sorry I haven’t jumped to the same racist conclusions as the rest of you though

I was thinking mental health but read there were two attackers.

But why would it be racist to assume terror attack?

Same. I thought mentally ill person but now I read it was two men so most likely terrorism.

jasflowers · 02/11/2025 06:43

Nolletimiere · 02/11/2025 06:38

Quite so.

They have a clear agenda - deflection, obstruction, obfuscation, gaslighting etc.
It’s all rather transparent.

The same old names, too.

No one is stopping you from saying whatever you like but in the UK, others can challenge your ideas and you can challenge back... thats how it works.

How a mass stabbing incident be turned round by you into an anti Labour rant is beyond me, unless you've a v different agenda?

HLPisme · 02/11/2025 06:44

SoEasyToFall · 01/11/2025 23:10

Yes, when they said it was the Newcastle to London train it was what I thought.

later on on a Saturday, pissed up, coked up football fans will do a lot. I’ve witnessed fights on trains before because football fans thought that someone was looking at them funny.

Ridiculous statement. How many football fans do you hear of engaging in mass stabbings? More racism against mainly white people as a ‘safe’ target. We all know who generally engages in mass slaughter or attempts at it, and it’s Islamic extremists. Or those radicalised by the ideology. Almost every time. This social blindness so you don’t feel racist, while being racist, is why these attacks keep happening.

PeachOctopus · 02/11/2025 06:45

Whether this is classed as a terrorist incident or a random person with mental health problems is becoming a meaningless label anyway.

Axel Rudakubana was not classed as a terrorist although he made ricin poison in his bedroom and followed an Al Queda manuel while George Galloway was arrested at Gatwick Airport by counter terrorism police (as you then have no right to remain silent and have to give up your phone -see also Graeme Linehan who was arrested at airport -no right to remain silent and must give up your devices).

HamptonCourtPrincess · 02/11/2025 06:45

It’s terrible. I use the LNER service regularly and this has scared me. It makes you think about how trapped you are on a train. Hoping all victims recover well. Awful 😢.

You've been drinking the Reform propaganda kool aid - the early election thing is a regular theme and it's utter bollocks. Just because the last Tory government shit show went to the polls every five minutes, doesn't mean Labour will. And people don't actually hate Starmer, in the real world. Twitter bots might make you think he's the devil incarnate, but most of my friends and family think he's a decent, intelligent man.

This could just add easily happened under the Tory government. No laws have changed so much in a year that would have reduced security.

Why the obsession with Reform? Please tell?

My focus is on Starmer and this abomination of a government. Here’s a reminder as to the polls - I prefer to accept their veracity versus your comments…

Reform 27%
Cons 17%
Labour 17%

Starmer's personal ratings are worst of any PM from the past four decades after 300 days.

Oh dear.

The report on Sky said it was from Newcastle to London.

Newcastle fans are known to be a bjt shitty, in sorry to say. Like I said. It was just my first thought. I’m not going to bend myself backwards into some sort of racism rage when we don’t know anything about the identity of the suspects.

You ignorant twit. Geordies aren't known for going round stabbing folk on trains!

If anything the level of violence from recent immigrants is being underreported by the media. Last week, in the wake of all the stories in the news, I was talking with a friend who is herself a Sri Lankan immigrant and who works as a nurse in a big city. She was, obviously, pro-immigration and fairly progressive on these issues but the last couple of years have changed her thinking. The main problems she mentioned were: Somali/Ethiopian/Eritrean gang violence which is off-the-scale, unbelievable in its brutality and ruthlessness, spills over into hospitals but which doesn't even make the local news; domestic violence within Muslim families where the victims won't talk to the police because they will be ostracized by their 'community'; dealing every day with an increasing amount of men who are actually angry and seething with contempt at being treated by a female; the hospital employing a number of people in roles like cleaners and HCAs which those people are only doing to help their immigration status while they are fairly openly making their actual money from organised crime, mainly drug-dealing and money-laundering. She's an immigrant who now is thinking of migrating from the UK because of immigration, and none of the problems she has to deal with on a daily basis makes a newspaper or a television station.

I’ve never heard of Newcastle fans being “a bit shitty”

I’ve heard of terrorists being “a bit shitty” though

Newcastle are away to West Ham tomorrow. My first thought was that it could possibly be football related.

