What!!! Is this true? Who will take over? I'm shocked!

i love Claudia. I also love how Tess panics and freezes every time Claudia ad libs.

I do like having two women as presenters, but I wouldn’t mind Graham Norton replacing Claudia.

I can’t see him rushing to do it unfortunately (plus he’s probably over budget for the BBC!)

Garamousalata · 23/10/2025 10:46

I love Claudia, especially on Traitors but Tess isn’t great. I can’t see Tess working much again.

Please not Alison Hammond, she’s too much.

Perhaps Janette Manrara?

Janette is too much.

Nonentitynumpty · 23/10/2025 11:32

Well how about Clare Balding to replace Tess, as we hardly have enough of Clare presenting on TV, going rambling, writing books ...

Wheresthebeach · 23/10/2025 11:32

I think the timing is weird...I'd expect it at the end of the series not part way through.

Dear God please not Alison Hammond...barely surviving Bake Off with her.

Won't miss Tess at all, but Claudia is a real loss.

Theremedy · 23/10/2025 11:32

Mel and Sue. That’s all I will accept.

OhNineFiftyFour · 23/10/2025 11:33

All the controversies have just made it feel sleazy now.

Like everything the BBC touches - there's always some grubby sex scandal just below the sequinned surface. Giovanni Pernice, Graziano di Prima, Wynne Evans... added to Huw Edwards, Savile, Russell Brand, Tim Westwood, Gregg Wallace, etc.

The BBC brand has become synonymous with creeps, sex offenders and paedos these days. I'm not surprised they both want out.

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/10/2025 11:33

Hopefully the Beeb will finally put this tired old show to bed. It's had it's time and people like me who are not fans and have never watched a second deserve some different prime time prime season programming.

LavenderBlue19 · 23/10/2025 11:33

Nooooo! I still love it, but one of the best bits is Claudia - I'll really miss her. Hopefully she's getting her own show.

I like the suggestion of Ellie Taylor as a replacement. Would prefer it stays as two women, and very much hope we don't go back to the older man/younger woman format. I bet Anton du Beke will have his eye on it.

Yiayoula · 23/10/2025 11:34

Hannah Waddingham would be interesting !
Likewise Zoe Ball .
Quite like the idea of Rylan .
Please not - Holly, Ben , Janette M , Fleur, Alison Hammond ( though I like her on Bake Off ).

dottiedodah · 23/10/2025 11:35

I think as someone said online that Zoe Ball and Rylan would be great! I think Claudia is so successful with The Traitors ,it has really lifted her profile . She is probably considering other offers .Tess doesnt want to go on without her I dont think .They were the first all girl partnership following Brucies death.

SkippyKangeroo · 23/10/2025 11:35

They need a ' straight man/woman' presenter like Tess to keep to the timings and keep the show on track. It allows Claudia to be a bit of a wild card with the celebs in the ' claudatorium' .

Not sure who this would be, but I agree we don't need more Alison Hammond.

For me they need a fallow year. To be blunt, they need to stockpile celebrities again as the soap actors/ retired sportsperson/ youtubers & one with a disability line up is getting tired.

It will give them to time to properly rethink the format and look over all the processes they have for wellbeing and safeguarding.

dontcallmelen · 23/10/2025 11:35

Zoe & Oti would be good both have dance & presenting experience or Karen Hardy she was great on the nightly strictly show explaining the dance techniques.

mamagogo1 · 23/10/2025 10:53

yes to Gethin Blush Rather like him, as to who else? Not sure

Gethin and Zoe Ball would be a good pair.

HelenaWaiting · 23/10/2025 11:41

Mindgoneblankagain · 23/10/2025 10:37

I vote for Alison Hammond and Gethin Jones. Both previous contestants and very popular. Alison would fill Claudia's shoes with ease and Gethin would be a massive improvement on Tess

I'm sick of seeing Alison Hammond.

It’s the redemption arc we all need.

If you mean Patrick Kielty I don’t think Cat would be up for that!

Can you imagine?? The divorce played out live on SCD 😂

hellotojason · 23/10/2025 11:46

Get that it's not many people's cup of tea but it's interesting that people are saying should be axed, my understanding is it still brings in some of the highest viewing figures for terrestrial TV - which yes itself is a dying medium but whilst it's around I don't see Strictly being scrapped.

In terms of presenters I like the idea of Rylan in Tess role, not sure who would do the Claudia role but neither are particularly difficult roles and could easily be filled and will very quickly adjust to the a new pairing. Agree Tess is crap and can't see her getting much work after this.

Banditbiscuits · 23/10/2025 11:47

I struggle with the jokes Tess has to read as she looks and sounds too wooden. Was never keen on Claudia either. As long as Amanda Holden doesn't do it!

Rylan and Rob Rinder. It would be a hoot.

ItalianGarden · 23/10/2025 11:50

Good, about time!
We need new talent, bored of the same presenters taking over all the shows for 10+ years. They've amassed enough money, let younger people have a go!

FunnyDoginLahLahLand · 23/10/2025 11:53

Ahh what a shame. I'll miss them both. I love Tess, even with all her woodenness. I love judging her outfits 😂

ChatHeeBeeGez6298 · 23/10/2025 11:56

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 23/10/2025 11:26

It's one of the most popular programmes on TV!

Edited

Isn’t that more of a comment on the general standard of other programmes though?

And isn’t it also because they have spread the central content so thin across two shows, It Takes Two on weekday nights, on a podcast and across social media and BBC radio? And in doing so, I believe, have devalued all of it, despite engagement figures remaining high! But that’s more because it’s hard to avoid rather than than people still loving it.

BunnyLake · 23/10/2025 11:56

Lifebeganat50 · 23/10/2025 10:35

At this point the show should just be binned. It was great in the early years with actual celebrities learning to dance, but now it’s total z listers “famous for being famous”, who no one’s heard of and the off screen stuff is taking over.
I haven’t watched it for years

I don’t mind if it stays on as there are probably lots of people who still enjoy it. I used to love it and it was my favourite programme, but I haven’t watched it since I stopped buying a tv licence 3 or 4 year’s ago. Haven’t missed it, or ‘normal’ tv since.

Remember when their stance was No Reality Contestants. Just shows how much it’s been downgraded since that statement.
