Mitchum & burning sensation

Has anyone had a problem with Mitchum deodorant lately? The most recent one I bought (the pink roll on) gave me burn marks on my armpits. Not little either! Big red stripes. Then I saw something on TikTok with other people complaining about this. Apparently Mitchum offered some money off vouchers but nothing else. Are they allowed to just change the ingredients like that without even testing it?!

Another one is so glad to see this thread. I ended up with two massive chemical burns under each armpit. I started using Mitchum in peri menopause as it was the only one that dealt with the sweating. It has never caused this problem before.
Can't trust them to deal with this if they are blaming 'a bad batch' and offering £3.50 compensation!

I received £20 of vouchers yesterday from Elizabeth Arden. And a non apology.

They have now actually eventually done a proper Product Recall. Amazon emailed me.

I had a slight reaction to them but not bad so not stopped using. Had a productive recall today through Amazon too.

What the heck are people spendng their vouchers on? I don't want to use Mitchum again. I don't wear make up. I have £21 and no clue?

Fayaway · 11/11/2025 11:41

I was promised vouchers back in August, they said they’d post from America. Nothing ever turned up but I did wonder how a retailer could accept them anyway?

sunshinechaser · 11/11/2025 15:55

@Fayawaythe vouchers can be used in Boots if you ever get them. My voucher was only for £3.50 so I can’t be arsed using it for that paltry amount!

TheHappenings · 11/11/2025 16:00

They have changed the chemicals, and are dishonest for saying they haven't. Loads of people do not just go from being fine to having a reaction. The rollerball burned my underarms. They said it was just that batch back in July. I have since tried their spray, and a reaction again. I have changed to Sure. I don't even have sensitive skin either!

I am having the same issue and have chased them up. I am assuming they are inundated with complaints. At the end of the day their product injured people.

GaudySocks · 22/11/2025 13:32

I’ve finally had my vouchers from them. Originally complained in September, which they ignored so I re-contacted them.

Vouchers turned up with a letter that says “We are indeed sorry to learn of the experience you attribute to Mitchum x3 Women Roll-On”.

The tone has really annoyed me as it seems to imply that I’m a one off complaint when we all know that they have had to issue a recall for the affected and frankly dangerous batches.

Does anyone know if the vouchers could be used towards a revlon hairdryer (for example)? Because there’s zero chance of me trusting any of their chemical based products again.

dick27 · 16/12/2025 16:15

I've been in a v large Boots today to see what I could spend them on. Given I don't wear make up and won't use Mitchum again I'm lost. I've emailed Mitchum back and said the vouchers are worthless to me.

Musicaltheatremum · 16/12/2025 17:24

I've just started using new batches of mitchum and they are fine now. Before I was getting mild redness and stinging though not as bad as some. It's the only one that suits me so I'm relieved

Ditto.

I got up my courage because nothing else works like it, and it's been fine.

I do feel a bit annoyed, however, that they haven't just published a clear statement and explanation of exactly what went wrong with those batches.

Ironically their silence makes me feel more nervous, as though perhaps they a re not fully certain and are now just winging it. But mostly it just feels a bit cloak and dagger and disrespectful to their customers, so if there was something else that worked as well, I'd swap. But imo, there isn't.

I’m caved and bought a roll on Mitcham because vouchers would go to waste otherwise, I would have liked a new lipstick but gave up trying to find a Revlon make up counter/shop. No adverse reactions- yet.

It wasn’t a “mild skin irritation - I had burns and welts
