This poor woman. - why won't the NHS help her?

I have to say, she is partly to blame for getting her implants from Turkey, but to be left in absolutely awful pain for months, and with no treatment in sight, it's a travesty in this modern world that this poor woman has to suffer as she is clearly in the worst pain and her physical and mental health must be at rock bottom.

Her TikTok account shows her story.

TikTok profile name: djabeyance

Basically, she's got a dreadful infection in her sinuses from the botched implants, which have led to necrosis and her nose is literally rotting away with a huge hole which is where her nostrils were (are?!)

Sorry to post such a sensitive topic, please be aware that it's quite distressing to see her nose.

I understand that the NHS and surgeons will not treat patients who've had any cosmetic surgery from abroad, due to litigation and the risk of any further complications, but it's madness to think this woman is left to suffer.

I'm guessing she's been a bit put off them! And I think they aren't really helping her either.

Then she has to pay privately in the UK to have it fixed then. This is on no one but herself.

MonetsLilac · 11/10/2025 14:55

So; she is getting NHS care. She is not being left to live in pain. However, it's obviously far more complicated than the tiktok story maintains.
Is she fundraising, perchance?

Or harvesting followers and likes

chaosmaker · 11/10/2025 14:59

She sounds like yet another candidate for the Darwin Awards. Should we treat these people?

OP whose surgery should be cancelled, so this vain woman can have her stupid decisions remedied? Someone with nasal cancer? A child with relentless tonsillitis? Someone with an oral tumour?
I would suggest you donate to her GoFundMe page if you feel sorry for her.

I find it really difficult to feel sorry for someone who cheaped out on a pretty major and invasive procedure against the advice of a dentist, and now expects the NHS to pick up the cost.

I obviously wouldn't wish it on anyone, but she was well aware of the risks and the limits of the NHS to sort things should they go wrong.

She was advised AGAINST having this treatment in Turkey by her UK dentist.

Why should the NHS (our taxpayer’s money) bail out people who choose to ignore medical advice?

DirtyMartinii · 11/10/2025 14:52

There is something extremely fishy about the fact that ‘no one will fix me let me drive down to London from Telford’ she needs the implants out but she’s already on 4 waiting lists for ent and max fax now. She had iv antibiotics for 24 hours and when she was told they wouldn’t operate until the infection is at least cleared up marginally she discharges herself.

Wait for the Daily Mail article and a GoFundMe campaign to raise money, which will mysteriously not end up with the NHS, who will be browbeaten into trying to make good someone else’s mistake, but go into a nice holiday for her and her family when this is all over ;)

The key difference between this and someone who has a car accident or skiing accident is that those activities aren’t carried out against medical advice. She was told this treatment wasn’t suitable and she couldn’t have it in the UK. She thought she knew better, went to a back street surgeon in Turkey and now it’s gone wrong, expects the taxpayer and NHS to pick up the tab. No sane surgeon will touch it privately, so if the NHS does spend time and resources she should be billed as if she was a private patient. She elected, and paid, for the unnecessary work that got her in this position. She should pay for the remedial work, wherever it’s carried out - and then she can always sue the original surgeon for her money.

Yes, i think we should. But i do agree with others about the fact that she should pay privately to get it sorted quicker.

Lol I know ir must look.like thar! I'd read the TikTok account more thoroughly but I'm looking after my 3 DC while trying to post here 😅

Sounds like you’re fundraising for her…!

of course that's completely untrue!

PropertyD · 11/10/2025 15:03

So she had money to do these daft things after being told that she shouldn’t and now claims she has no money and the good old NHS picks up the tab. This silly women needs to take some personal responsibility here and stop whinging.

Did you mean to quote me there.

I said it was against the advice of a dentist, and don't agree the NHS should foot the bill.

Of course not. I never suggested it would be necessary for the NHS to cancel necessary surgery for the patients who are in genuine greater need.

I don’t have empathy for someone who went against medical advice for vanity reasons

BlueandPinkSwan · 11/10/2025 15:06

CaroleLandis · 11/10/2025 14:37

I have no sympathy at all. The NHS resources and time should not be wasted on these idiots.

!00% agree with this unless it's done for proper medical reasons.
Vanity can sometimes seriously injure your health and possibly kill you.

TeenLifeMum · 11/10/2025 15:07

Dh is on an ENT NHS wait list for 18 months due to polyps needing to be removed. Every time he has a cold he is in huge amounts of pain. Why should she skip the queue (especially as it’s self inflicted). I assume the antibiotics have been on the NHS?

tiresomee · 11/10/2025 15:07

This isn’t the first time this lady’s ‘story’ has been posted on MN. She’s not giving the full story in her TikTok’s. She doesn’t just want the NHS to treat her infections, she wants them to provide a whole set of new implants for free.

ComfortFoodCafe · 11/10/2025 15:07

Unfortunately she choose to go to Turkey despite the warnings. She needs to get it fixed privately, the nhs are pretty strict on this.

WaterWall22 · 11/10/2025 15:08

I saw this same story promoted some months ago by an influencer, again with the same untruths about her having sepsis and NHS not treating her because her dental treatment was abroad. Like people have said before NHS would not leave someone untreated if there was an active infection.
If she had sepsis last summer and no one treated her I'd assume she'd no longer be here..
Just have to wonder how this story just keeps doing the rounds...

One can have empathy without wanting NHS resources wasted. She clearly had money to pay for the unnecessary work in the first place; why shouldn’t she pay for the remedial work?

Given the state of the NHS this woman’s action have delayed treatment for someone else; someone who didn’t ignore medical advice and actually needed treatment. The only sociopath is the woman who ignored medical advice and now thinks her self inflicted medical needs/wants are more important than genuine patients.

These peeps ar total idiots, end of.

Funnywonder · 11/10/2025 15:10

Is it ok for someone who has botched private surgery in the UK to have it fixed on the NHS? Do people get more annoyed because someone went abroad?

Yeah, it's a bit FAFO. And she is being helped.
