Why was it mostly men on the march?

I've seen quite a few photos of the march yesterday, and they pretty much all look like the one below. Vast majority men. Why is that? Why is Robinson's patriot messaging and call-to-action landing mostly with men and not women?

Voting by sex wasn't massively different in the last general election - men were certainly more likely to vote Reform, but not by a huge amount, so generally politically we're not that different.

I think we all know why the Carnival keeps being mentioned ...

To be honest Notting Hill Carnival has been surrounded by controversy for years due to the numbers attending and the arrests. There have been numerous stabbings and a murder over the years.

Piggywaspushed · 15/09/2025 19:16

I'm aware.

Those 3 specific figures/venues were posted as a meme on SYL's social media, so that poster is just parroting the propaganda they've swallowed.

Yes, also aware!

So by your reckoning no protest can truly be " peaceful ", even if the vast majority of attendees don't commit acts of violence or cause disruption? You're edging towards an authoritarian state if you really believe that; where the right to protest is banned and freedom of speech is curbed. Is that really desirable? I do agree though, that any act of aggression is despicable, whomever it comes from.

@BisAttack
So you believe that injuring policemen doing their job is ok????

Is breaking someone’s nose your definition of freedom speech???

There have been plenty of protests where this has not happened.
I have never said the protest shouldn’t have happened. But it was not a peaceful protest.
And violence was not the only negative thing about it. There were also those ‘patriots’ not knowing what a toilet is and pissing in public places.

What on earth are you on about? violence is never acceptable, show me where I said otherwise?

You are minimising the violence in your previous post. Objecting to calling a protest where policemen were injured “a peaceful protest” is according to you “edging towards an authoritarian state”. Is this clear now?

Which is awful and shouldn't be happening. But it's not a protest, it's 10-20 times the size of this march and spans days not hours. I'm not sure what the relevance is.

No, it's not and I find your accusations and derogatory language towards me totally unacceptable.

The relevance is that no matter what the event, where there are large crowds there will nearly always be thugs who only go to cause trouble.

I was in central London yesterday. Absolutely not a part of this ridiculous march though. I did notice that all the men on this march looked and sounded the same: overweight, white, terrible teeth, covered in tattoos, smoking, drunk, perving, vile, shouting, pissing in the street, embarrassing themselves. I was ashamed to be English yesterday.

I take it you managed to get a close up look at literally thousands of men on the march then? Blimey, that's some feat.

Not difficult if you’re going about your usual business along their route.

Not difficult to catch a glimpse of all the men in attendance, even the ones in the middle of the huge crowds?
Do you really think that's possible?
I can't wait for your answer.

Uricon2 · 16/09/2025 19:23

Yeah, @Lemonandorangecheescake they were all perfect masculine specimens, especially the ones throwing flares at police horses and pissing in the grounds of St Thomas's hospital.

Also, you have been a bit Frank Sinatra on this thread, after telling us that you were not going to give us any more of your valuable time.

Thousands or all of them?
Thousands, not terribly difficult.

Even if you say thousands, it's obviously impossible to be able to glimpse every male (and be able to tell that they've got terrible teeth) in a crowd like that. To say otherwise is just plain daft. Then again, I can't say I'm surprised with your response.

Ok.

Pot/kettle 🤣

MrsSkylerWhite · 16/09/2025 19:54

Out of interest, why is it illogical to suggest it’s quite possible to form a view of the participants of a protest if you find yourself walking alongside them for some time?

Especially when the mostly men in question, as was overwhelmingly the case at the weekend, obviously shared certain characteristics ranging from physical traits to what they were chanting. These shared characteristics would have been very obvious to even the most casual observer.

MrsSkylerWhite · 16/09/2025 19:55

Why are you instructing me to not engage with you if you’re all about free speech?

Crikeyalmighty · 17/09/2025 12:56

@MrsSkylerWhite these marches are full of elderly football yobs who have never really got anywhere - plus a few younger and politically naive people too . somehow their leadership kept them under control with a Tory gvt - strange that

but don’t worry coz they luvs their mum and will beat up anyone ( including their wife) who glances at their wife. It’s like a bad edition of Take a break - mixed in of course with a few women who think their bloke can do no wrong and they just take on his views . Thing is what are they actually marching about ? If it’s about immigration , then the current gvt actually don’t disagree with them but they themselves made it hard to turn round easily due to voting for Brexit and the various controls in place - the Danes are in EU and have a very tight immigration policy. it was the Tory’s who let in unprecedented numbers of ‘legal’ 3rd world immigrants post Brexit and allowed their families in too - maybe these marchers should get out their GB news bubble and actually look at who Reform have now in their ranks - the very same people that went along with causing mayhem as part of the gvt with Johnson and Sunak and defunded the country for years
