Mitchum & burning sensation

Has anyone had a problem with Mitchum deodorant lately? The most recent one I bought (the pink roll on) gave me burn marks on my armpits. Not little either! Big red stripes. Then I saw something on TikTok with other people complaining about this. Apparently Mitchum offered some money off vouchers but nothing else. Are they allowed to just change the ingredients like that without even testing it?!

You didn't use it after using hair removal cream, did you? I did that once, and had to walk around with my arms akimbo all day!

Inspirationpending · 07/09/2025 09:02

There was a thread a few weeks ago with lots of people having reactions to Mitchum.
I’ve switched to sanex and my armpits are back to normal
Used Mitchum for years prior to the reaction

DinaofCloud9 · 07/09/2025 09:03

Yes my friend was telling me the same thing had happened to her.

Yep, I can’t use it any more as it makes my armpits really sore - shame, it was a godsend for sweaty summer days.

Celeryedition · 07/09/2025 09:06

Omg! I’ve used it for years without any issue. It’s great stuff. But, for the last few weeks my arm pits have been burning and itchy. I thought maybe it was a rash or something. I went out yesterday to get some sudocream to try and calm it down. I thought it was just me.

Nothingoriginalhere · 07/09/2025 09:08

Yes latest one i bought after using for years caused massive sore areas under both armpits!
Didn't realise was happening to others.....
I really liked Mitchum as well
I've switched now.

sueelleker · 07/09/2025 09:15

To all of you having problems with the roll-on; I use the cream in the applicator, and have no problems. If you like Mitchum, maybe try that.

Pizaa · 07/09/2025 09:15

Oh my god yes!! It’s so sore!!

SerendipityDiamond · 07/09/2025 09:17

I gave it up a couple of years ago when my armpits got really sore and itchy.

GinJeanie · 07/09/2025 09:18

Yep! Intensely itchy armpits. Calmed down and went away when I stopped using it. Went in the bin, I'm afraid...

Justletmemoveon · 07/09/2025 09:18

Same here. And there was another thread yesterday about it causing itchiness too. I thought it was just me as well!

RipePeach · 07/09/2025 09:22

Oh my goodness, I thought it was just me! I’ve been using it for years with no problem but the last one has made my armpits itch like hell!

WeeAgnes · 07/09/2025 09:25

I use the Bamboo powder and it's been ok.
I hope they're not going around changing the composition.

C080889 · 07/09/2025 09:27

Omg same here. My burn mark is quite bad I had to have painkillers one day!

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 07/09/2025 09:29

Yes, I’ve had an awful reaction to Mitchum, red raw. They must have changed the ingredients. I’ve gone back to Dove.

should we complain?

Marylou2 · 07/09/2025 09:33

My DDs friend had to go to A&E last weekend because of this. DD told me and I laughed as I thought she was over-reacting. Then I saw a pic of her armpits. Looked like burns. Just awful.

AutumnAtLast0 · 07/09/2025 09:36

Yes!!! Two or three weeks ago I got the burning red armpits too, first time ever. I have been using it for years. I was going to start a thread on here actually. I had to use hydrocortisone cream to soothe it.

Fayaway · 07/09/2025 09:37

Yes - I contacted them a few weeks ago because it was so painful. Been using for years prior to this. I really wanted advice as to whether it was one batch/fragrance or whether I needed to change to a different brand. They asked me to send photos of my armpits (!) and the bottle, plus fill in a form. I did all this and they didn’t answer my original query but said they’d send some Revlon vouchers “from US” which never turned up. Now using a travel-size one I’d had a while but have just bought another full-size. Not used yet but even though only £3, now this thread has popped up I feel like a mug! Don’t want that raw, burning sensation ever again.

AutumnAtLast0 · 07/09/2025 09:37

It’s the pink Powder Fresh roll on that caused it for me.

Supporterofwomensrights · 07/09/2025 09:40

Yes, it happened to me. I had been using it for about 10 days and then, one day, it caused these horrible burns. I had not just shaved. It took about 15 minutes after I had put it on for the burns to appear. I was busy and had no choice but to ignore it and they were gone within about 24 hours. I chucked it and will never use that brand again. I thought I'd developed an allergy so thanks for posting as now I know it's not just me.

Edit: typo

mrsmalaprop · 07/09/2025 09:40

Another one with the same thing. There must be a way we can all tell them this. It’s really bad for them to be selling something that is harming people!

eleanorwish · 07/09/2025 09:42

There are definitely new ingredients in the latest one. DD’s room is a graveyard for old bottles so I did a comparison and spotted 2 new ingredients

Who knew it would be helpful that teenagers (I'm guessing!) don't keep their rooms tidy?!

There’s another thread going about this. I emailed them and got this sickly reply
