Chance of a general election next year and Reform winning?

1000 replies

Confused78 · 25/09/2025 21:50

They are winning in the polls it seems. I've been watching Nigel Farage's Instagram, he really just talks common sense. I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he says.
I'm definitely not far right and I'm not a leftie,
I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
But I am sick of Conservative and Labour and think it's time to give a new party a chance, especially if they are going to properly tackle illegal immigrants coming over and the ones that are already here.
I don't necessarily agree with his call to deport those with Indefinite leave to remain however.

Jesus that's a load of hyperbolic nonsense

Is it though?

What do you think will happen to the NHS under Reform?

Lots of voices here complaining about benefit claimants.

And only today the Tories have said they'd leave the ECHR.

NF saying he will repeal Indefinite Leave to Remain.

I'd suggest taking your head out of the sand.

And Britain did colonise and plunder half the world.

What will happen with NHS? NF has said it will remain free at the point of use. Are you aware that Labour's current 10 Yr plan will entrench privatisation in the NHS eg bring back PFI etc?
Where i live there are already no NHS dentists so how would Farage make that worse?

I'm not the one with my head in the sand. Maybe you should look more closely at Labour

Some opinions and behaviours are immoral though. And Farage’s general conduct has been pretty unpleasant over the years.
It won’t end the world if Reform get in, no. It could easily end the NHS and British values though (he doesn’t share them). Look at America. That’s what he wants. Going well there, isn’t it?

Some opinions and behaviours are immoral though

Taxing children’s education and custodial sentences for Facebook posts come to mind.

NF has also said "I think we’re going to have to move to an insurance-based system of healthcare".

And if you believe his pledges now he's riding high, good luck to you. Or perhaps you don't need it.

Lmao like Starmer then?

You don't actually know anything about Reform's plans other than running around shouting "we are all doomed".

Neither do you. And that suits them just fine. Except to get rid of Johnny Foreigner. Although they wouldn't though - the country would grind to a halt.

Oh please. I have a SEND kid in a state school, previously private, so I have skin in the game.

That policy was fair and just. It should have come a lot sooner.

I think you should take more than a look inside your head if you think Reform will bring anything good to this country apart from themselves and their millionaire mates.

There was nothing fair about it. UK is now only country in the world to tax education of children.
How is it fair to tax children's education but not the education of adults? Would love to hear how you twist yourself in knots about that one.

Reverse education tax
controlled immigration
reform NHS
end employment opportunities based on skin colour
reduce overall income tax
shrink benefits for immigrants

I’m not really sure what to be frightened about. Seems entirely sensible.

Threatening to throw legal immigrants paying their taxes out of the country, thereby separating families - sensible?

Restoring tax relief to elite institutions educating the most privileged - sensible?

"Reform NHS" = flog it off to the highest bidder or outsource essential services to private providers thereby making them even more out of reach for a lot of people - sensible?

end employment opportunities based on skin colour - wow, so you openly admit you're racist and support racist policies?

reduce overall income tax - and pay for essential public services how?

shrink benefits for immigrants - why? I'm a legal immigrant and have been paying taxes here for over 25 years. I receive child benefit for my children, and why shouldn't I? Or should I get less than you?

Sensible? OK.

inertia123 · 02/10/2025 20:29

Besides, Farage knows perfectly well that he won't do any large-scale culls of immigrants because the NHS, the care sector and the hospitality industry would grind to a halt if he did. Don't believe his lies. They're the new Brexit bus BS.

untaxed education is available to all. Nobody was jailed for ‘facebook posts’. They were jailed for admitting to incitement to violence. That’s a crime whether on Facebook or shouted from the Town Hall steps.

Wasn’t it just removing ILR?

Restoring tax relief to elite institutions educating the most privileged - sensible

? This doesn’t make sense. You might want to relook at the VAT on education and vocational training. It’s a tax on children’s education not ‘elite institutions’

end employment opportunities based on skin colour - wow, so you openly admit you're racist and support racist policies?

Wouldn’t ending employment opportunities based on skin colour be the opposite of racist?

reduce overall income tax - and pay for essential public services how

Reducing benefits for immigrants and ending net zero as well as encouraging growth by actually getting to keep your salary.

shrink benefits for immigrants - why? I'm a legal immigrant and have been paying taxes here for over 25 years. I receive child benefit for my children, and why shouldn't I? Or should I get less than you

To improve quality of live for British people and reduce the UK immigration pull factor. I receive zero benefits, absolutely nothing and I paid 78k income tax last year. I want to start seeing something for my contribution along the lines of police, roads, infrastructure, schools, defence rather than an ever increasing benefit bill for net tax takers.

A lot of your worries can be put to rest by just doing a bit of research and not listening to odd Labour propaganda, these are entirely sensible ideas….so far anyway.

Trying to put a different spin on it doesn't change the facts.

And Reform's (or yours as stated above) fiscal plans don't make any financial sense.

Improve life for British people - you seriously need to learn that no man is an island. Inviting people here to do a lot of the country's dirty work and then reducing their living standards and threatening to kick them out for political points is really, really low. I'd call it morally bankrupt.

increasing benefit bill for net tax takers - these are mostly British people. The vast majority of immigrants who are allowed to work their arses off.

It's you who needs to do a bit more unbiased research and dig your head out of your rear end.