THAT was your first thought?

TirzelyBeloved · 02/11/2025 06:51

It’s not football hooligans. They got on at Doncaster.

All of us are sat around waiting for news on our colleagues.

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 02/11/2025 06:52

“We just have to hope it was a white British man that did this”

What on earth does this mean? That’s fucking insane!

Nolletimiere · 02/11/2025 06:52

For those posters seeking to blame Newcastle supporters, what a shameful thing to do.

Reprehensible behaviour.

luckylavender · 02/11/2025 06:52

AInightingale · 01/11/2025 23:38

Starmer says news is 'deeply concerning'. 'Deeply concerning', an attempted mass murder. I do wonder what the actual fuck is wrong with that man.

Oh do grow up. What do you expect him to say?

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 02/11/2025 06:54

luckylavender · 02/11/2025 06:52

Oh do grow up. What do you expect him to say?

That’s it’s catastrophic and they’re going to come up with ways to actually stop this from happening?

Nolletimiere · 02/11/2025 06:54

luckylavender · 02/11/2025 06:52

Oh do grow up. What do you expect him to say?

I would rather focus on his words (and actions) in the coming days when the reality is reported.

Let’s hope he does not attempt to take people for fools (I am not optimistic, given his form).

LavenderBlue19 · 02/11/2025 06:57

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 02/11/2025 06:41

Yes yes of course…
Thats why official figures are bursting with Starmer’s popularity.
I don’t know about you claiming someone else has been drinking the kool aid when you clearly have.

No kool aid here. I usually vote Lib Dem because they stand the biggest chance of beating the Tories where I live.

But I do see the constant right-wing propaganda and how the drip drip of the same phrases and ideas are influencing people. There is a huge amount of money going into right-wing social media at the moment, designed to cause division and hate. That's where all the flag shit came from, and it's why the UK suddenly feels racist when we all got along quite well until a few years so.

I don't know why people can't see it.

Bipitybopitybo · 02/11/2025 06:58

Nestingbirds · 02/11/2025 05:08

A few posts in, and one of the posts said they hoped it wasn’t a terrorist incident as it will fuel more hatred. I am astonished by the mind bending of that post.

What is fuelling anger is the total lack of security and control in this country. If this is another example, then surely the answer is for the government to find their back bone and start to take serious and meaningful action.

Followed swiftly by the person saying they hoped it was a white man and the absolute craziness of the poster who said police should just announce it was a white man anyway?

DurhamDurham · 02/11/2025 06:58

@SoEasyToFall
Bending over backwards to blame Newcastle football fans is disgusting.
Newcastle fans are not known for being a bit shitty, just the opposite. You’re just so desperate for it to be anything other than it is that you’re prepared to lay blame on anyone.

Willyoujustbequiet · 02/11/2025 06:59

luckylavender · 02/11/2025 06:25

But the Newcastle match is today

The train was from Doncaster. Nowhere near Newcastle.

Why would there be Newcastle fans on a train that's not coming or going to Newcastle. Its got nothing at all to do with a football match.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 02/11/2025 06:59

Swiftasthewind · 01/11/2025 23:56

Maintaining culture cohesion is just too important. We’ve seen what happened with regards to other cases. Nobody likes being lied to I understand that, but do you want potential protests and riots? Do you want a Reform government?

If the police is found out to be lying about this, the public will doubt any future statements.
People will always doubt it. And certain political movements will exploit it.

“yes, the police said it was a white, British man. But do you remember the stabbing incident? They claimed that as well. And we all know who the real perpetrator actually was…“
The police therefore really shouldn’t be encouraged to enter a post-truth/fake news era.

lying about the attackers‘ identities is also incredibly disrespectful to the victims and their families!

Just catching up on whole thread.

i read on news that they are now saying it’s not terrorism?

Which news, Facebook, TikTok, X, They haven't said yet, it was on the BBC a bit earlier.

NetZeroZealot · 02/11/2025 07:00

poids · 02/11/2025 06:39

a decent intelligent man?
Literally no one is buying that line anymore…they’ve run out of road and he will be remembered as possibly the worst PM in history.
But nice try.

I don’t think anyone could beat Liz Truss for worst PM ever.
