No-one is mentioning Trump's stroke

CharlotteCChapel · 12/09/2025 09:12

It's like tumbleweed out there. During the live televised 9/11 remembrance service Trump's face drooped on one side.

No-one in the mainstream media seems to be mentioning it.

Ive only seen it mentioned on IHIP and the Meidas Touch.

He was a good person.

No, he wasn't.
Only people with equally grotesque views would call him good.

RingoJuice · 12/09/2025 12:03

Nobody seems to have blamed Ms Hortman. They directed their criticism at Gov Walz. I don’t see how it’s equivalent and it’s a MASSIVE reach in order to draw some sort of equivalence.

Let me rephrase: he was a good man who held views you don’t like.

What victims are you referring to here? Trump is most definitely not a victim! The fact that these men are white is relevant though, because many of them are anti anyone who isn't white. Keep digging.

I'm not digging at all, I'm calling you out on exactly what you said. I'm talking about Charlie Kirk as the victim. Unless you don't think he was a victim, you know, just a white man and all that... And as an aside, seeing as he has been mentioned in this thread, Trump.

wiminny · 12/09/2025 12:05

MorrisZapp · 12/09/2025 11:56

Who is this left? Is it UK Labour voters? Mainstream US Democrats? Unhinged college students from Portland?

I'd like to know what this catch all word "Left" actually means also.

Anyone other than the "right" Right maybe?

The polarisation is so evident, but maybe comes in part from a FPTP system (like America and UK) that doesn't allow for any power to filter down to moderates, centrists, or just plain different voices. Maybe?

All of the above - there are examples of all the groups above, plus more, really showed the true colours of the ‘tolerance’ and ‘kindness’ and what other bullshit attributes they self-identify to themselves.

The sheer number of them was eye opening.

I used to think it was a vocal few, just the usual crazies, which you’ll always have.

But it’s across the spectrum, even in real life, people I thought were normal rational people, just absolutely revelling.

It’s scary, how easy they pronounce death as the punishment to the crime.

Yes it’s being accepted / normalised. Think about teen dc now seeing adults online revel in violence. It’s what we’re teaching them.

RingoJuice · 12/09/2025 11:58

He was a good person.

A good person doesn’t want to take voting rights away from women.
A good person doesn’t believe a rape victim should be stopped from having an abortion.
A good person doesn’t believe empathy is made up.
A good person doesn’t believe school shootings are just collateral damage.

Honestly it’s terrifying the lack of respect for women and children have been shown on this forum

What on earth is going on with the threads on MN the last few days.
First defending Charlie Kirk and describing him as a good person. What happened was absolutely horrific and my heart actually breaks for his family. No one should of had to witness that.
But let’s not pretend he was a good person.

Now people want to defend a child rapist and abuse anyone who speaks poorly of him.
Trump doesn’t care about any of you.

From my perspective, it’s not so much that people care if you think he or Trump are good people.

Thats peoples opinions.

But I’ve honestly been horrified by the unadulterated glee I’ve been seeing across SM.

The fact that people think they are the ‘good’ people is the problem.

Advocating/celebrating someone’s death, or harm to them, or to their health, because they said things you don’t like makes them ‘bad’ people too, and they genuinely don’t see it. They genuinely think they have the high ground/are morally superior.
And they’re absolutely not.

Obviously I’m discussing it here, but this isn’t a comment on this particular thread.
But the first thread I saw about CK shooting/death exemplified what I mean, so it’s definitely on mumsnet too.

Blue sky. Twitter. Facebook. Here (the thread that was deleted was horrendous).

If you’ve not seen it, you need to take the hands from your eyes.

Why do people post this blank stuff. You’re on a thread where posters have said sadly not a stroke or good if so. Or happy days when a politician dies.

Just reading about Oxford Uni Guy revelling in death of CK. How are you missing it, it’s on the thread.

Well X is a cesspit all the time so that's par for the course.
But you've failed to actually demonstrate any of it, so I suppose you see what you're looking for. I'll take your word for it (with a pinch of salt of course).

He was a good person.

Do good people mock the deaths of people, refer to qualified people as lacking “brain power”, or believe intense oppression is better for some groups and call for women to avoid life choices that increase autonomy?

Are good people anti-semites that promote anti-semitic tropes?

blogs.timesofisrael.com/kirks-murder-cant-erase-his-antisemitism/

What good things did he do.

Oh honestly, this is laughable. Trump and his acolytes don't get a free pass. Should we rise above Boris Johnson? Angela Rayner? Or hold elected officials to account?

A free pass on what? He should never have mocked Bidens health struggles, that just shows him up as a terrible person.

I can't stand Boris Johnson and the history books should rightfully show he was one of the worst PMs we've ever had the misfortune to be lumbered with. But it didn't occur to me to whoop and cheer gleefully when it looked like he might die from COVID.

Who did he mock the deaths of? Sounds very unlike him tbh. Link it.

I think I'm more fearful the fact that Vance will take over if Trump is incapacitated. So for that reason alone I'll take the ageing Trump who might, just might mellow a bit because he's knackered. It doesn't change what or who is and has been, but still the devil you know.....

Yes agree totally. Plus Trump is desperate to get the Nobel peace prize, which given the rhetoric he used regarding the awful assassination of Charlie Kirk (I didn't know him and abhorr his polarising 'debates'), seems increasingly unlikely - he seems to forget that he desires it, which is another worry.

Hollyhobbi · 12/09/2025 12:13

Aerom · 12/09/2025 10:32

The White House lies about his health etc. They say he's 6ft 3 and 225lb - 16st 1lb. Utter BS. As when Trump stands next to various other politicians and other major figures and these are 6ft 1/6ft 2 tall, they are taller than Trump.

Trump is more 5ft 10.5 and 300lb (21 st 6lb). 6ft 3 was his height before he shrunk.

Then there are the bruises on the back of his right hand which he either covers by putting left hand over right or very badly applied make up. This is from a cannula - ie he has something injected in him via IV.

You never see him going from a sitting to standing position and vice versa.

The Kirk speech was AI as background looks weird and his speech sounds too clear. He mumbles and slurs.

Or he could have had blood tests taken from there or be on blood thinners and banged his hand off something.

The thing is, even if you were to give examples, then it would be ‘cherrypicking’ or ‘pushing a narrative’ or they’d start attacking the source or whatever.

It’s all so predictably tedious.
