Have you recognised anyone on TV?

Clunky title, sorry.
With everything being reality this and reality that, have you ever recognised anyone from your life, on a TV show?

Only once for me, it was on Come Dine With Me, and it was somebody I went to secondary school with.
She was exactly the same as I remembered her, a really nice and genuinely lovely personality.
I can't remember how well she did on the show.
Will have to google and see if I can rewatch it!

I saw an ex on a dating show 😂

My school bully was on Family Fortunes, made a total prat of herself so that was good. A work couple was on Pointless, didn’t win the money but still did well. I’ve been on lots of game shows, I wonder if anyone saw me and has posted on here. And would I recognise myself? 😂

Yes, a recent ex teammate (female) of my 5 a side football team was on a show about threesomes on Channel 4. I couldn’t believe it 😂

A friend of mine won Cone Dine With Me about 10 years ago. Very down to earth girl- what you see is what you get-no airs and graces and she so deserved it!

My great aunt was one of the ladies who "went for Tiffin" with Sid James in Carry On up the Khyber. It was always exciting when that came on.

My cousin was one of the workhouse children in the original, black and white version of Oliver twist.

Obviously name changed. DP's cousin's child was on Don't tell the bride - the muscle beach episode 🙈

Yes, a lady who operated on me turned up on a surgery/hospital programme and I screamed 😂

The operation itself was exemplary, but her bedside manner made Dracula look warm and cosy.

A colleague had done First Dates a while before she joined and her episode was repeated when I had the tv on in the background one night!

My dad saw me interviewed on Newsround back in the 90’s! I was at a crime prevention conference and they were interviewing 2 or 3 kids from every school there and mine got picked to be aired! I had no way to tell him I might be on the telly so he was watching with my younger sister, they mentioned the conference and said to her to watch out in case they saw me in the crowd then it was me being interviewed! I’ve still never seen it myself though!

My best friend was on celebs go dating last year. A friend from high school and her OH were on Don't Tell The Bride years ago. Another friend from high school was on the news for being a terrorist and also had an itv drama made about him which is also on Netflix (The Walk In - has Stephen Graham in it, it's very good)

Yes, on the News. I recognised him immediately. Despite his balaclava.😬

A boy I went to school with. He had severe disabilities and was a wheelchair user. They did a reality show (I think it was a one-off episode) when he was in his early 20s, where his mates took him to Amsterdam with a view to finding a prostitute for him.

Continuing the school dad theme...... School dad was on The 1% Club and went out early. He was gutted as he panicked when answering.

Colleague won the music show hosted by Ken Bruce.

DH went to school with an actor who pops up often on dramas, most recently in This City Is Ours.

I went to a weight loss club where the chap running it once had a bit part in Brookside as he (tongue in cheek) referred to it often! He's a top bloke and was laughing at himself, not bragging.

The Stepson of a very distant relative was on Love Island. Did not watch it though so I don't know how he came across.

A school friend was on University Challenge many years ago and, more recently, an ex pupil also on University Challenge. I went to school with Jenny Eclair.

Someone I know went on couples come dine with me. He got his guitar out and sang and it was cringey. Also, they split up before it even aired on tv!

My son's teacher was on Only Connect.

I was interviewed by the BBC in town once. I could only think of one sentence to say, but they broadcast it! My 30 seconds of fame!

Someone who used to date my exes brother was in four in a bed. She didn’t come across well and was carefully edited to make her look worse. She is really annoying but the editing was extreme. They aren’t together anymore and she wasn’t popular in that local community.

Shes a bit of a media chaser and has been in papers and media for all sorts of things - lifestyle coach, beauty, mum influencer. Spent a bit of time down a rabbit hole looking for her and she’s totally disappeared since 2023. None of her accounts touched. Wonder what happened to her now!

A school friend’s sister was once on the Jeremy Kyle show.
