Daughter in hospital - full thickness burns

Title says it all really. I took dd to have her hair coloured today - and she's ended up in burns ward, with full thickness chemical burn on her forehead and a 50/50 chance of needing a skin graft. WTF??? Can't believe it.

Am in bits.

I've just read this, poor girl, absolutely shocking behaviour by the salon.. Her pink hair looks lovely and graft looks to be healing well. Don't just accept their first offer either, theyl try come in with a low ball number first and she deserves as much as she can get after what she's been through at such a young age.

Goodness, it all takes so long! It's good you're feeling positive that something is happening at last. Thinking of you and your lovely DD.

Nightmarehairinjury · 24/02/2026 16:20

Dd doing OK. Healing well, but v obvious scars still, headband went back in this morning. I think it's her hair she's more self conscious about that she hasn't really processed the scarring.

Can’t believe how long they are dragging it out.

Poor lass.

Glad it’s been healing well though.

Just hope the insurers admit liability otherwise it could go on a lot longer.

Hi op, how’s your daughter feeling ?

Hi op, how’s your daughter feeling ?

She's doing OK, hair at front looking more like a fringe now! Her hair is still in terrible condition, and because she's only been using temporary colours her roots are looking pretty bad. Hopefully get it sorted next week when last round of pink washes out.

Scarring still very noticeable, but she's coping.

Claim is now with hairdressers insurance Co for them to investigate. They have another couple of months to come back to us.
