A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Macron will appoint yet another prime minister later today 🙄.
Another leader who cares only about staying in power. Looks like his plans to increase the age of retirement will be sacrificed so he can cling on.

Oh dear. Another set of deaf ears with nothing inbetween. Is there some factory somewhere churning out these limp wristed leftie robots?
He won't call a snap election because the French people won't go for their vote rigging shenanigans a second time after this monumental coalition failure.

Son's firm has remained unusually quiet about their pay rise and bonus. Usually by now there has been an unnofficial announcement but so far stony silence. So the workforce are not holding their breath.

That’s totally rubbish, I’m sorry. And doesn’t it just feel like we’re in for years of this…

Labour should be terrified that they’re headed for collapsing consumer and business confidence - the signs are there and gathering.

They aren't because it = more on benefits and an excuse to increase public sector

upseedaisee · 10/10/2025 10:23

Well this isn't good.

Keir Starmer has been accused of pushing some of his last remaining progressive allies out of government as he embarks on another shake-up of his Downing Street operation designed to empower his chief secretary, Darren Jones.
The prime minister is overseeing a reorganisation of several key parts of his government, including the delivery and policy units, to refocus the policy work and give Jones more direct control of the machinery of government.
The changes are part of an attempt by Starmer to regain the political initiative after a troubled first year in office, during which Labour has slumped in the polls and he has been accused of showing a lack of political vision.

They don’t get any of this. ‘Workers’ means public sector and private sector is just something to be hammered.

They are so dim and cut off they don’t get the connection for funding.

Here was me thinking this digial ID was purely to stop illegal working. Do we still have child slavery in this country? or are we looking at child control by the state.
I'm begining to feel the chill of the Stasi at my neck.

Deck chairs. Titanic.

Interesting that the article points towards lots of women leaving downing street, being replaced by centrist men. Also that there will no longer be an advisor on equalities policies 👀.

The VAT on private schools is making more sense now. Can't have worker bees outside the collective. I really do feel for those of you with children at state schools.

Why do children need it if it's purpose is to stop illegal working? They make me sick 🤬

Exactly. They must celebrate every time a child is pulled out of an indi school.

Exactly. Independent schools pose a huge threat as they don't have to follow the national curriculum, can be inspected independently and are free to be creative etc. That's the last thing Labour want because everyone must be contained within a state sanctioned box

Marxist fuckers

I worry about Darren Jones; he appears to have a massive chip on his shoulder. Giving him (even more) power is akin to appeasing the playground bully, IMO.

Because we are. Until someone competent takes control of the economy, none of it will get better. Only worse. Until the wealth inequality gap is addressed, we all pay (apart from the uber rich and the people who live on benefits without paying any tax, in fact they’ll suffer a bit too as bills rise and benefits cover less).

We all suspected digital ID only had ‘value’ as a stalking horse for enhanced state control.
