This is really really scary

BIossomtoes · 02/11/2025 01:05

It’s not on either the Sky or BBC websites. Did the witness say black or wearing black?

He says the man with the knife was black and wearing black.

It was on Sky News - they showed it after their hourly update. Its also all over social media - have a look on Twitter, you'll find it there no doubt. He said they were black men. He witness them getting off the train along with him and other passengers and them being arrested by armed police.

Not sure if this will work, but here's Sky News link for the tweet interviewing a witness:

They have stabbed about 10 people, 2 deaths so far unfortunately.
Where did you read there are two deaths?

just imagine for a moment that one of your loved ones was on that train. You saw it on the news but couldn’t get hold of them. You live in Doncaster. Then you see someone post the above.

think before you type such misinformation.

Morningsleepin · 02/11/2025 01:15

Thoughts and prayers for the victims and fingers crossed that the suspects are not brown. The UK seems like a tinderbox nowadays

PersephonePomegranate · 02/11/2025 01:03

Oh, give it up, it means it's probable.

If it is terrorism, we still don't know the motive behind it. Assuming the perpetrators were black men as the witness accounts PP have quoted are true, they could be black far right extremists for all you know. Would that make peole feel better?

Jesus fucking Christ!! And you lot have the vote. Unbelievable

cottonwoolie · 02/11/2025 01:18

I felt more worried in the 70's and 80's with IRA attacks, but I was younger then and less able to rationalise the stuff I was hearing on the news.

I was born in the 80s but was never that bothered about the threat then unless we were visiting family in NI which was a different ball game.

@spoonbillstretford yes 2017 was a bad year but the Manchester Arena attack did shake me & the foiled plot 2 yrs ago to bomb a hospital also gave me pause for thought. The authorities can't stop every attack & the threat has been substantial for a long time.

DrudgeJedd · 02/11/2025 01:12

I didn't say it turns them into criminals I said that they were war criminals before they started their journey.
An evil man who has raped and murdered in one country is more likely to repeat that behaviour wherever he ends up. I don't want them to end up here.

The perpetrators are generally those who are in the country of origin, which is the whole reason why people have to flee their countries to escape persecution. I understand your concern about not wanting evil people to come here, but there are evil people everywhere and no evidence to suggest that there are more evil people among refugee populations. We might however think more about what more we can do to prevent and deter criminal behaviour among the current UK population.

Er you ought to see their comments on other posts.
The way they are going it won’t be long before they are banned.

He did but he didn’t see it first hand, he asked someone. I think it’s irresponsible to repeat unreliable information.

SurvivalInstinctsOfABakedPotato · 02/11/2025 01:20

That doesn’t necessarily mean complexion, the witness could have been describing the perpetrator as ‘black’ in a more descriptive sense as in evil or scary.

awakeandasleep · 02/11/2025 00:49

I feel like we should have the right to bear arms now as our Government is not protecting us.

Thoughts and prayers with all those affected today.

@awakeandasleep Don't be so utterly foolish. The Americans have that and their murder rate is 10 times ours, per head of population.

More knives, more guns means more dead.

I'm stunned anyone could suggest anything so silly

GentleSheep · 02/11/2025 01:22

My two penneth is that this will turn out to be a home-grown terror attack. Those poor people trapped on the train! Government probably trying to figure out how to tell us without mentioning the religion of the attackers.

Eyewitness called Oliver Foster currently being interviewed on BBC news. This is his account on Twitter

This is a parody account, right? Right?? 😩

KimuraTan · 02/11/2025 01:26

Laughable if it wasn’t so terrifying. That’s your first thought? Someone got on in Peterborough which has a large Muslim population and you think it’s football related. Give your head a good shake love. Police not releasing names of who’ve they arrested. If it were two white football hooligans they’d say so. Counter terrorism officers involved. Need I say more…

cottonwoolie · 02/11/2025 01:26

@Lalgarh that sounds horrific & potentially attacking dc.

He could have but it certainly didn't sound that way.

This isn't my opinion! I was merely sharing what the man said as someone had asked did they say black or wearing black. He said both. Whether reliable or not I'm not saying anything that the man on sky news didn't just say live on air so easy to look up

Again. Not MY opinion. Just what was on the TV

Oh FFS.

That usage of black is absolutely Shakespearean. It is not current at all.

I speak with years of trying to explain to students that "black" had many layers of meaning, not all primary related to, though sometimes applied to Black people.

cottonwoolie · 02/11/2025 01:32

The police do seem to have mobilised very quickly, presumably they are in high alert.

You can't be real person. If you are, you're an absolute moron and should get some help. First you tried to blame Newcastle supporters based on nothing, and now this nonsense. Its farcical.

Netcurtainnelly · 02/11/2025 01:34

spoonbillstretford · 02/11/2025 01:04

What the actual fuck are you talking about?

Firstly, they are not called LABOUR, they are called THE GOVERNMENT and will be your government for the next four years, because that's how democracy works, however much you cry about it. Labour won, it's about time you got over it.

Secondly, there has been no official statement.

Thirdly, why are so many on here trying to maximise the incident and spread misinformation?

They might have won, but they will.not get in again. They've been awful.

TheHouseElf · 02/11/2025 01:35

BIossomtoes · 02/11/2025 01:21

He did but he didn’t see it first hand, he asked someone. I think it’s irresponsible to repeat unreliable information.

He was talking to an armed police officer - not just a random -and he later stated that just just after that on the interview he says that he saw the man at the "back of the station, walking calmly. As the Police were coming through - armed police. I said I think that's the guy and essentially as they got closer to him I started shouting get down, get down. He then was waving a knife, quite a large knife, and then they detained him. I think it was a taser that got him"
