Mitchum & burning sensation

Has anyone had a problem with Mitchum deodorant lately? The most recent one I bought (the pink roll on) gave me burn marks on my armpits. Not little either! Big red stripes. Then I saw something on TikTok with other people complaining about this. Apparently Mitchum offered some money off vouchers but nothing else. Are they allowed to just change the ingredients like that without even testing it?!

@eleanorwishcould you post what the new ingredients are? I contacted Revlon really just to find out which products have changed so I know to avoid them in the future. However they denied any new contents.

Me too! The spray is fine but the roll on made me scratch my underarms so much!

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 07/09/2025 11:11

I’ve reported on their website, if they get people reporting surely something could/should be changed?

I’ve seen a post on here reporting similar and it was all over TikTok last week that it’s causing issues for people. It appears to have changed formulation and doesn’t agree with most people.
report your issues to Mitchum and switch it out.
I used to use it for years but found it started to make me smell a weird smell and not BO. I switched to sure and been fine ever since but I do layer a cream and spray cos I’m pretty sweaty 😬

ForensicFlossy · 07/09/2025 11:28

OMG, I thought it was because I had been at the gym a bit more that normal. The chemist gave me a cream and it cleared up but it was so sore.

Smiling2022 · 07/09/2025 12:07

My daughter had been using Mitchum for years as it was the most effective product. But she has now stopped using it as she seems to be allergic to Mitchum, it has been burning her arm pits. Such a shame....

eleanorwish · 07/09/2025 18:08

I’ll add photos of the labels. The one which looks paler and has a copyright 2019 is the older one.

Thanks @eleanorwish ! It looks as if there are two new products contained in the newer bottle. Acetyle cedrene which appears to be a fragrance and hexamethylindanopyran which is another fragrance but is a known contact allergen and skin irritant. AI also tells me it’s a suspected endocrine disruptor but I’m not sure I believe in that nonsense.

sunshinechaser · 07/09/2025 18:55

Screenshot with the info. At least I know what chemical to avoid now.

I've had the same issue with the pink powder fresh one. The burns took weeks and weeks to heal, my skin completely peeled off and it was so painful. I've gone back to my trusty Dove.

Justme10 · 07/09/2025 19:43

I’m happy to see it wasn’t just me, thankfully no burns but my arm pits were so itchy! I have changed and started to use the gel from the stick and that has been fine for now.

Btowngirl · 07/09/2025 19:48

This happened to me. I tried to give it to a friend thinking I was just sensitive post partum and she said it’s happened to her too!!!

dottydoglover · 07/09/2025 19:51

Yes I had what I thought was an allergic reaction - horrible red rash and very sore - I used sudocrem and it cleared it up - won’t be using Mitchum again !

sciaticafanatica · 07/09/2025 19:53

Same thing has happened to me

CalmShaker · 07/09/2025 19:54

How bizarre, I've never once had an issue with roll on before but for the first time ever I got burn marks last week.
However, mine is L'Oréal - anyone know if they are made by same people?

There are definitely new ingredients in the latest one. DD’s room is a graveyard for old bottles so I did a comparison and spotted 2 new ingredients

Which are? Why post and not give the info?

They have.

RomComPhooey · 07/09/2025 20:01

I just mentioned this thread to DH because he uses men’s Mitchum roll-on. He says he’s having the same problem with soreness and skin irritation.

Lifeispeacefulthere · 07/09/2025 20:01

Yes I thought it was just me! I've used it for years.

SauvignonBlanche · 07/09/2025 20:01

They have.

Only after being asked. I responded to the first post by this person

Blueoak · 07/09/2025 20:16

I thought it was just me! Such painful burns it woke me up at night. Binned it off but can’t believe it’s affecting so many.

Wherecanitbe · 07/09/2025 21:05

On my goodness, me too! I have used Mitchum roll on for years with no problems at all. For the last week , I have had the most terrible burning and red raw skin under my arms. I have tried hydrocortisone cream from the chemist to try and help but with very little relief.

EmOwen · 08/09/2025 07:37

I have used it for years with no problems and now recently my under arms are in a terrible mess. I am desperately using hydrocortisone cream to try to clear it up.

Sleepplease2021 · 08/09/2025 07:43

Gosh this happened to me as well. I didn’t even think of it being the deodorant - I’ve used Mitchum for years with no issues. The pain was awful, I felt nauseous with it and it took ages to heal.

fluffiphlox · 08/09/2025 07:45

Yes me. Had to stop using it. I use Nivea roll-ons now.
