketplace etc. only take cash. The cashpoints often run out (tourists use it all in unpredictable waves) so we keep cash in the house for the random times we need it.
ApathyCentral · 04/11/2025 16:14

Around £360 in small bills. Plus shrapnel in my purse. I keep it on hand in case of emergencies and power cuts.

Screwyoucolin · 04/11/2025 16:14

£3 I found in my winter coat that I must have left in there last year. I have a few pennies in the car too - rarely ever have physical cash these days.

I'd be lucky to find £1 for the trolley hun

DrMadelineMaxwell · 04/11/2025 16:16

In ready cash - a tub with a few handfuls of £1 and £2 coins.

And about £50 in notes.

And another 100 euro, but I that's not much use.
