Have you recognised anyone on TV?

Clunky title, sorry.
With everything being reality this and reality that, have you ever recognised anyone from your life, on a TV show?

Only once for me, it was on Come Dine With Me, and it was somebody I went to secondary school with.
She was exactly the same as I remembered her, a really nice and genuinely lovely personality.
I can't remember how well she did on the show.
Will have to google and see if I can rewatch it!

Oh, also my neighbour had a really bad injury and was 24hrs in A&E plus I recognised someone getting pulled up on stage from the audience on the Graham Norton show...
The 1 in my other post was by far the best though! 🤣

I have known two people who have been on Countdown at different times. Both acquitted themselves well but both lost their games to the eventual winners of the series.
Back in the seventies, when I was at school, one of our teachers was on Brain of Britain on the radio. He reached the semifinals and we were all very proud of him.

Someone DH went to school with was on Big Brother, didn’t know till it came out.

He saw one of his cousins sons on a game show a few months ago.

Someone I went to school with had a bit part in Vera, she is an actress but she’s never been in much, she mostly sings. I shouted at the telly.

I’ve seen lots of people I knew through work, talking about work

My history teacher was on Pointless

A friend of mine was on a reality show before she was my friend. Someone else I know appeared on a Netflix documentary as an expert in a certain field.

That's brilliant! I wouldn't be able to look him in the eye 😂

Yes on below deck was the step sister of a little boy I used to nanny for! She was on the inside team on a super yacht I was like I KNOW her, I think she was about 13 when I'd last seen her!

Hubbie was also on dinner date and an extra in towie and an extra in the sky film 'final score' and another couple of rubbish reality shows

My Grandma was on a ITV mini series in 1985, To Be a Yellowbelly....? It was about farmers. I only found out beginning of the year as she'd bought some old newspaper articles and pictures for my ancestry research.

Someone I worked with was on one of the early series of The Apprentice. She was a total cow bag on it! She’d always been full of herself but man she came across horrifically!

A few people I know have been on masterchef. A colleague at my old job was on bake off. In the bit after it filmed and before it aired when nobody knew he was on it we had an office bake off, which I beat him in and he was really stroppy about it. Couldn’t work out why at the time!

Yes a colleague of mine has done a lot of extras work in tv. I didn’t realise she had until I spotted her in an episode of the vicar of dibley! Asked if it was her and it was, she said she’d done loads of stuff and I’ve seen her in quite a few things, mostly older stuff though, not a reality tv type.

We seem to have a school dad theme…
one was on fame academy with Lemar, one was on Tipping Point and two dads were on SAS Who Dares Wins as part of the military directing staff.

Also our local farm attraction - farmer palmer was on Come Dine With Me and won 🤣

Friends of my parents as extras in a ceildh scene in Shallow Grave ( I think). Several former uni classmates on that program about farming in Scotland.

A school mum who was on big Brother too!

I was walking out of the lounge and a voice on the TV stopped me dead.... it was a woman I'd worked with about 20 years previously, I'd recognise her anywhere, she was glorious to work with. She was on come dine with me.

I also recognised someone I went to school with on doctor who and casualty (same person)

Who was he? The bassoon player?

My former GP receptionist was on a few tv shows after she became an influencer for a bet.

A lady in a discount store was on an genealogy show.

2 of my friends have been on location location location. Separate episodes.

And a girl I went to school is a news presenter on bbc Scotland.

Yes!

A man who got the same bus as me in the mornings around 20 years ago was on the news one day back then as an expert in the restoration of antiques. He wore interesting shirts which made me notice him and I often wondered what he did for work, so that helped explain it.

Yes, someone on a programme about health. Didn’t get on with her at school and didn’t think she’d changed much!
