I was just looking at facebook, and a ‘Sad face’ newsmaker article came up. Practically all the comments mentioned boats, asylum seekers etc etc. Its really getting me down.

Travelled to the south west last weekend. On the way down no flags on bridges. On the way back, in some areas, every bridge.

In case you haven't noticed, the English aren't exactly clamouring for their "independence".

English is an identity. It doesn't have any specific legal or scientific definition. Conseqently, people of any ethnicity can identify as English. And many from diverse ethnic backgrounds do. It is not for anyone else to tell them that they can't.

Nationality has a legal basis. If you are eligible for a British passport, you are British. Ethnicity and identity bear no relevance here.

So for you it’s not about culture it’s about race.

Literally every ethnicity is a cocktail of worldwide ethnicities. The English are hardly unique in this? But it’s a unique mixture, and creates the diverse peoples of the world. Once they are gone, they are gone for good.

I mean, Japanese are nothing more than Korean rice farmers mixed with Jomon aboriginals, for the most part, perhaps some Siberian hunter-gatherer. So does that mean you can also have white or black ethnic Japanese? (No, you can not).

You can have a white person with Japanese nationality (rare but I know a few LOL). They will not be ethnically Japanese though
