That Times article is a mess
And I don't think Wes Streeting is trying to highlight the salaries in terms of comparing it to that of a politician. None of that appears to be a direct quote from him? sorry if I haven't processed correctly, I barely slept last night.
I think what the article is trying to say is that GPs have plenty of access to funding for their practice to provide a basic service.
But the BMA are known for being an absolute nightmare for getting in the way of any practical suggestions to improve systems.
I'd like to know more about this actually. I wonder if there's any stupidity involved - like when practices get told they're allowed to hire a physicians associate but not a practice nurse. Or any of the conditions attached to the funding they can apply for.
