This poor woman. - why won't the NHS help her?

I have to say, she is partly to blame for getting her implants from Turkey, but to be left in absolutely awful pain for months, and with no treatment in sight, it's a travesty in this modern world that this poor woman has to suffer as she is clearly in the worst pain and her physical and mental health must be at rock bottom.

Her TikTok account shows her story.

TikTok profile name: djabeyance

Basically, she's got a dreadful infection in her sinuses from the botched implants, which have led to necrosis and her nose is literally rotting away with a huge hole which is where her nostrils were (are?!)

Sorry to post such a sensitive topic, please be aware that it's quite distressing to see her nose.

I understand that the NHS and surgeons will not treat patients who've had any cosmetic surgery from abroad, due to litigation and the risk of any further complications, but it's madness to think this woman is left to suffer.

Some people on here are sociopaths. No empathy whatsoever.

Having veneers and cosmetic dental work is a choice, I am not feeling terribly sorry . Veneers famously weaken teeth and are a big risk for a start.

So as far as I can see she had veneers for years one fell off and she stuck it back on with glue then went back to Turkey where somehow she was convinced her gums weren’t strong enough and she needed some frankly awful sounding surgery

That is ridiculous!!

I had a crown fall off when I was on holiday in Finland (the tooth of the great abscess story) and I went along to a nice Finnish dentist who stuck it back on (for £80) and hoped it would stay stuck until I got back to Sweden - that was in 2008 and the crown is still going strong today (the crown itself was made in 1995).

I wonder if her DIY attempts to glue it back herself have actually introduced infection into her jaw through unsterile conditions not to mention if she used general glue and not dental glue.

Sounds like you’re fundraising for her…!

I thought this too - sorry OP if it’s not the case. I wondered if you were a relative or friend.

Is it ok for someone who has botched private surgery in the UK to have it fixed on the NHS? Do people get more annoyed because someone went abroad?

I imagine if it was abroad, then medical professionals are possibly more lax, or procedures might not be as strictly adhered to.

No, I'm not. Just a bit of a mug who got suckered into the latest story doing the rounds 😳😆🤣

I have an implant, I got it as the location meant eventual bone loss could have an impact on my sinuses. Like any surgery having an implant is an infection risk.

From her own admission she has been gluing her veneers on with nail glue, so we know she had poor oral hygiene as you can’t do that and maintain good oral hygiene. She has a visible issue in an x-ray, yet an implant is fitted, rather than giving a bone graft time to heal. She states she decided to stop taking prescribed medicine and started taking vitamins instead. She several times turns down antibiotics. While its awful, she is being treated, she’s had mri’s, antibiotics, pain relief, blood transfusions etc, but from her own admission she has repeatedly gone against medical advice.

RealPerson · 11/10/2025 15:17

I don't agree she is an idiot for seeking essential surgery to her mouth when the NHS wouldn't do it. It's terrible she has been lect like this. What kind of country are we in anyway where people don't have literal teeth because it's not affordable

Ginmonkeyagain · 11/10/2025 15:17

Or they are not following aftercare instructions. I have just finished having one dental implant. I had it here in the UK under the care of a private dentist. It has taken seven months from start to finish - lots of checks, scans and time in between for healing -, and I am a ideal patient as I am fit and healthy with good dentail hygiene and good bone density.

Don't people usually return to the private clinic first for aftercare unless it is totally beyond their ability to treat.

Like I know someone who got sepsis after private gallbladder surgery and was sent to the NHS because the private clinic had no ICU (or 24 hour doctor as it turned out)

LoisGriffinskitchen · 11/10/2025 15:20

As someone who works in the NHS I can say categorically that she is not being refused care. The treatment comes down to the treating consultant who k knows her history medically and will be doing what they can and who will have some kind of continuing plan.

Whether they can get her out if pain remains to be seen. I do feel for her though….pain in that area is awful

defrazzled · 11/10/2025 15:20

She has made a series of catastrophic decisions that have had disasterous consequences. The NHS cannot solve a severe infection in all cases and it may kill her. It certainly looks like she will lose her nose. I do have sympathy for her because we seem to live in an age where people expect the state to 'rescue them' - teach their kids to read, provide a healthy diet, provide money if you don't get work etc. This is not how life is. What you do dictates to a large extent, what you end up with, not how you feel or what you want. The childish nature of many adults in 2025 is terrifying to me tbh.

