Brands you (unreasonably) dislike?

I was thinking about this tonight as I parked next to a Renault SUV. It’s completely unreasonable but I’ve never liked the brand since someone I know once said ‘it’s like driving a bin on wheels’. Even though I’m sure the brand is perfectly fine (and very popular) it’s stuck in my head. Apologies to all Renault drivers!

I’ve got other brands I unreasonably dislike too but do you have any?

Laughing at the unreasonable dislike of Morrisons. There’s one near me and the store is due for renovation so inside it’s just old and ‘yellow’. I feel depressed going in, so I avoid.

They seriously need a complete overhaul on their branding and colour scheme - it's the weirdest most outdated place ever.

The only time I ever go in one is when I am on the road for work or going to see a customer and I stop to grab a salad / meal deal from there.

I made the mistake a few weeks ago of thinking "oh I'll just grab the bits I need for dinner tonight whilst I'm here". Never again. I found about 3 items, got so stressed trying to find chicken (this Morrisons has two fridge sections - one at the front of the store and one at the back - for some fucking unknown reason) that I just left my basket and walked out.

Even just typing that out I can feel my blood pressure rising.

Dyson - Support Britain and leave the EU!!! Gave shed loads of money to the Vote Leave campaign and then moved all his production to the Far East. Surely all done for purely selfish and greed reasons. Also won't buy anything from a Brexiteer anyway.

Talipesmum · 30/10/2025 13:08

Haha I love Morrisons, it won my soul when I discovered it was the only store down south to sell parkin at Halloween / bonfire night time. (At least the only one I could find - I’d asked in all the other supermarkets and local bakeries to no avail, they all looked at me funny and with blank expressions!).

Snag tights for their gross adverts.

I'm never touching another Flash product again - again for their insufferable TV ads.

Ryan Air - but that's not without good reason.

Halara jeans - I bought a pair and now they are stalking me round the internet day and night.

I hear you about Halara jeans. I bought a pair and they looked hideous so popped them in the clothes donation bin as I read about the problems sending them back. I get teased constantly with their advertising, and I never want to go near them again.

What?!?! Is parkin a Northern thing?! I did not know that!

please share some
books. I feel very ultra processed

Consumed. Less (Patrick Grant, I'd start with this) Buyology.
To name just 3. All available on Amazon. There's numerous titles on this subject, also I always try to find books on Libby or in the library first though.

NoMoreBrownSofas · 30/10/2025 13:09

Lots of the above are reasonable dislikes though!

My unreasonable
Morrisons. Feels like it's dirty when though it's not
White Stuff. Just feel like anyone who wears it is smug and pretentious and almost certainly has children who wear tutus and wellies.
The Nissan Duke, I feel like people thought they were buying a big car and somehow got confused

All deeply unreasonable!!

notallymcbeal · 30/10/2025 13:11

Daisy by Marc Jacobs - reminds me of the Manson family girls.

Gucci. Purely because of those really shit brown toned handbags with the pattern made out of the logo. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Edited

I always have a chuckle when I go to House of Frasers, Gucci merch is obviously at front of store. I always think why? Who buys this ugly shit 😂

Urgh, I agree. So gauche and 'look at me, I've got money'. Most of the time, they dont.

Same applies to LV, except sometimes those people do have money, just poor taste!

I also hate Longchamp. People who would never be seen dead with a nylon bag from the market are suddenly paying over the odds for an ugly piece of tat because of the label.

Anti-consumerism books...all available on Amazon 😂😭😂

These have made me laugh but I agree with a lot of them. In particular Michael Kors (trying so hard to be a top end designer but in reality is just high street crap with a naff logo).

Also, not a brand but I actually cannot stand Morrisons as a supermarket. I can shop at literally any other supermarket but I actually panic when I have to set foot in a Morrisons. The layout, the price labels and signs... I don't know why but the whole experience sets me on edge and I just need to get out of there as quick as possible 😂

In fairness, I have had my share of Coach and Mulberry but the bag that has lasted longest is a 2015 Michael Kors tote, which has been used as a beach bag and survived five years at university and is still looking good. My daughter still loves it.

Oh god yes the dreaded Longchamp bag I forgot about that one😆

I remember one of the first threads I came across the "La Pliage" bag on. Someone had asked for recommendations for a stylish and practical every day bag and SO many people had mentioned it. I'd never heard of it so wen straight to Google and couldn't believe my eyes 😂The material looks absolutely shite and if it wasn't for the name it would be about a tenner down the market.

The Nissan Cube. The most offensively ugly car ever to roll off a production line.

Can you believe my next door neighbours have not one, but TWO Nissan Cubes?! They had two white ones then something happened to one and they replaced it with a silver one. Just why??? Of all the available cars why would you have two of them? 🤣

The white company-why??

It’s my favourite brand!!

Lindor. My taste in chocolate is very cheap (literally Malteasers or bust) and so any Lindt type chocolate always strikes me as being uppity with ideas above it's station.

My taste in chocolate is cheap as well 😄😄😄

mumofoneAloneandwell · 30/10/2025 13:33

Bayliss and Harding - definitely not luxury, sick of seeing it in Asda

BitOutOfPractice · 30/10/2025 13:34

Dyson. Don’t get me started on Dyson.

I just had to Google what they are. What on earth?! Who approved these?! 😂

Not so much unreasonably (as I think the dislike here is justified)... I had a bit of a 'Pretty Woman' incident while trying to shop at Holland Cooper. The staff member was so snobbish and awful.... so I bought from Fairfax & Favour instead.
Big mistake, HC. Huge!

Love this description!

I think we are all “ultra processed” in the run up to Christmas… It’s absolutely peak time for it, we almost don’t have any choice! Everywhere you turn, its brands, logos, named this and that.

You're not doing it “right” if you haven't bought whatever’s in this year…and this has been going on since I was little - looking at you Tiny Tears, Sindy, Tressy, Barbie etc!

JustReacher · 30/10/2025 13:38

Dachia Duster cars
Snag tights, Lush, John Lewis and probably others for their support of TRAs
Ferrerro Rocher or however you spell it

ComedyGuns · 30/10/2025 13:39

A clothes designer I know recently travelled for research to a factory in Asia where loads of well known underwear brands are made. The owner was giving him a tour and he was shocked to find out that the high-end brands are no better made than than the high-street versions - you’re simply just paying for the name.

Same here!! so funny, my husband seems to love our local Morrisons and I detest it, such an annoying layout no logic what so ever. It just seems grubby and a bit dirty compared to other supermarkets and it's not only our local, the other bigger one is the same.

My husband the other hand hate our local ASDA, which I kind of like.
