You just couldn't make it up could you? I can't get my head round it. Confused

I believe we have been fully infiltrated by bots and scum deliberately aimed at normalising fascism.

I am the least conspiracy like person but very logical. And this has become so apparent.

I can't believe some of the comments on here, heartless, full of conjecture and judgement. A very young man is dead, his family will be devastated and will never be the same again yet all some posters can do is post negative speculation. I read this news when I woke up and all I felt was shock and sympathy.

Could not agree more. I am sickened by some of the posts on this thread in response to the death of a teenager in the most tragic circumstances.

DancingNotDrowning · 04/10/2025 10:42

WolfingtonBear · 04/10/2025 10:36

It is not biased or racist to wonder why a young man would repeatedly put himself in risky situations. They are completely normal thought processes..

It does not detract from the sadness of the loss of a young life, and how regrettable his death is.

Are suggesting that a young black man being out after midnight is “put[ing] himself in a risky situations”?

AhBiscuits · 04/10/2025 10:43

His mother has been through unimaginable pain. That poor woman, my heart breaks for her. He really made terrible choices with the company he kept.

DancingNotDrowning · 04/10/2025 10:44

I suspect a young man who has been held in a high security prison in the UAE has more cause than most to be afraid of the police.

This is ridiculous. It isn’t bots, it’s people! Social media and finding others who think like you, even when they’re nasty/antisocial thoughts has emboldened millions to say exactly what they really think without receiving any real life push back for it. This is who social media has made us, especially Twitter/X with their say the most hard hitting statement in as few words as possible ethos. It’s depressing to acknowledge I grant you.

I will reserve judgement until we find out the reason why the car he was a passenger in was blue-lighted by police and why it failed to stop.

I've been pulled over by the police before on the way to work in the middle of the night, in the type of car that clearly gets profiled. There were reinforcements arriving as the first car came over to talk to us.
The second they saw we were two white, middle class sounding women everything changed. The back up was immediately dismissed, they apologised for stopping us.
Had we been two young black men there is no way things would have gone the way they did for us. That's likely why the driver didn't stop.
Whatever the reasons the driver didn't stop though, the passenger isn't responsible for any of them. You don't need to wait to hear if his mate is a wrongun or not to have sympathy for a young man who has died.

You may well be right but I still feel for his Mum and other family

DancingNotDrowning · 04/10/2025 10:36

He was a passenger.

by all accounts prior to spending time in jail he was a studious, law abiding young man in a good track.

if he was mixed up in something untoward (and who knows why the police were chasing the car) then there’s a strong chance that was a result of the traumatic experience of being jailed for a consensual relationship

My thoughts exactly.

x2boys · 04/10/2025 10:40

He was 19 .

Thank you, I thought he was 17. Still an unfortunate circumstance though and another waste of a life through some sort of misadventure.

Foolish young men will be risk takers. I feel horrible for his family.

Yes, but after the experience he had in Dubai he may literally have been scared for his life when he saw UK police lights. He may have been irreparably traumatised. I agree with OP that the vindictive mother in the original case should have a hard time looking at herself in the mirror for the rest of her life as her actions likely played a part in this.

Zov · 04/10/2025 10:50

BlondeFool · 04/10/2025 10:41

@soupyspoonHe was 19. And the passenger. You have NO idea what went on.

Exactly. Even if he and his mates were playing up/being 'naughty' none of them deserved to die. 😢

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 04/10/2025 10:51

WolfingtonBear · 04/10/2025 10:25

Dreadfully sad, his poor family, but completely unrelated to the issues in Dubai imvho.

Yes, completely unrelated. It’s not at all uncommon for young males in particular to fail to stop for police (because they’re unqualified drivers/have no insurance/have been drinking/taking drugs) and increasing their speed to dangerous levels in the hope of getting away.

That is exactly what a bot would do...😁

Bot is the wrong word for mn (but not for FB or Twitter where it

Funningitup · 04/10/2025 10:53

Poor boy. I felt awful for him and his family. They must have so many what ifs and so much grief. It’s a tragic waste and it’s not at all hard to imagine his prison experience may have made it hard to settle back into exactly where he was before.

On mumsnet a uni aged kid being a fool is routinely described as needing time for their brain to develop but when it’s a young black boy who has already suffered a disturbing and racially aggravated sentence being a passenger in a vehicle that didn’t stop for police some are very quick to judge him as a risk taking idiot.

I have only got contempt for the racist conjecturing that seeks to malign his character. I don’t understand what is up with people posting this shit.

XelaM · 04/10/2025 10:53

Oh no 😢 this is so awful. That poor boy and family!

The mother of the girl who reported him in Dubai is fucking evil!

Onmytod24 · 04/10/2025 10:56

We forget the preciousness of life until we hear a story like this. I really felt for him in prison and now it’s all over. Very sad

BlondeFool · 04/10/2025 10:57

The lack of empathy and judgemental comments are shocking.

Muffinmam · 04/10/2025 10:57

Everythinghascrumbled · 04/10/2025 09:59

Why does it make you angry about the mother who reported him for something unrelated? She wasn’t driving the car ? This likely would have happened anyway ?

It is awful for his family.

It’s a relief noone else was killed in the police chase.

localnotail · 04/10/2025 10:58

Awful coincidence, my thoughts are with his family - but I cant see what that got to do with him being jailed?

Terrible loss of life ((

It’s not her fault that this young adult died.