BauhausOfEliott · 11/10/2025 15:20

I feel sorry for her but ultimately none of actually know what her medical situation is and why her doctors don’t feel they can remove the necrotic tissue.

I wouldn’t take her description/understanding of the situation as gospel to be honest. I think she’s a distressed woman who - because she is so desperate about the way she looks now - thinks that talking about her case on TikTok will help her find a private doctor that operate on her for free against the medical advice she’s already had from the NHS. I sympathise with her desperation but I doubt her account of what’s happened is necessarily objective or complete.

GinaDav · 11/10/2025 15:20

LizzyEm · 11/10/2025 14:40

Why doesn't she go back to wherever it is and get them to sort it as aftercare or pay them to sort it out?

Because they are refusing to .

No.

If you’re so vein that you go and pay for cosmetic surgery then if it goes wrong you pay for the consequences.

cosmetic surgery is a choice not a necessity.

So if you choose to have it done, then you and you alone are responsible for having to find the means to put it right if the clinic responsible won’t.

But given this story has been doing the rounds for months I suspect it’s probably a scam.

The surgery she went to Turkey for was not essential. It was to repair veneers that she had previously had done in Turkey. Were the original veneers essential? I doubt it.

Cosmetic dental work shouldn't be done on the NHS unless there's an actual health need. Stained or wonky teeth, if healthy and causing no health issues, aren't really a problem that needs fixing for free on the NHS!

Miyagi99 · 11/10/2025 15:22

They are treating the infection (she says she’s had IV antibiotics and also blood transfusions) but from what I understand (I am medical) her whole face will collapse if they remove the implants due to her compromised bone so she’ll need extensive reconstructive surgery which will no doubt take years. Before they even begin doing that she needs to be free of infection.

Miyagi99 · 11/10/2025 15:24

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 11/10/2025 14:33

But I guess if nobody wants to remove the necrotic tissue, it will keep spreading and the infection will stay?

No, if it’s necrotic it’s already dead. They have been trying to treat the infection.

Think it was to place implants

It was to place implants as a way of sorting out fucked veneers, which she had previously paid to have fitted in Turkey!

Miyagi99 · 11/10/2025 15:27

Dollymylove · 11/10/2025 14:42

Have the NHS refused outright or just put her on a lengthy waiting list?

No, they’ve been treating the infection and she’s had blood transfusions. They can’t do anything about the implants while there’s an ongoing infection but no doubt yes, there would be a massive waiting list. And it would be extensive reconstructive surgery.

mummytothree87 · 11/10/2025 15:27

From what I've read she had been warned against it by the NHS. Went ahead with it anyway knowing there was an issue and knowing her septum.was damaged and required bone grafts then didn't return to have the permanent ones fitted and any follow up. She keeps saying she wants to find someone who will remove the implants, but has been told that whilst there is an infection they can't and that even if they do find someone willing to, due to the damage to her septum and with the bone graft not healing her face may collapse. She already has a go fund me circulating for treatment whilst in the same breath saying she will go private if needed. However no dentists will touch it.

snookiesnax · 11/10/2025 15:29

Many people have things that aren't their fault and they can't get nhs treatment. They live in pain and disability as well. She was warned not to do what she did, now she's using resources which mean someone else won't or they'll have to wait much longer.

Northerngirl821 · 11/10/2025 15:30

UK private dentists will not generally accept patients who have problems with work done overseas, they don’t want to take the risk of becoming liable for any ongoing issues. This should be more widely advertised as it might discourage people from going if they knew they would have to go back to Turkey or whatever if there’s complications.

KnickerlessParsons · 11/10/2025 15:31

Well I do think that people who injure themselves doing extreme sports should have insurance that covers them when they get injured.
Not Sunday morning football, but rock climbing for instance.

Missey85 · 11/10/2025 15:32

Well that's called karma she paid cheap and got a shit job 🙁 why should the British taxpayers now have to pay to fix a problem caused by her ego and vanity?
