The police do seem to have mobilised very quickly, presumably they are in high alert.

Their HQ is also apparently quite close to Huntingdon station so that probably helped!

OonaStubbs · 02/11/2025 01:00

Something definitely needs to be done or Reform are definitely going to win the next election. Why can't Labour see that? Why do they continually try and minimise what is happening? Why don't they actually do something about it?

Starmer is weak and has no backbone.

Do you have a (credible) source for this claim?

@LaserPumpkin that's lucky then.

Newcastle are away to West Ham tomorrow. My first thought was that it could possibly be football related.

I've only just seen news of this incident and started reading post but wow, your first thought was football related. Incredible.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 02/11/2025 01:40

Maaate · 02/11/2025 00:11

No, they're not - they've spent the last couple of days trolling threads about girls who were raped.

I understand the poster also said that asylum seekers should be told to not rape otherwise the poor men will have been subject to entrapment.I fucking kid you not.

FrothyCothy · 02/11/2025 01:45

KimuraTan · 02/11/2025 01:26

Laughable if it wasn’t so terrifying. That’s your first thought? Someone got on in Peterborough which has a large Muslim population and you think it’s football related. Give your head a good shake love. Police not releasing names of who’ve they arrested. If it were two white football hooligans they’d say so. Counter terrorism officers involved. Need I say more…

Police don’t usually name before charging.

Checkcheckout · 02/11/2025 01:47

Just awful, how terrifying for those passengers. Both of my DDs were on (different) trains at the same time yesterday evening, something like this isn’t something you’d ever think in a million years would happen.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 02/11/2025 01:49

JHound · 02/11/2025 00:14

I often wonder why we don’t just build more and make them double up in the mean while.

A man released early from jail last year by Labour to ease over crowding, has been charged with murder happening the day he was released.
Liam Matthews aged 36.
So so needs more prisons built.

Libellousness · 02/11/2025 01:52

JHound · 02/11/2025 00:29

“Immigrant background” = Briton”. Bringing in anybody of any potential immigrant background becomes meaningless as that is millions of Britons.

But how many mass stabbings like this have there even been in the UK and how many by immigrants?

It doesn’t become meaningless, unless you believe that the 7/7 bombers or the Manchester bomber were as British as you or I, in which case, frankly, you’re a blithering idiot.

LifeSucksBigFatBalls · 02/11/2025 01:57

Why have some people presumed 'Football violence'
How many football fans get on the train and stab 10 people randomly ?

Andouillette · 02/11/2025 01:58

JHound · 02/11/2025 00:51

But has it been confirmed it was a terror incident though?

And surely the anti terrorism bods are the best ones to decide whether it is or is not terrorism? It would be mad not to call them in!

NoNever · 02/11/2025 02:10

FrothyCothy · 02/11/2025 01:45

Police don’t usually name before charging.

They named Paul Doyle as a suspect almost immediately after the Liverpool Parade incident, before charges were laid. No hiding his identity.

To show how not racist they are by having their “first thought” be “it must be a white man.”

two people arrested after a random attack on strangers in public

of course terrorism comes to mind as this has very much been part of our recent history

some are just wrapped up in being too concerned how they might be judged for having such a thought

Toony · 02/11/2025 02:12

Unfortunately, as soon as I hear about this attack, I knew 90% certain the colour of the attacker and that it would either be some sort of terrorist attack or “mental health”. I can’t believe I am
almost at the point of voting Reform too having always been liberal left wing labour voter….

WishinAndHopin · 02/11/2025 02:16

Like the Southport stabbings, you can also bet on the colour of the victims.

He was named locally/on social media, not by the police. Sick of everything being a conspiracy theory these days because people with one GCSE want to feel clever 🙄

Newcastle are away to West Ham tomorrow. My first thought was that it could possibly be football related.

There may be fans caught up in it but it will not have been triggered by them. Newcastle fans are known to be well behaved and get along with other teams.

Its far more likely to be about religion.

Using murdered children to push a racist agenda. Wow.

Reform Propaganda.

How are official figures Reform Propaganda.

Yellowshirt · 02/11/2025 02:22

spoonbillstretford · 02/11/2025 01:04

What the actual fuck are you talking about?

Firstly, they are not called LABOUR, they are called THE GOVERNMENT and will be your government for the next four years, because that's how democracy works, however much you cry about it. Labour won, it's about time you got over it.

Secondly, there has been no official statement.

Thirdly, why are so many on here trying to maximise the incident and spread misinformation?

Calm down petal. And Labour will not last 4 more years

Libellousness · 02/11/2025 02:22

Smartskittles · 02/11/2025 00:25

Incidents specifically like these are so rare, period. I was talking about the stats for violence in general.

Most people affected by violence are harmed by the everyday violent acts that go on in every other street in the UK.

Edited

Incidents like these may be incredibly rare but they have a huge and incredibly damaging psychological impact. Plenty of people will now think twice before getting on a train - leading to missed opportunities, missed connections etc - and if they do get on a train, they will feel on edge and unsafe the whole time.

How is it truth when it’s official figures not Reform Propaganda.
Do you have an issue with official figures.

Or maybe she doesn’t live in your lovely leafy area and she can see the rot for herself?

This I’m afraid.
