Horrible and scary start to the day.

I was woken at 5am by palpitations. This often happens when I have a bad cfs crash. I got up and found a pulse oximeter which read 155 pulse, 79 oxygen. I was feeling panicky because the heart rate stayed high, so woke DH.

He phoned 111 and they sent an ambulance. It took two hours to arrive. I had a thorough assessment over the phone, and they called back during the wait to check I had no chest pain. The ambulance crew measured everything and decided I should go to hospital. I was at the hospital just after 8, then had my bp done and an ecg. I sat waiting in urgent care until 12.30 then saw a lovely young doctor. Bottom line is my bloods etc are fine, so I was sent home to rest.

As if I wasn't already resting! Anyway I am so grateful there is no cause for concern. It was frightening. Not sure I dare go to sleep tonight!

Oh no, that sounds very scary. Glad to hear that they checked you over thoroughly, and that you're back home and resting up.

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 14:00

Thanks @VikingNorthUtsire I really intend to rest like crazy now.
We have a house viewing tomorrow but I'm going to be sitting in Morrison's car park with my kindle while the agent walks them round.

FurForksSake · 27/10/2025 15:10

Sorry to hear @TeaAndStrumpets sounds scary and horrible. My mum has AF and has needed to go in urgently a few times and it’s always distressing.

DH is dying with a cold, so we’ve stayed in the cabin today. I managed to shower and wash my hair. Took kids for a walk down to the woods, felt really positive and then eldest had to help me back afterwards. Log burner js lit and I’m firmly on the sofa.

Tiredandwired2 · 27/10/2025 15:16

@TeaAndStrumpets Im so sorry that sounds so scary, stressful and draining. I'm glad they were thorough. It really is a cruel illness.

@FurForksSake happy belated birthday! That view looks amazing.

I got a bit carried away with my new energy envelope and yesterday decided to wash the dog. It's something I haven't been able to do for a while.

Today I am exhausted and so heavy. Managed a short walk around the block with the dog but absolutely floored.

For the rest of the day I am hoping to find the energy to sort out a leak I have in the living room, register myself for HCPC (in the hope I can work again next year) and then chuck some sausages in for dinner this evening which I will have with instant mash, broccoli & I have some yorkshires.

In reality I don't have the energy to do this so I may have to do a little of each & leave the rest for another day.

What I want to do is watch the cheesy Christmas channel on ITV and zone out with plenty of cups of tea.

MewithME · 27/10/2025 15:17

Flipping Eck @TeaAndStrumpets ! Calm thoughts...... Breathe and rest.

I have had another difficult day with shitty colleagues. If it was just one, it would be easier but seriously, people do not know how to behave. Most of these are mid managers.

I'm going to rest for a bit then send some emails to set a few things straight. It's exhausting 😭

Stress is so bad for MEcfs. If I could find another job that pays the same for the same hours and flexibility and pension I would...but that's just dreaming so on I go. I will read some Sun Zhu or something.

@FurForksSake thank you it was scary indeed but certainly a lesson that I must get better at pacing. My son in law had AF fixed by ablation and that was a great success. I'm hoping the tachycardia isn't going to be lasting.

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 15:24

Oh and your holiday sounds fabulous!

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 15:26

@Tiredandwired2 sounds like great plan!

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 15:35

Thanks @MewithME . Trying to avoid stress going forward. AI says I should try a cold flannel on the neck or singing for cfs crash tachycardia. (vagus nerve

Sorry you have work stress. They do say hell is other people!

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 15:47

FGS an extra viewing in the morning - better to agree to it than hoover everywhere yet again later in the week. I should be grateful after 2 months with nobody coming but I just resent them disturbing my peace. Looking for somewhere relaxing to drive to, could take a picnic I suppose.

EducatingArti · 27/10/2025 16:30

Sorry to all those dealing with various types of stress today. I've been trying to pack before I move out tomorrow. The kitchen smells of rotten eggs. I need to cook tonight to use up ingredients before I go! Not much incentive. I've done lots of phone scrolling around tiny bouts of packing.
Then about a couple of hours ago I accidentally took a melatonin tablet! So I'm going to have an hour's snooze then do the cooking!

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 16:34

Best of luck @EducatingArti you will be so pleased to come home to a fresh new space!

Hotbeverageplease · 27/10/2025 16:36

@TeaAndStrumpets absolutely Sod’s Law re the viewings tomorrow but hope you can find somewhere quiet and calming to enjoy a car picnic at least.

@MewithME the work colleagues sound so frustrating. I know how bad stress is for ME but impossible to avoid it sometimes.

Quiet day here, managed to clean the lounge and one bathroom with rests. Rare day at home for DD who alternates between playing with the dog and chilling in her room. Impromptu trip to the launderette for DH with a duvet as the little dog was sick this morning! Such an exciting life we lead eh?! Hoping for a little half term trip out at some point even if it’s just to a coffee shop for breakfast!

Hotbeverageplease · 27/10/2025 16:37

Lots of luck for tomorrow @EducatingArti 🤞

TeaAndStrumpets · 27/10/2025 16:51

@Hotbeverageplease how true. Sod's law is very real!

Poor little dog, hope it was a one off .

FurForksSake · 27/10/2025 16:55

Good luck for tomorrow @EducatingArti hope it all goes well.

Never a truer word.

There are some good meditations for vagus nerve reset. Also I've tried online sound baths. They can be very calming.

I am starting to question whether the toxic issues at my work might be a contributing factor to whatever the heck it is that's going on with me.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with such muppets (not wanting to insult actual Muppets who are generally quite benign and cute).

VikingNorthUtsire · 27/10/2025 21:00

I've worked most of today. Went for my final counselling session and it was a doozy so stoped en route home for a chai latte and a granola bar.

Don't know if it was connected but I got hit by a nasty nausea and headache at the end of the day. Are dinner (not cooked by me = win), cried a bit, retired to bed

EducatingArti · 28/10/2025 11:21

Most of the way through final packing. Parts of the kitchen have been ripped out!

No going back now! I hope they fit a very nice kitchen for you, you deserve it after all the upheaval. Let us know how it all goes.

TeaAndStrumpets · 28/10/2025 13:29

So tired. Sat in the car for a picnic but just really wanted to be home lying down. First viewers haven't even got their house on the market yet. Second viewer stayed over an hour and wants to come back. We have been messed about so much over the last few months that I don't trust anyone any more, but we'll see.

Watched Leonard and Hungry Paul on iPlayer...highly recommended for a relaxing watch.

I looked at sound baths @MewithME but a few people on here said it released lots of trauma for them. I found myself thinking I would rather my trauma stayed firmly repressed. Maybe if I'd had therapy as a young woman it would have really helped, but I don't know who I would be now as a person...maybe not me IYSWIM? Sorry, odd things that cross my mind! Also looked at humming like a foghorn and I can definitely do that!!

@VikingNorthUtsire I was interested that you had a bad reaction to your therapy. Do you think it will help you long term? Fab if it does.
