Yep Monday comes all too soon! Sorry about the nightmares, it sounds like a few on here suffer. I have very vivid dreams anyway but if I'm having a surge of adrenaline they turn scary.

I had a calm day yesterday after my busy day on Saturday, but unsurprisingly it's caught up with me today so I'm back to diligently pacing to get my heartrate back down.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Thanks @TeaAndStrumpets feeling pretty tired this morning but got plenty to do so need to pace myself also. Hope you can get a rest day.

FuzzyPuffling · 17/11/2025 10:49

I've had a proper conversation with the pharmacist at my GP surgery. He was very helpful. Such a relief!
DD popping round at lunchtime to see if I can alter her first clerical cassock to fit. Now that's an interesting sentence!

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 10:55

@BerfyTigot I hope you manage to have a relaxing day and feel better for your hydrotherapy. I envy you doing craft projects, I combine enthusiasm with incompetence so it's often dishheartening! I was more productive when I could use my sewing machine for basic stuff but I get such a stiff neck from bending forward I've stopped. I can manage a bit of darning in short bursts. I quite enjoy mending/patching things. When I was a student a million years ago I used to patch my jeans with remnants of curtain material, so I often had a floral crotch!

Intriguing!

My mum had a good female friend who was one of the first groups of ordained women. I found it fascinating that she cut up fairy liquid bottles for collars!

I have not showered, dh got me up and then told me the boiler was being serviced and he was going to the dentist. He then messaged from the dentist to say the boiler service was next week! But I’m down on the sofa now and no going back up.

TodayIsatrickyone · 17/11/2025 12:13

Had a GP appointment this morning, I can’t actually remember the last time I saw a GP re ME but felt given I’ve been in a flare since my trip away in July it might be an idea to check there’s nothing else going on. I have a heart condition too so need to rule out things aren’t getting worse on that front. It felt quite productive and having follow up bloods and ECG so was worth the huge effort of getting up, dressed and out by 9 am!
Whilst we were out we called and had a quick coffee with my DH’s cousin who has been visiting our area this weekend before they head home. That was nice as I felt a bit guilty that I’d left the socialising to DH who has seen them over the weekend. Hoping I won’t pay too badly tomorrow.
Resting now and waiting for food shopping to arrive. Then more rest!
Hope everyone’s Mondays are manageable.

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 13:10

That sounds like a successful morning all round @TodayIsatrickyone .

It was nice you could enjoy a coffee and a quick catch up, a little bit of socialising but hopefully not too much!

TodayIsatrickyone · 17/11/2025 13:56

Thanks @TeaAndStrumpets it was a very quick but lovely hello so hopefully I’ll get away with it! ( probably not but I’m ever the optimist!)

Hope your heart rate settles again and you can manage your house viewing this week 🤞

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 14:11

@TodayIsatrickyone yes working on the heart rate! I can't believe such relatively short bursts of activity drain my battery. Oxygen keeps dipping too.

Yes fingers crossed for a good viewing, thank you!

chunkyBoo · 17/11/2025 14:36

I’m waiting for the outcome from a meeting on Friday from my pension company as to whether or not they approve my ill health pension application - I’m 53 - please send positive vibes!!

FurForksSake · 17/11/2025 14:36

Good afternoon! I’ve just ordered some throws / blankets from John Lewis. We had vouchers last Christmas and haven’t spent them so I panicked. We were going to go to home sense, but these ended up being free! Being a sofa bound babe like many of you, blankets are my jam 🤣🤣

WWLD · 17/11/2025 14:41

New to the thread - how did I not find 'my people' before now?

I've just got home from work (I work 4 hours a day), and was heading to bed, but then realised I forgot to call in at the pharmacy for my prescription on my way home. Can anyone spare some spoons for the extra trip?

TodayIsatrickyone · 17/11/2025 14:41

Fingers crossed for you @chunkyBoo

Cant beat a new cosy blanket @FurForksSake
Anything to make life on the sofa more enjoyable 😊

Welcome! Sending a spoon over for you!

FurForksSake · 17/11/2025 14:44

Damn; that’s annoying! Hope the pharmacy isn’t too taxing. I’ve switched to online pharmacies and it all just gets posted through the door. I have to remember a little bit earlier to order to allow for 48 hours delivery, but it works welll!

I used to have everything delivered by the local pharmacy when I worked 3 full days, but now I'm 4 hours a day, they can't guarantee delivery outside of my working hours.

I might have to try and online pharmacy (I do everything else online!), but the local guys know me really well and have stopped a couple of potential medication clashes the GP missed.

FuzzyPuffling · 17/11/2025 15:25

DH does online pharmacy, and it's great for the drugs he has on repeat. But...when he needed something outside of that it took 5 dots to arrive. No good if its something you need straight away.
( He started this when we lived 6 miles from the nearest pharmacy - we have now moved).

I, however, walk the 7 mins to the local pharmacy, when they have sent me a text to say my prescription is ready. It seems to work well.

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 16:22

@chunkyBoo @WWLD Welcome, weary travellers! Nice to see you here.

I had a long lie down with my monks*, very relaxing.

Now trying to buy some Christmas and birthday presents. December birthdays are quite taxing I find, I just run out of ideas. Bought a few Waterstone vouchers online so that's a help.

Anyone else freezing cold? I think it's time to unfurl the heated throw! I tried a rechargable hot water bottle last winter and it was pretty good before it broke. May get another one to keep my toes warm in bed.

We have started watching a preposterous French police comedy drama on E4, it is entertaining but to be fair I am easily amused! Final episode of Station Eleven for us tonight, I have really loved it.

How sad my life is that I've been lying here looking forward to a nice evening in with the TV!! We only watch about an hour a day, and there's too much sensory overload if we watch after 9pm, especially high adrenaline scary stuff!

*Gregorian chants on Youtube as discussed many pages ago! Not actual monks.

FuzzyPuffling · 17/11/2025 16:36

Heated throws have been out a couple of weeks here. They are genius things.

Swanhilde · 17/11/2025 16:48

Back from work and in bed with a cuppa. I have also been freezing all day. Heating at work went off at 10am! 🥶

Luckily I put a heat patch on my lower back this morning when I got dressed, which I will shortly be replacing with my microwaved heat pad.

Have a warm and restful evening all 🔥

Stressybetty · 17/11/2025 16:50

I use my heated throw all year round! Got two I rotate and a new king-size one waiting for colder weather. Electric blanket on the bed too

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 16:51

@Swanhilde 10am...that is crazy! Hope you warm up soon.

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 16:53

@FuzzyPuffling @Stressybetty yes I think I'll go and find mine!

WWLD · 17/11/2025 17:34

I live with hot water bottles for my (perpetually freezing) lower legs and feet, and have found silent night's 'self heating' blanket brilliant to use with them - it really keeps the heat in.
I recently bought a usb powered heat pad for my back, which helps when sat, but the charge pack is too heavy for my trouser pocket, so the trousers fall down when I'm walking around. Not a good look for out and about! 🤣

TeaAndStrumpets · 17/11/2025 17:50

@WWLD I just looked at the self- heating blanket. Sheer genius!

I wear home made leg-warmers in the privacy of my own home. Recycled from the sleeves of an old cashmere cardigan. I don't care what I look like when I'm cold.
