Hate how racist everything has become, and how quickly it’s happened.

I was just looking at facebook, and a ‘Sad face’ newsmaker article came up. Practically all the comments mentioned boats, asylum seekers etc etc. Its really getting me down.

Travelled to the south west last weekend. On the way down no flags on bridges. On the way back, in some areas, every bridge.

Its scary how quickly it’s all happening.

Do you mean the bits of Africa where white people stole land and resources and then treated black people as being inferior for many decades? I wonder why that might have led to tensions...

Yep

imagine this rant, but about colonialism, to understand the future of white British people lol. Glad my kids have a second passport tbh

If they're anything like you, I'm glad that they have a second passport as well.

As for your concern about the future of white British people... please save your energy. There are a few nutty racists amongst us, but most of us are doing just fine.

Here. Not sure if even overseas fees cover it

The cost for the UK to train a medical student can be around £230,000 to £327,000 over the course of their undergraduate degree and foundation training, according to various sources from 2016 to 2023. This total figure accounts for a significant investment by taxpayers and the National Health Service (NHS) through grants and healthcare provider support, in addition to the student's own costs for tuition fees and living expenses covered by loans and bursaries.

Cost Breakdown:
Taxpayer/NHS Contribution:
A substantial portion, estimated to be around £163,000 in some figures, covers direct grants to students, funding for clinical placements in healthcare settings, and support for the universities themselves.

Overseas fees are 30k to 60k a year and must be covered by the university itself (who may pass on the cost)

UK students are heavily subsidised.. which is correct I think.

She is talking about white English people.

I'm not clear as to whether that means pure Anglo Saxon or whether we are allowed to have traces of Celt, Viking, Norman French etc as well.

You had an ethnogenesis in 1066 (as I recall). The English people have been remarkably constant since. I think when the English become a minority, that will necessarily mean Britain will have become a different country

PaxAeterna · 25/08/2025 15:07

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 25/08/2025 14:26

It is certainly true that international students have been bankrolling our universities for many years.

And it's true that we could choose to finance our higher education in a different way. Much higher fees for home students, for example? Or higher taxes to support big government subsidies? Or a vast reduction in the number of British students who are permitted to go on to higher education? Or massive cuts to teaching, facilities and support services for students in order to drastically reduce costs?

There will be trade offs linked to any of the choices that we make. It all boils down to what price people are willing to pay to cut the numbers of international students.

Do people actually want to do that though.

It just seems like there is a lot of misunderstandings and misinformation.

I don't know. I think some people want to stop all immigration, including students. Others have more nuanced positions.

As to whether those who want student immigration to end, I have no idea whether they have considered the trade-offs that might be necessary if we went down that route.

What does "becoming a different country" even mean, though?

Geographically, nothing will have changed (except for the effects of climate change).

Politically, who knows? The Scottish might vote for independence, or Northern Ireland might decide to leave the UK. I don't see England breaking up any time soon.

Culturally, things will continue to evolve, as they always have done. You might have noticed that the culture has already changed quite a bit since 1066.

Genetically, we might end up with a more diverse gene pool. So what? Why would they matter and what difference would it really make?

nomas · 25/08/2025 15:20

RingoJuice · 25/08/2025 14:29

It will erase distinct groups, so I consider that a net loss tbh. Also, there is a judgement that non-diverse gene pools are bad. There are pros and cons.

Ashkenazi Jews have some unique genetic diseases but they are also the most intelligent group on earth! That kind of human diversity is quite amazing! Non-Bantu Africans are very genetically diverse, and it’s worth trying to preserve their communities against Bantu marginalization. We don’t want these groups to disappear forever!

I think you’re veering into racial stereotypes here. But Ashkenazi Jews are more predisposed to some genetic diseases due to a lack of diversity, partly because the Holocaust reduced genetic contribution to subsequent generations.

underthecokesign · 25/08/2025 14:50

How can English people 'die out'? There are millions of us. Were you referring to any particular colour of English people, out of interest?

English can only be white. Otherwise they are British. Such was my understanding

It’s not a stereotype. Literally, measurably
the highest IQ people in the world. Probably due to selection effects since this isn’t seen in Mizrahi or Sephardi groups. Iirc these genetic diseases were seen pre-Holocaust.

No.

English is an identity based on a social construct. It has no legal or scientific definition.

I bet you are one of those, ‘a woman is anyone that defines themselves as a woman’ and ‘intersex people mean that there’s no such thing as a woman’.

No, it isn’t because it hasn’t been measured because it plays into anti-Semitic tropes.

Really not sure what your point is. No one is forced to marry outside their racial group anyway.

As a nationality yes, not as an ethnicity.
