A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

REVEALED: How Keir Starmer's 'staged' PMQs sparked anti-Reform UK 'collusion' row

Sir Keir Starmer received a treat ahead of Prime Minister's Questions today. In a pink see-through folder, MPs had already shown their hand.
However, the two MPs whose questions have been seen ahead of time do not sit behind the Prime Minister. Rather than being Labour MPs preparing to lob low ball after low ball at Sir Keir, it was two Liberal Democrat MPs who tipped off No10.

South Cotswolds MP Roz Savage is preparing to ask Sir Keir about brownfield sites and Truro & Falmouth MP Jayne Kirkham is requesting more support on apprenticeships. While the questions appear innocuous enough, there are growing concerns that a Lib-Lab pact is strengthening every week.
The Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey both hurl insults at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage. The pair consistently label the Clacton MP as a shill for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

FFS why bother having two sides of the chamber?

Was Ros Savage the Lib Dem who asked a totally unconvincing, pathetic wet lettuce question about digital ID? I think it was her, first question if you were watching it too? It was weird.

All makes sense now. Ed Davey is bordering on obsequious with Starmer, although Daisy Cooper is more hard-line.

This Government is still not addressing this in a serious way. We know what happened to white children and women back when Tony Blair was PM. There were warnings and reports to local Labour Authorities. Because of the ethnicity and nationalities of the perpetrators little was done to bring those rapists to court.
The Labour Party activists were spending time campaigning to abolish foxhunting. This was considered to be a much more important subject because Labour Party leaders of those Northern Cities might have lost their seats and their influence if they challenged the religious leaders involved.

Over the last few days we have learned that the Labour Party is still trying to minimise the seriousness of the offences by stalling on the way the Enquiry is to be run. It was reported at the weekend that meeting were held with some of the panel members excluded, mainly the Survivors and there is a move to have a Leader from the Police or Social Services. Both those organisations tried to avoid dealing with the problems because of friendship with the perpetrators. Small wonder that survivors assume it a whitewash and reasonably refuse to cooperate.

Pointless. They must be panicking about Reform.

This is the crux of the matter. As well of course, as always, misogyny.

It'll be toxic for the Lib Dems if their supporters feel like they have been hoodwinked into playing Robin to Labour's Batman. I expect they are as keen to be properly represented and hold the government to account as the members and voters of any other party- or else, they would have voted for Labour in the first place.

Exactly. Do the Lib Dems really want to be held responsible for returning toxic Labour to power? They'd be mad to get into bed with Labour in the current climate.

Is that Roz Savage the rower? She was one on my heroes. LibDem MP? Good for her.

She is an amazing rower.

Not such a good MP. She gave Starmer prior knowledge of her question.

Yes, a massive miscalculation - Starmer will take them down with him.

The electorate will see through it, too - one would imagine it will simply play into Reform’s hands.

I hope so. I don’t mind the Lib Dems. I’ve never voted for them (always main parties so far) but they are more a blank than anything, and I like that they oppose digital ID.

But scrabbling up to Starmer, well I hope that backfires.

Fingers are crossed here. And as for this inquiry debacle, it’s another thing that simply doesn’t make sense, how have they managed to get this so wrong again?

I do understand it’s a fraught and complex area but if a lay person can see in 5 mins that chair selection had obvious issues…why on earth couldn’t Labour?

Because its deliberate? Kicking and cans spring to mind

Jenrick has just posted the most scathing post about Starmer on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/share/1HZJf4QWYH/

He's parking his tanks on Keir's and Kemi's front gardens.

Proof of reality is cheerleading for Labour?

That’s a very ambitious claim. I’m sure there must have been at least some voters who didn’t put an x against the Labour name on the ballot paper, and many more who will never do so again, but who are real people.

I could be wrong. Perhaps Labour’s shambles is being opposed by monsters from the id. If so, the imaginary beings are clearly contactable by opinion pollsters and councils who send out voting cards. Maybe YouGov and local authorities are more able than we thought.
